I have never once gotten a promised quote for the work. This last time I went in nobody greeted me although there were several people working and several chatting amongst themselves. Finally someone helped me after I searched them out and asked for help. I provided my kitchen sketches and she promised an estimate. It never came. I went back in THE.NEXT.DAY. To show my husband some of the kitchens, and the woman who had spent 15 mins with me had no idea she had met me the day before. It's been 5 weeks and no estimate or follow up. Inde is owned by a builder. They use the showroom to help customers that are building a house pick their finishes. Which is fine but why bothering opening to the public if you're not even interested in working with the public? The sales reps are not interested in you unless you're building a home. Not even if you're doing a $40,000 kitchen remodel. Don't even bother. Also, if you are going to work with them look closely at their displays. The work is mediocre. And they want you to drive over an hour away to pick your counters!!!

I'm stunned by how the final product matches the original renderings so accurately -- this was our first construction project that had no unpleasant surprises! The team was like part of the family, and we were on a first name basis with everyone who came in to work on the project. Our home was always left clean and secure, making it much easier to be here while the construction was taking place. Through temporary walls and a dining room magically turned into a temporary kitchen that the team set up, we had a somewhat normal life as this was all taking place. We absolutely wouldn't hesitate to hire Hometown again or recommend them to anyone seeking a team that will work closely with you and truly care about your home.

These guys came and took measurements and were able to show me several different design options rendered on the computer. I chose the one I loved, and they advised me on every detail, right down to the trim, appliances, cabinetry, flooring, and backsplash tile, helping me to make my dream kitchen a reality within my budget. I could not be happier with how my kitchen turned out! I'm amazed that they were able to see the potential in what I thought was a lost cause and then make it a reality for me. My cramped cave-like kitchen is now bright, airy, and inviting! I cannot speak more highly of Hometown. Let them show you what they can do - you will not be disappointed!

SL Custom Construction built a custom pool deck for our above ground pool that is amazing! The…read morequality of the construction and materials has become a beautiful asset to our yard and the value of our house. I worked construction and was a mechanical engineer, so I know how to properly build a deck and I am frankly very particular how contractors create a foundation and their fit and finish of the visible decking and stairs. SL Customer Construction did it all right and with constant care and communications with me to be sure that we would be happy with the end result, as we very much are. We were also very pleased about some of the upgraded finish recommendations that they offered to me that have added several wow factors to what could have looked like just a functional pool deck without them. For example, using two colors of decking, a light gray and a charcoal to make a "picture frame" around the main deck, landing and each step of the stairway. They also made a custom main gate that matched the black railings, rather than use an out of the box gate that would have looked more like a jail cell gate. They also recommended using the charcoal decking color for the skirting all around to contrast the light gray decking boards and again, it looks fantastic! As with any complex construction project, there were a few bumps in the road along the way that caused some delays, such as the wrong length spindles that needed to be reordered. But, the SL team was also making sure that everything was done right and to my satisfaction, while responding to any issues quickly and appropriately. As a marketing and branding executive and consultant in my later career, I know that no business is perfect all the time, but the thing that defines a great from a fair business is how they respond to problems and issues, to create a positive customer experience. I live in the town of Greece where their requirements for construction projects is unusually difficult as they have specs that no other town in the county demands. I have worked with the town permit desk directly and working with the town is a frustrating experience to comply with their sometimes unreasonable specs. SL worked directly with the town of Greece for the permit on our pool deck project and they passed the three required on-site inspections with flying colors. SL owner Scott suggested that they build the town required landing/platform a step lower that the main deck level so that they did not have to have the whole side of the railings a foot higher than the rest of the railings as the town demanded. By lowering the landing, he was able to get town approval with only the safety gate a bit taller than the rest of the railings that still meet the town spec at standard height. I definitely recommend SL Custom Construction for your next custom construction project and I have already discussed a couple future projects for our home with SL's owner Scott. Thank you to Joe, Jay and crew for their attention to detail and positive customer experience. .Also, thanks to Elisha in the office and Ed in sales for their quick response to my questions.

Initially, I was highly impressed with the owner, Scott. He presented himself so professionally that I made the big mistake of trusting him completely and didn't even seek an additional quote. That is a mistake I deeply regret. Once the nearly $47,000 project began, Scott never came on-site even a single time to supervise the work, leading to a catastrophic breakdown in quality control and professional conduct. The masonry work performed at my property has since been assessed by multiple independent industry professionals who have verbally clarified that the project is a total loss requiring a full removal and redo. The specific, documented issues include: Structural Damage to My Home: The concrete was poured without proper expansion joints, causing extreme lateral pressure that has physically buckled and warped the structural frame of my Four Seasons room sliding glass doors and damaged my siding. Sub-base Failure & Cracking: Severe structural cracks emerged rapidly due to an improperly compacted foundation and the complete omission of internal structural reinforcements like rebar or wire mesh. Safety and Conduct Breaches: The project suffered from a severe lack of professionalism, including a highly concerning on-site incident where a crew leader arrived under the influence of alcohol--a safety violation witnessed by myself and neighbors. When these structural defects were brought to their attention, management's only solution was to offer a minor balance waiver and an impossible surface "patch" rather than addressing the structural integrity of my home. Because the cost to fix their negligence far exceeds what was paid, I am letting the public know the truth. I have exhaustive photographic evidence of the defects, copies of all correspondence, and firsthand accounts documenting every single claim made in this review. If you are considering hiring this company or its new divisions (such as Rochester Deck Builders or Decorative Concrete) and want to see the proof of this substandard work before you sign, please reach out to me directly.
