When we arrived, the receptionist whispers to me with my daughter right there, something like "we understand how to handle her". My daughter who is highly capable (which most highly capable kids have these types of issues) says great treat me like a muzzled dog! You can imagine how that started the appointment out. When she is getting her x-rays done, she explains she feels like she's going to puke. The tech continues and says 3 more but when she is done, she doesn't tell her and my daughter has to say are you done, I'm going to puke. She says yes, so my daughter throws off the padded bib and runs for the bathroom. Mind you she is already having a hard time not losing her cool. Then the dentist comes in to look at her teeth. My daughter is standing there, and she tells her to sit in the chair. My daughter asks why and no answer, the dentist then repeats to have her sit and my daughter again asks why. My daughter is being snippy since she is full on anxious mod and just puked and says she can't do this. The dentist says she is only going to look in her mouth with this mirror and its no big deal, so my daughter complies and gets into the chair. The dentist proceeds to look in her mouth with the mirror but also has the metal tool with it. So half way through my daughter who is in tears says to stop ( she can't handle the metal against her teeth) and gets up to leave. The dentist just rolls her eyes and I'm sure thinks she is just a spoiled brat! Instead of understanding how someone acts when they are in panic mod, and understanding what is going on. I am leaving this review so hopefully the staff or whoever reads this, may understand this is not how you help an anxious, sensory issue individual learn to trust a dentist! As she's having a meltdown in the car, she asks me why every dentist we have tried will do things without telling her or getting her consent. If the dentist had explained in detail what she was going to do and given her time to digest it, she would have let her complete the exam. The dentist prior to this one, went ahead and put fluoride on her teeth after she told them no! We have an appointment at the Silverdale location instead to get two small fillings done. I called to explain again her concerns and needs. We are hoping to finally find a compassionate dentist who will actually listen and make her experience one she will be ok with.

My last dentist suggested I have all my silver fillings removed and the white was put in. BIG MISTAKE. I thought it would be better too, but they weren't done right and there was "leaking" and decay happening under the fillings I just had put in 2 years ago. Doc Weatherill, spotted it, fixed it, and saved me from having to have a root canal. The gel they use to numb your injection site, worked great. I felt NO PAIN, getting my mouth numb. He lets you know what he is doing, step by step. No surprises. He even has a piece of hard foam, to rest your teeth on, so you don't have to hold your mouth open during the entire procedure. I don't know about you, but I would always leave with an aching jaw, from having to keep my mouth wide open. NOT HERE. They go to great lengths to make you comfortable. A tv , so you don't just stare at the ceiling, and they hand you the remote. Headphones, so you don't have to listen to the drill. Pillows and blankets if you choose. I asked for a foot rub, I guess they have their limits. LOL He and his staff are so gentle, and friendly. They all go to dental conventions on a regular basis, to keep up with the latest technique. Doc Weatherill is so knowledgeable and humble. Even if someone has done poor work, he can fix it and make it right. Kayla, the assistant, did a great job of my temporaries. In the past, my temporaries came off, or weren't seated correctly, and it hurt to bite down, making me go back for another visit to fix it. Not with her. She did her job right the first time. Great Job Kayla! Tawnie is super. My husband had to leave a message, after hours, about pain he was having. Tawnie called us, to let us know what we could do to get some relief. She was spot on. She even called, with a follow up call, to ensure he was doing okay. You're the best Tawnie. Cathy, the dental hygienist, is thorough, and informative. I used to have bleeding in my gums, but since she teaches me how to clean my teeth, my mouth is much healthier. I no longer dread my cleanings. She will make sure you have a good experience. Michelle, the receptionist, is on top of things. She will do a preauthorization, so there will be NO surprises out of pocket. She makes every effort to give you the date and time you need. I like that, i don't feel like a dollar sign, but a valued client. I get two to three teeth cleanings a year (my insurance pays for 3), and my hygenist feels like family (the good family, not the . . . lol). i schedule them before i leave my last cleaning, and offten up to a year out. They use text message reminders a week out, which i like, and i have gotten in on short notice when someone cancelled the week before their appointment.
