Entrance with a traffic light is located both on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which the buildings face, & Kempsville Road. The location is also easily accessible from I-264. The handicapped parking is extremely convenient & plentiful at the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. The spaces face the entrance & continues around each side of the building. I've never had to park in the spaces that require a short walk. A covered circular drive thru is a convenient drop off point at the main entrance. No valet parking is available. I've had therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy & Sentara Therapy Center- Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I've had MRI's at the Advanced Imaging Center. My Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon does outpatient surgery in the building. But my recent Elbow Surgery, although outpatient, was scheduled at the hospital itself. The practice requires anyone who has a Cardiologist to have surgery at the hospital, where emergency personnel are more easily accessible. My experience with both therapy & the MRIs has been excellent. The equipment & facility is state of the art in this excellent sparkling clean Medical Center. Technology is sophisticated, extending as far as doors being opened by a sensor activated by the wave of a palm. There are also hand sanitizer stations in plentiful supply in the building. I'm very impressed by the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. It's now my location of choice for both Physical Therapy & Advanced Imaging,

It's much more professional and less sketchy than the previous. As before, clean and tidy inside with pamphlets on display and a few travel goodies like Bug Spray and Water Cleanse Bottles. I was greeted quickly by the friendly nurse on staff, Nancy, who was finishing up with her appointment before me. Since I was about 10 minutes early, she went ahead and saw me. She had printed out my information based upon the info I filled out beforehand (you should do that - it will save you both time). So we reviewed my immunization records from my doctor I had printed and what the CDC and Health Dept recommend for my travel locations. We went over the prices and submitting to my insurance options and made a plan for this trip - and another I have upcoming in October. I ended up getting the Typhoid pill series of 4 that you take over a week and immunity then lasts for up to a 5-year period (the shot only lasts for 2 years), the Yellow Fever Vaccine and the TdaP booster bc, while I have had a booster for Tetnus and Diptheria recently, none for whooping cough. So I went ahead and did it. Be prepared - they don't accept insurance - and these vaccines are costly and some of them are rare and not carried by most PCPs. My cost was over $550 out of pocket. I can submit for some reimbursement from my insurance but they don't typically cover vaccines like Yellow Fever (which was itself $279 for just that one) because you only need that if you choose to travel somewhere where it's active - so it's not really seen as preventative or routine. I'll hope for the best - but Nancy was so friendly and easy to talk to - she took great care of me and answered all of my questions - she filled out my little yellow passport vaccine book for my trip and added in the vaccines I've had since childhood just in case. A great experience. They deserve five stars.

Not all pharmacies in an area may have all vaccines; however, one may have it at a significant pricing savings versus a travel clinic. In my instance, I made 2 mistakes. 1 - not searching enough for a local pharmacy. 2 - not asking the price prior to the visit. My example is Passport Health charged $394 per vaccine and using a Good RX code cost $193 per vaccine at a local pharmacy. Paying in excess of 100% a competitors price was unnecessary and Passport Health pricing is exorbitant.

Disorganized, Unprofessional, and Inconsistent with Vendor Orders…read more As an 8th-year Hospital Corpsman with extensive experience in ER, inpatient, and outpatient settings, I am rarely shocked by clinic operations--but Leidos QTC in Norfolk is a glaring example of bad practice. My first appointment on 1/5/26 with Holly Reinke (Audiology) was excellent; she was professional and pleasant. However, my experience on 1/7/26 was unacceptable. My vendor explicitly booked this date for X-rays. Upon arrival, the facility staff claimed I was only there for a blood pressure check (redundant, as I am already diagnosed with hypertension and on medication). They further claimed I had two "ghost" appointments on 1/9 and 1/12 that were never booked by the vendor nor visible in my portal. When I questioned the front desk about why the portal listed "XRay LLC" as the provider, the staff member dismissed it as "just a name" and ended our conversation mid-sentence. When a coworker asked if I needed help, he dismissively stated, "Yeah, he's been helped already," with an unprofessional attitude. I confirmed with two separate QTC vendors immediately afterward that no BP check was required and no additional dates were scheduled. The facility effectively denied me my scheduled X-rays for no legitimate reason. Advice to fellow military personnel: The vendor (QTC) is the authority, not the clinic. If the vendor says you have an X-ray, do not let this facility turn you away or manufacture "extra" appointments. Demand the services authorized by your vendor. Also keep your VSO in the loop of any mishaps that aren't directly fixed with your Vendors first.
