I recently had the pleasure of visiting Self Skin Studio, a classy and modern medical spa, and I must say it was an incredibly inviting experience. Abby sweetly walked downstairs to greet me after my call requesting directions once I entered the building (it's upstairs by the way lol) The moment I walked into the practice , I was stunned by the simple and modern elegant decor. First treat of my day was the dermaplane facial, and it was truly amazing. Not only was it incredibly relaxing, but my skin felt rejuvenated afterward....for days! That was shocking because my skin is crazy dehydrated!! The esthetician, Mary Hannah was professional and extremely knowledgeable. She took the time to assess my skin, listen to my goals/wants for my skin and provided her expert suggestions while addressing my biggest concerns. I felt genuinely heard, and Mary Hannah easily earned my trust!! The next was a biggie for me. Originally I was nervous about fillers in general. I have never felt so welcomed and at ease when I first walked through the door at Self Skin Studios!! By far the most caring, loving and professional staff! Mary Hannah gave me the best facial I've ever had. She was very thorough in cleansing, extracting, exfoliating, dermaplaning and addressing all my questions before and after. Let me tell you I am not the one who likes needles and I have passed out during my first prodecure with lip filler. It was an awful experience many years ago in Raleigh. Katie was so sensitive to my needs and worked with me through my anxiety of the fear of getting some filler in my lips. She not only gave me things to squeeze and distractions of beautiful music but also a little hand held vibrating device. Yes, I am that bad!! I didn't feel anything because she took her time, she was very gentle and sweetly talked me through every step of the way!! I went back 2 weeks later to follow up and get the rest of the filler injected and it was a piece of cake. Mind you I still had all the distractions and then some but I am sold!! I am sold that I found the best professionals that can do a great job at making you feel at ease but make you look more radiant and beautiful!! Secondly, the esthetician, Mary-Hannah, created such a relaxing environment during the service, as well as walked me through the whole process since I have sensitive skin she told me what each product was and how it would help, and ever since the service my skin has been so glowy and hydrated! As a guy, I never expected to visit a medspa - I thought they were just for women. After my recent experience at Self Skin Studio, I realized how mistaken I had been. For starters, the staff is incredible. In addition to being friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, they immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable and put me at ease throughout my visits. I've been in twice so far, once for a facial, and then for microneedling and BOTOX on my second trip. The results were subtle but noticeable, though it never looks like I've "had work done." In addition to my treatments, I also began using some of the Self skincare products - including the 'Revive' face wash and the 'Brighten' moisturizer. I've had great results with both products. My skin looks and feels better than it ever has, and I've gotten several compliments.
