This place is out of my way (I live in Centretown) but for the service, this is worth the detour. I have been waiting to write the review for this place, because I wanted to compare it to others in the nearby area. What has made me come back here is hands down the service, the people who work here are so nice. The other thing that makes me come back is the quality. Most salons will rush through whatever service I request when it's a busy time, but I have been here on different days of the week and different times and have always gotten quality service. It's located in a small strip mall on Altavista and Bank, and I just happened to drive by it on day and decided to try it out. I am so glad I did! You get what you pay for and the shellac always lasts at least two weeks before any sign of wear on the the manicure, and even longer for a pedicure! The pricing is fair. I always pay about $65 for a mani/pedi shellac and add a tip. A regular pedi is $25 on Tuesdays, they run specials. Atmosphere: common of what you'd find in any nail salon. It's relaxed and there's calming classical music. They clean their tools with alcohol before they start. That's always important! The mani and pedi always include cleaning and massage, plus the pedi chairs are massage chairs so overall it's SO relaxing! They take all forms of payment. Overall I feel relaxed when I come here, the staff smile, and I don't feel ripped off. Paying for this service can be pricey so I want the end result to last. read more

I got acrylics and a pedicure at this particular place on Aug 16. ** I was a bridesmaid for my cousin's wedding (also this is my first wedding I got to attend) ** I followed the reviews and pics that suggested that this place was amazing. So I decided to try this place. This was my first time ever going to a nail salon and I was really disappointed. The day and time of my appointment, they were really busy. It was a small store with limited space and small staff. I didn't mind waiting because I didn't have anything to do after. I waited for about ten minutes after my scheduled time. However, the lady that was doing my nails was rushing. She had to handle the phone calls which were ringing quite a lot. It took about an hour to get my nails done. Then they moved me to the pedicure station where they also rushed so they could "supply" the client. My overall assessment: (I got nails done first then pedi but it seemed like they forgot I also booked a pedicure when I told them) Nails - drilled too hard against my cuticle that it was red and swollen and it hurt; some nails were "crooked"; the spaces between my natural nail and the "false" nail were not painted; it looked like the nail was gonna fall off; the nail is super thick (could be some cheap type of fake nail tip they use); the nail polish itself was "streaky" (I dont know if it was that specific bottle or all of them were like that); some of the nail polish "flooded my cuticle"; the application of the top coat was also terrible; they didn't apply it to the tips or the sides; there are air bubbles on my nails; since they did not apply top coat to the tips, the nail polish chipped quickly * I do have small nail beds because I WAS a nail biter and because I have small fingers in general. However that shouldn't be a problem when covering the whole nail including the sides. [ I wanted it to look nice because I was a part of a wedding party and needed to be presented nicely ] ** I feel as if I could do a better job, painting wise, myself and I have on my sister, my aunt and my mom. Pedicure - it was amazing but short because I was rushed; I wished they put more care into me; the painting was decent (better than the nails though) but the toes don't matter because you can barely see them. * I recommend asking for the man to do your pedicure. He does an amazing job. I heard he also does a good job on nails but I did not have him. After being unsatisfied, I called them and they would nice enough to fix it for free. So the next day I went back and it was better than before but not impeccable. I was really busy with wedding stuff so I left unsatisfied again and called it a day. They did fix it but it still wasn't perfect. I didn't want to keep going back to fix mistakes they could've fixed if they were patient and took their time instead of rushing. And I understand that they have their own small business and they get busy. My parents also own a small business that gets busy often. However, it's better to leave customers satisfied and focus on perfecting their work than to gather many customers and send them off quickly for more. To add, my nails/cuticles are extremely dry and are already growing out and it has only one week. Im not sure if they are supposed to be like this but just some additional info. To conclude, their service was actually 3/5 stars because they were nice and kind. However they should've taken more time to do their work instead of rushing. I had good customer service but skills and patience, they lack. Also the pictures they posted on their website felt like false advertising because compared to my nails they weren't even close to what was posted. The skills from their website were not the same as my nails. I would totally go back to get a pedicure BUT NOT FOR ACRYLICS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ANOTHER PLACE. They also made me pay before she painted my nails so I obviously tipped for service but I didn't expect it to turn out like this so I wished I didn't tip. I paid with cash. If you do pay before your service is done, tip at the end to see if they deserve it. (I believe I was the only one that paid before the job was done so I don't know what that was about) THE ONLY REASON WHY I DIDNT GIVE THEM 0/5 STARS (well first I cant because yelp wouldnt allow it but..) I'm sitting here right now while the woman does my pedicure, I ask her not to do the white on the French pedicure so big, she nods and does it anyways, before she puts on the top coat I ask her again she nods and starts going again anyways. At this point I'm frustrated now and I ask her to remove the white line and redo it but then all 4 workers are staring at the job saying she already put the top coat on she can't remove it. LOL my pedicure didn't even match on each foot, they told me she'll cut it down since it's too late. I don't want to barely have a nail. Never coming back here, first time and last! read more

I have been going to another place for pedicures for years, I thought it was normal to be ignored, but realized how wrong I was when I went here. I was greeted with smiles and my coat was hung up. The pedicure was excellent, Le took her time and did a very thorough and professional job. I was checked before I left and told it was dry and I could leave. On my second visit to the studio i decided to get the pale pink shellac this was on a Sunday. 24 hours after my nails looked like "mood ring effect" marble white spots all over 8 of my nails. Because of my schedule i was not able to go back to see them to show and have changed only 1 week after. So called them to let them know and showed up the same day and was told that they would charge me 1/2 the price of a new application . Not sure y i am paying for a product that either was not cured properly with the lights or was faulty to begin with. They said they had never seen this (please keep in mind that i was in and out in 15 minutes for the manicure). I left without changing or paying for another application. And this is really unfortunate as of course bad press removes a lot of customers from entering their door. read more
