Several times nobody showed up to our home to help care for my 91 year old father, and the staff didn't bother to let us know they had not found a caregiver to fill the request. I cannot recommend this company because of the poor communication and failure to follow through on requests for care.

I finally had to drop them and find other services. They will promise you the world, but can not deliver. People in office are very nice...but hands are tied. One person they sent had one job, stay by my wife's side so she did not take off bandage...could not handle that, left room to take a break, luckily nursing home staff stopped that my wife had removed bandages and ambulance had to be called. I have more...but you get the idea.

The staff was very proactive in finding the right caregiver to meet our needs and we were very pleased to have been assigned a caregiver who was compassionate, kind, and did a wonderful job managing my husband's changing needs over the past 18 months. The scheduling staff was very thorough and responsive to emails and calls. Home visits were scheduled periodically to check in on the dynamics between my husband and our caregiver. We recently terminated services only because my husband has progressed to the point that he no longer requires a daytime caregiver, but Assisting Hands was there for us in a time of great need and we were most appreciative for the great service!

They couldn't…read more They charged us for care shifts while my loved one was in the hospital after being taken by ambulance from her husband's funeral because we didn't give them 3 days notice to cancel. They sent caregivers that had absolutely no prior caregiving experience let alone the ability to use a Hoyer lift that my loved one requires or understand working with dementia which my loved one also requires. They sent caregivers that literally would leave my loved one parked in front of the window sleeping while they took a nap in a chair behind her. When we started providing feedback, they told us that we have too many family members visiting (her husband passed 5 days after the company started providing services - we had a lot of family stuff going on) and we needed to back away and let them be the only ones to take care of her. The owner was unprofessional in every way. A true used car salesman type that would say anything to make a dollar. He hung up on us, called us names and then started dropping shifts without notice. When I stopped in the office to ask what shifts they were planning to fill ongoing (as they had dropped over 70 hours in the last week without any notice), the owner literally went psycho. He started yelling that he couldn't believe I would show up unannounced to his office and that I would never be able to be pleased. He acted like a child stomping around the office when I tried to ask a staff member a question and he physically pushed me out the door and stomped on my foot when I stood up to him. Then, as I'm leaving down the hall, he comes out another door to call me a name and get the last word in. This was all in the matter of one month. Seriously do some research before engaging with this psycho. The stories that I've heard from other companies and the police are even crazier than mine....
