I go to this library a few times per week (usually leaving my phone in my car so that i can be in and out with my books). And I love it! While things have gone digital, I still have a physical library card, that I love using to check out my books. On my most recent visit, I came to perform my civic duty of voting in my local and Presidential elections. While the line was pretty long, they set it up where there were only a few people allowed inside at a time to vote, to keep the area from being crowded. The folks in line were all patient, and the workers told us jokes while we waited. When it began to rain, they moved us inside. Once I was done voting, I went upstairs and checked out a few books, and read a bit while I waited for hubby to finish voting. The variety of books here are extensive, and if you can't find it in there, they will ship it from a partner location or you can get a digital copy using Libby. There are so many comfy places to sit and enjoy your book, and its soooo quiet (even with the rather large children's area upstairs). There is a bookstore downstairs, if you want to purchase a book, or donate to the library. Overall a good library for east Orlando. read more

I love this library in Casselberry for the weekly kids storytime! They have a huge selection of kids books as well. In addition to books, they have tables and chairs, puzzles, coloring options, and blocks, which is a nice option to keep little ones entertained. This is a big, spacious library with two floors. They have community rooms and seating areas throughout. The library does show its age, but they do a good job of keeping it clean. Their Friends of the Library store downstairs is also affordable and they live up to their name - the staff is very friendly. Overall, a clean, spacious library in Seminole County. read more

Excellent children's section. My daughter recently attended the summer reading kick off and had a wonderful time.

We stopped by this library to do some research - the library itself is a little outdated, but that did not affect the selection they had. I thought it was cool that they had a program called 'Book Bounce,' in which the library sends a kit that goes with your themed curriculum - this is avaialble for licensed daycare provides, Head Start programs, schools, as well as other community child care programs - it includes 12-14 books, a puppet, and a music CD. Also, check their County Calendar for a list of events, as they have tax help, a Teen Library Council, Kindle assistance, etc. My most favorite part of the library is the framed Read poster of SEAN CONNERY (HEART HEART HEART!!!)! +framed Connery 'Read' poster :D read more

I have lived in seminole county for over 15 years now and I have had privilege of having this library be 3 miles from my house. It has really good hours for you to come visit. The first floor is entirely a conference rooms and a bookstore. On the 2nd floor is where the library actually is and they have a good variety of books, magazines, audio books available for borrowing. There is even an online app now named Libby which you can use to read books via your tablet or kindle which is really good. Not sure if it's as big as the Orange County one but it is still pretty impressive. Check out the library... let it help your imagination roam free. read more

Very good books, most of them are in perfect condition and the area is clean and quiet.

This branch of the Seminole county library seems to be the largest of the locations I've been to (Longwood, Lake Mary, Casselberry). The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare but the one for the Lake Mary branch can be too. Meetings and classes are held on the first floor and books, etc as well as the check in/out counter can be found on the 2nd floor. I find it convenient writing this library system that you can place a hold on a book and it will be delivered to the branch of your choosing when it is available. I do it all the time and never seem to wait very long which is great. Seminole county also offers various classes, just take a look at their calendar online or inquire at information. read more

The outside of the building, you can tell, is a little older. Don't let this fool you though, they carry an assortment of popular reads even the ~trendy~ kids enjoy. There's even a 3D printer that can be publicly used which I thought was neat! On the first level there's a used bookstore that sells cheap books and the money raised goes right back into the library. Definitely check this store out because I go out of my way to visit it! I pick up great reads for dirt cheap (sometimes they have books and bundles for under 50 cents)! You'll definitely need a lot of times to sift through the shelves because there's a LOT to go through but it's worth it if you're a bookworm like me. read more

I've been to this library twice with my boyfriend and since he's darker with tattoos the cop followed him around the library multiple times, we sat on the floor to read because there's two stiff chairs in the library no reading corners or anything. The cop passed us for fifth after we sat down and started reading and a minute later the librarian came up to us saying that we can't sit on the floor even though there was no signs posted about that rule. Also when we were leaving then we saw the cop chill and just stand in a corner. We couldn't get a new library card the first time because we didn't bring a piece of mail so the second time my boyfriend went, the older white librarian (burgundy hair) was passive aggressive, didn't speak to him up until she really needed to. When he walked up she looked at him with raised eyebrows like "what do you want" and made him feel stupid for being there. My boyfriend is trans and his mail says his nickname but his ID says his full name and he still looks the same and she paused like didn't want to give him his card, and put him through a bunch of questioning compared to the younger librarians. He was there 45 minutes and the whole time he was there they kept coming up to him to harass him. For example, There were books near the computers so he goes to look at them and one of the ladies goes and says "EXCUSE ME, you have to check in to use the computers" when he clearly wasn't near the computers or sat down to look at the computers or anything. When he checked in they kept referring him to another library. old white people are the worst. The racial profiling and transphobia here was unacceptable. Hope they make some changes to their staff. read more

What is there not to like about libraries? Probably unfriendly staff. Well this location had provided me with friendly and helpful directions whenever I had a question. When I brought my son to use their computers , they were very patient with him. it is hard to do when autistic kid is all over the place. I recommend taking some classes library provides. for example in month of October they offer pumpkin carving for kids and teens. read more

I agree with the earlier reviews, that while this library is clean and comfortable, it is disappointing they don't have a movie section, but most of the time they do have the books I am interested in. I have used this library as a place to study and have found that without ear plugs it is near impossible. . . I don't know who introduced some of these senior citizens to cell phones, but they are constantly on the loudest ringtone and then they yell over the phone, I mean it's a library take your personal conversations outside! Also, one of the staff members loves to get into conversation, god forbid someone asks her for help on finding a book she will not stop talking for another 45 minutes. Aside from those rude and inconsiderate people, the library is slightly outdated in design, but is not all that bad to run in and pick up a quick read. read more

My dad used to take me an my sister to the library every other Saturday to pick out our books for the next couple weeks. This particular library is good for that. Nice selection of books. They have NYT top sellers (fiction and nonfiction) in shelves right at the front. Convenient for when I am just looking for a random good read. Looks like currently the library is going through some reorganization. People at the library do not know how to turn their phones in vibrate or what the definition of a whisper is. The information desk is located right by shelves of books. They can get load when answering or helping people. I would not come here if I needed to study or some quiet time with a good book. I spent so much time at this library when I lived in the area! You really can't beat it. The system is so well-managed that if you order a book from another branch they'll likely have it in your hands within a day or two. The librarians here are very helpful. When I had a research project and got stuck, they were able to help me find new sources. They were also very kind about the back-breaking stacks of books I'd have when all my reserves came in at once. read more

The library appears to be undergoing some changes! (Still no movies, though). Wow! The Colors! I've been a long-time Seminole county resident (since '95) and I remember the first time I walked up to the Casselberry branch. Small, but at least it's 2-storied. Well, yes, but the library is only the top floor. The bottom floor is the bookstore, the area that used to be the book store, and some meeting rooms. The nice thing is that I've been able to get books here that I can't get at OCLS or my city library. But, yeah. It's small. read more

I'm a fan of the public library system. Even with the current audio books and online downloads available. I'm still an old school girl for the hard copy. A plus with the library I was able to reserve it and select the location for pick up. It's good to see your county tax dollars put to productive use. read more

One of the ladies who works at the information desk is really rude to people who ask for information. This has happened to me on several occasions, and now some of my co-workers are getting attitude from her as well. Sorry you don't like your job, lady. Maybe you shouldn't be working with the publc if you feel the need to belittle people who ask for assistance. Everyone else at this library is helpful and friendly, but that one mean person made me not want to go back. Sad. Thankfully there are other libraries in town. read more

While I appreciate the fact that they JUST recently added dvd's to their collection, I cannot help but miss the Orange County Library system. It's amazing that these two counties right next to each other have such a difference in the library system. Realizing that Orange County library services a much bigger county and therefore, I expect they have a much larger budget. I love that I can do everything online with Seminole County. The only downside I can see is that the library is closed on Fridays. I've always had a wonderful experience with this library and can only sing it's praises. read more

The Seminole County Library is huge and even has conference rooms for meetings, the space here is very large and you can find many books. Like someone mention on one of the reviews they do not have a movie section, good library and good to read and learn something new. read more

I've been coming here at least twice a week for the last month to use the computers until I get my own and they suck. I can only get onto my school's site about 25% of the time, even though my phone and tablet will log into the site just fine.
