This tooth had a root canal procedure over 40 years ago and the three roots required just the right pain control for the lengthy procedure. I was amazed at the lack of pain during the pulling process but even more I didn't even need an aspirin after. No swelling, no excessive bleeding. I had to take care with a wateerpic for a few days. I have adjusted well to the loss of the tooth. It is always a pleasant experience with caring personnel and a comfortable homey environment. Dental care is esceptional.

Being on the hook for $700 is A LOT to pay out of pocket for an annual checkup, so I made it known I was apprehensive, but I do pay what I owe... Fast forward to 3 months later and Lisa STILL has not submitted a claim to my insurance, refuses to refund me and then bill later once she gets it together and submits the claim, and then continues to give excuse after excuse why the claim has not been submitted. She has sworn to me at least 6 times now that the claim was submitted, yet my very reliable insurance says otherwise. It's not even that a claim was denied - it simply was never received. The last time we spoke, I hung up on her because she was giving me an attitude about HER lack of doing her job. I told her to just give me back my $700 and bill me when she submits the claim, but she says "it doesn't work that way" (which is odd because she said they would refund me AFTER the claim, so why not refund me now, then bill me after?) Rather than argue, I ended the call. I don't expect the claim to ever be submitted. I hope her boss reads this because I get the feeling the rest of the staff has no idea how awful she is at her job. I will never return here, which is a SHAME because I loved the dentist and dental assistants so much.

(I even got to see photos of her visit there. All the while Mandy's cleaning my teeth with special TLC for my poor, periodontal disease-suffering gums. It's important to me when a hygienist can engage in interesting conversation while continuing to do a superior job on my teeth. All the hygienists here are great. Dr. Chobot remains our long-time favorite family dentist, and we've been to a few dental clinics in town. And to top it all off, his clinic is located in a gorgeous wooded area that you can enjoy from any chair during your visit. I came in for a cleaning and mentioned that I would be paying out of pocket or "cash" and I think that was my first mistake. I think as soon as they figured out I had a credit card in my wallet, it was game on! The dental hygienist was kind in nature, but proceeded to describe how my mouth was essentially a cesspool of calculus / plaque / etc. Which you'll later find out isn't true... They made it paramount that I get periodontal cleanings in ALL 4 QUADRANTS of my mouth. This is over $1,000 if you're paying out of pocket. They also put heavy stress on getting 3 cavities in my upper right area filled ASAP. Well I decide to be on my way after my cleaning. Go see another dentist because I'm 24 years old and really refuse to believe that my mouth is as nasty as they described. I have a beautiful girlfriend that kisses me on the mouth each day, so I mean maybe she could have given me a better opinion... I went to an office in Bremerton to get a second opinion and boy oh boy get your snacks ready: Doc in Bremerton essentially said that I was doing good on keeping up with my teeth. I told him about what the previous dentist told me (with the 3 cavities), and he said that it was only necessary for me to get 1 filling. No further appointments necessary... so I'll be getting that filling and will not be paying over $1k out of pocket for an unnecessary cleaning. It's really sad to be honest. I think it's a money grab just like many things in life. After all, my credit card inside their POS machine is much faster than trying to get ahold of an insurance provider. As soon as they know you have the money, it's time to bend the truth about patients' needs when it comes to procedures. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
