I thought I would give gravity floatation a try as I'm currently recovering from glandular fever…read moreand I am willing to try ANYTHING to reduce my fatigue. Anti-gravity floating claims it 'may' help with relaxation, recovery, sleep, pain relief and creativity & learning. Personally, it only hit the mark with the relaxation. In saying that, it is still a great experience which I would encourage people to try. The floatation pods contain liquid which is a solution of 600kg of epsom salts and water. The salt concentration is what causes your body to float on top of the water. The liquid is set to body temperature, so you cannot notice the water on your skin- hence the 'floating sensation'. There is a light switch inside the pod to control the pod lighting, and a neck pillow is also provided (which I needed to use to support my neck). Earplugs are also provided, so it is essentially complete sensory deprivation. Inside each room/suite there is a pod, shower, soap, conditioner and a towel. The best way I can describe the experience is like the meditation portion at the end of a yoga class, but even better. I found my muscles relaxed a lot more freely due to the anti-gravity. Once I stopped worrying about where my body was facing inside the pod, and whether I was going to bump into the sides, it was a very calming environment. Currently there is an introductory offer for new clients- $150 for 3 x 1hour float sessions (valid for 12 months). This equates to ~$49 per float, the normal casual rate is $79 per 1 hour float. My only criticism is that the hairdryers provided are cold air only- my hair was never going to dry using the hairdryers supplied!

Yay! Totally a fan of this place. After purchasing an intro offer of three floats (3hrs) on a bit…read moreof a whim, I have now been drawn into the total relaxation on offer here. The idea is you spend a minimum of a full hour inside one of the space age style pods floating in salt water. You have the option of lights or no lights and a calm wake up once your hour is over. The salt water causes you to float without any stress on your muscles, with the added benefit of 35*c water, you really feel like you are on a cloud. Gravity Float include an additional 15 mins either side of your appointment to shower / change etc... plus two types of tea are on offer at all times for a quick re-refreshment. Just remember, don't rub your eyes whilst in the water ;-)

I didn't know what to expect from a Float, as I had never had one before…read more The first one I had was in a double room with my husband. From the minute we were shown the actual float pool I was absolutely delighted. The door opened onto the pool and there were lights like stars in the ceiling. The water was warm and we were able to have the lights on or be in complete darkness. You are given ear plugs, to keep water out of your ears, they also make the experience great as you won't hear many sounds, just your own breathing. As I relaxed and floated in the warm water I felt I was able to take a deeper breath than I had taken for quite a while. I wasn't aware of moving, but found I ended up in a different position to when I started. Although random thoughts came into my mind I was able to push them away and just be in the moment. I have now had five Floats and have three more to go. The last four were in a single room. I can't recommend it enough. I was nervous and sceptical before the experience but will now have it as often as I can afford. It is cheaper than a visit to the Doctor and to me more beneficial. The premises are pristine and you will enjoy a soothing cup of herbal tea afterwards which has been selected to your own needs as you rest for about fifteen minutes. I do not sleep well. After a float I was able to sleep that night for five hours (a miracle for me) before waking. A friend recommended it to me, otherwise I would never have tried it. I just love it!
