I recently used sensational sounds for my graduation event. I have had previous bad experiences with other DJ companies. However, from start to finish, from planning to the end of the actual event, Andy was reassuring and fun. He understood my needs and coordinated with me to have what I wanted but in an acceptable price range. He was always available to talk and never made me feel like he was too busy. Whether there were 5 people or all 80 people on the dance floor, it was an up beat and fun time. Im pretty sure it could have just been me at the party and it would have felt like a 200 person event lol! Him and his team mates were engaging and understood my visualization of the night. The Best DJ in Long Island! He was the DJ for my wedding and everything was exceptional.

This past weekend we had a large party at our home for my youngest daughters 10 yr anniversary. Everything was perfect except this vendor. I contacted a few DJ's but all were booked. I understand it was the mother's day weekend and many parties going on. I came across this company and initially was super impressed. I dealt with Cathy who was a sweetheart and assured me the party would be amazing. She communicated with me about the date and type of party. She told me Shawn or Sean would be our DJ. There were about 20 kids there so she promised to send props. I also provided a play list of about 15 songs. No problem from Cathy. So what went wrong? Instead of Sean, Will shows up. I have to provide a table for him to set up. BTW, I had a tent set up for him to be comfortable. Will was a little older and seemed a little confused. I asked About the play list I sent. At first he was lost. Didn't have it couldn't find it. A big mess. We asked for dance music but he seemed to play children's music most of the night. Finally I asked why he didn't play any of the songs I requested. He swore he did, but of all the people there no one heard them. When ever I looked over at him he was standing in the corner dancing with himself. He attempted to sing but that fell flat. A very very big disappointment and I will never use these people again and I suggest you avoid them like the plague. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. A good lesson for m Update..... About 2 weld agp, and 3 weeks after I wrote this review I was contacted by Cathy from Sensational Sounds. If you read my review you'll remember that I commented on how sweet she was. On this day she was so upset about my review, and I will say she came across as very sincere. She was very apologetic about our experience. She remembered our conversations, repeating some of the discussions back to me. I mentioned that Will the DJ that showed up didn't play any of the requested songs. She told me she remembered my list and made a disc and gave it to Will. What happened to it. I have no idea. Long story short she offered a partial refund amounting to about half the cost. I felt this was very generous on her part. I received a check about a week later with a letter from Cathy, again apologizing. One caveat. "Remove the negative review". I feel that to remove the original review would be unethical and basically a bribe. Sorry Cathy, I can't in good conscience remove the original review but I can add Stars for your sincere apology and compensation for the poor experience we had with Will. I can suggest that you might give them a try. I'm sure Cathy will do her best to make sure your experience is as you expect, unfortunately I would never recommend Will as a DJ. I received an answer to my inquiry for my daughter's surprise 14th karaoke birthday party. It was a text w a video of someone in it saying that they had the perfect person to do the party- Bruno Mars-ish. I called and spoke to Andrew. We went over details, I sent deposit. Thought we were good to go. He sent 2 boys to run the party here. 1 was 20 1 was 18. They didn't speak the whole night, like zombies, definitely NOT interactive. They didnt even say or sing happy birthday to my girl. They came completely unprepared. They said they were never told it was karaoke party. They had no karaoke screen, no HDMI cable to connect. I immediately called Andrew and said what is happening here? He said oh thats an easy fix- go get a monitor or tv screen and an HDMI cable- Im sure your husband has one and they can hook it up. I had to disassemble my son's PS5 monitor and bring it downstairs to them and find an HDMI for them to use, by then, the girls were losing interest completely. THEN the mics they were using stopped working. The girls tried to keep singing but it Was into dead mics. I booked this company for a few hrs and the girls wound up leaving them and going outside on the deck to just sit and talk because the situation was so bad- and these girls LOVE music. I can not redo this night. It was a disaster. Andrew wrote to me with some excuse about the dj- and send me a bit of a refund- even offered to do my daughters sweet 16 for free. As if after that nightmare I would give them another chance. NEVER. Totally ruined my daughter's special night. read more

I loved booking both through one company, and as a family-owned business, I knew I was getting the best!! They were upfront and very accessible leading up to the event, and very professional all day. He played all of the music we asked for, including songs for the little ones, which they loved! Cathy was taking pictures every moment and quick to jump in whenever I asked her to grab a special shot. WHAT AN AMAZING COMPANY! We used them for our wedding in June and I cannot say enough good things. Because of COVID, a lot of our guests couldn't come and the service wasn't great for zoom, so one of the DJs stepped in and filmed the whole wedding ceremony for us so we didn't have to wait for our videographer to show everything to our family! The party DID NOT STOP and they were so good at checking in with me to make sure that we were enjoying the music. We recently had our daughters sweet 16, and we used Sensational Sounds as the DJ entertainment company. This company is absolutely Amazing. We had Andy as the mc and Carmine as the DJ, and Cathy as the coordinator. We did not have to do Anything. They had photo guys, videographer, and a photo booth and there attention to detail was AMAZING. What a professional company. Now for the young kids at the party. They had all the 15-21 yr old people on the dance floor from beginning to the end of the night. Not too mention they even got some of us older folks out there as well. I can't say enough about Cathy, she was by my daughters side as if she were a made of honor, my daughters dress got bunches up she was right there. She coordinated all the best family photos with there photo staff. Sensational Sounds also had a live singer who serenaded our daughter with 2 live songs. OMG I thought I was watching American Idol. This company is truly a master of the craft. The 16 Candle ceremony was absolutely beautiful. We stopped in to there office and told them what we wanted and needed and it just got done, without any issues. We will be using you're company for any of our future endeavors. Two years ago, I arranged to have this company provide entertainment for my company's holiday party. They were advertising a holiday special, around $350 or so for the 4 hours. I thought this was great. I provided a song list that spanned 4 decades, so they would have to do little to no work. I e-mailed the list to them, then I printed one out to bring to the party... the DJ played MAYBE 5 of the songs. The DJ also didn't let ONE song finish, it was almost all remixes, and some songs no one even knew! I was so disappointed that I left a negative review here, which I NEVER do. But it was that bad. I then get a call from the owner, he was very apologetic about our terrible experience, and asked that if I take the negative review down, that he would provide entertainment for my company's holiday party again for 2017, at no charge and they would play the songs that we wanted. I agreed to this, sincerely hoping they would be better. I unfortunately couldn't attend this party as I was on maternity leave. However, I heard from almost every single employee who attended the party, that the DJ was even WORSE than the year prior! People told me the party was not fun at all, because the music flat out sucked. Now, perhaps if you pay regular price for their services, they will be able to follow simple instructions. But unfortunately I have to leave this bad review because I tried them 2 times in a row, the 2nd time was promised to be much better and was somehow even worse. Do not recommend at all. I just had my 30th Masquerade Bash on Sept 10th (Saturday night). The guests were ages 21-35 so the music was a big deal to me. My backyard has been officially renames "CLUB T". I had nothing to do with it but the music was so amazing, that everyone felt like they were out on the town, at a club. From the minute the music started, no one sat down, all the guests ate as fast as they could just so they could keep dancing. The attention to how, what, where and when i wanted the music to stop, start, which songs...everything was detailed. They truly made sure that i had the party outcome that i desired. Andy was just the best help at getting everything set up and my dj & photographer (whose names have escaped me..sorry guys..i luvd u though) were amazing. It was a masquerade theme and the guys wore masks, my guests were taken back by how friendly and just fun these guys were. I gave out their number to atleast a handful of people. I would use them for any and every event i have. Two things you just cant mess up with a party 1. Is the food...I cooked everything so you know it was great and 2. Is the music....Sensational Sounds doesnt do them justice, five stars isnt enough of a rating, sensational doesnt explain how amazing these guys were...They are officially part of my family, part of my memories Thank you guys for making 30 so amazing, i will never forget it ;) read more

From the moment that Nick and Noah, the DJ and MC, arrived, they worked nonstop to set up equipment, help us decorate the hall, take photographs, and begin playing the most energetic music to get the party going right away. They were so hard-working, always busy, whether it was taking photos (which were awesome, by the way), making announcements, dancing with the guests...you name it, they did it, and with enthusiasm all the way! The music was perfect for both younger and older guests alike; everybody was dancing the entire evening! They even came through for us by placing photos of the party that they had taken during the evening on the video screen when the photos we brought didn't work! In short, we were impressed by their professionalism and upbeat attitude every second of the night! They were polite and respectful to us and to all of our guests, and we received so many compliments from the guests on how great they were. They moved the party along, always knowing what to do and when to do it at the perfect time. We could not have been pleased more with Sensational Sounds, and we will definitely use them again for our next party. I hired sensational sounds to Dj my daughters sweet 16. I had been at 2 other party's that they did so thought nothing of hiring them. While I was there discussing the plans for my party I mention still needing a video guy and photographer. He then said they do that also showed me some of there work so I hired them. Well the day of the party it def was not a photographer! He was asking me what I wanted him to do. The pictures were awful there wasn't one family picture. And the video guy was terrible!! When I contacted the owner afterward he avoided me like the plague!!! As far as a business man he was a nightmare I would look for another Dj before I would hire him. I would never recommend this DJ service. They played only a few of our requested songs (why make us fill out a form if you are going to not use it), and we paid a premium for a light show and givaways for the children. They brought no lights and they gave absolutely NOTHING away!!! Every other DJ we looked at was several hundred dollars less but they sold us on the light show and giveaways for the children. Total lies! When we spoke to the DJ at our party he said he didn't work directly for Sensational Sounds and we would have to call them on Monday, it took several phone calls to speak with someone who promised to look into it and call back. He never called back. So we left several more messages before calling the credit card company and disputing only the difference between their DJ only service, and the one that added the light show and giveaways. They fought our dispute by claiming to have brought a light show and giveaways. A total fabrication! We have gathered 18 letters from guests and the restaurant proving that there was no light show or giveaways. Will follow up this review with the outcome to let everyone know if they lied again to the credit card company! Stay away from this DJ company!!! read more
