The idea came to me that a specialist in home entertainment systems may be able to help me, This was last Saturday so I called Custom Automation Technologies, Inc. in New Albany who were open until 6 pm. The owner, Dan Hoehnen, answered my call, talked with me about my system, and said he would come out that same afternoon and take care of it. Which he did, for about 1.5 hours he skillfully integrated a Roku stick into my mini-network which consists of an 11 year old plasma TV, a DVR, Spectrum cable box, a 11 year old DVD player all controlled by an 11 year old Bose Life Style sound system. Others had failed at this integration task, but Dan knew exactly what had to be done. He explained every step as he worked so that when he was finished I had full Roku capability on my system. He also explained how I should access and use the new feature, even helping me to document every step in the process. To top it off, he invited me to call him anytime I have a problem or a question. In summary, I could not be happier with the service provided by Mr. Hoehnen and CATI. The service was fast, expert, courteous and totally effective. Thank you, Dan and CATI!     Purchased a setup from these guys thinking it would play nicely with my existing smart home setup…read more This was not the case (without paying an additional cost) and I wanted to return my equipment and cancel my subscription. Apparently (and I was not told this in person), it was a 36 month contract. I called to see if I could get out of it, and was met with a pretty nice gentleman who noted down my information and said that while he could not make the decision, he would forward the information along. It's been nearly two weeks and I have yet to hear back. I don't like to leave bad reviews, and would be happy to change this one if I could get some better communication. Update: I Called in. They said there were several notes on my account, they just never remembered to call me and update me. Long story short, there's nothing they can do. And even though I was never verbally informed about the 36 month contact, I am still responsible for paying out the 1500.00 to get out of the contract. This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had with customer support. This is aside from the fact that I've also had their entry sensors falling off my windows and setting of the tamper alarm. For those looking for security systems for your home, I'd recommend something like SimpliSafe. Its cheaper. There's no contract. And you do not need an additional subscription to get basic Google Home support.

    Shady as F! Expensive. This is NOT ADT! They are a 3rd party, overpriced, fly-by-night SCAM!!…read more My husband & I got a significant security package. However, the thermostat installed has never worked (it turns out, they aren't licensed to even install it even though they DID!). Also, they did not install any of the detectors until 3 days later; when they did so, they tried to fix the thermostat which was running AC non-stop, even though it was set to heat, but didn't - it now only runs heat nonstop, even when it's set to off. In doing so, they also pulled out wires from the connection & broke a jumper chip. I went to the grocery store, & when I came back the house was 81*F! The only way to get the heat to stop running is to literally pull the thermostat off the wall. APPARENTLY YOU CAN ONLY RETURN ITEMS 3 DAYS AFTER SIGNING, not 3 BUSINESS days, & not 3 days after install!!! ADT, however, gives you 6 MONTHS! ...So even though the thermostat has NEVER WORKED & even though NONE of our detectors were installed until 3 days later, Safe Haven Security won't let us return ANYTHING!!! Customer service told us we have to have technicians fail to fix the thermostat 3 times (more that the previous 2). The manager we spoke with stonewalled us & basically said "too bad, we have clauses in our contracts that protect us & not you." No one has done anything to help us, EXCEPT ADT! They are working to help us. Safe Haven? Nada! Wish I would've known from the get-go that we were dealing with a 3rd party vendor & not ADT directly! But I DIDN'T, because the sales person said "Hi, I'm ______ with ADT!" And "we contract out our installations, but it's just how ADT does things." Like I said... 100% SHADY SCAM!!!

    Had vivent for 4 years, half the time the products didn't work. Horrible customer service. When…read moretrying to cancel the product, I spent 40 minutes on the phone being told of new promotions, and options available to me. I got transferred four times and was told that the next person would be able to cancel my account. Just to find out they wanted to give me other options. This was so bad i had to record the call. After 40 minutes the manager got on the phone and proceeded to do the same thing. Tried to give me options to keep the service. It wasn't until i threatened them that I am also recording the call and that I will be writing a review that she had to give one more option before finally getting to the cancellation. I would never buy this product again. Not even because it wasn't a good product. The customer service is total shit! Do not waist your time with a company that doesn't value loyal customers!

    My husband and I have been having issues with seeing the live feeds from all 3 cameras on our app…read more This issue has been going on a month or so. The first time I called, the techs did a trouble shoot. They rebooted the panel and all three cameras 3 times and we were still having the same issue. They had a tech come out to check the cameras. The tech stated that 2 of the cameras were fine but 1 of them (doorbell camera) needed to be replaced. So we received an doorbell camera at no cost. My app worked for a little while and then stopped working again but my husband was never able to see his live feed on his app. I called back again and the tech performed a trouble shoot again by rebooting the cameras and having me go outside to trigger the apps to see if it work. It did work for me for a short time but my husband still was not able to see his live feed. The biggest issue is that when the camera's are triggered, we cannot see the live feed when we tap on the notification that pops up on our phones. We call again yesterday, 2/25/2026. The tech performed another trouble shoot by rebooting the cameras and having me go outside and trigger the cameras to see if my husband and I can see the live feed from the notification on our phones. It would work once and then when triggering it again it doesn't work. They had us uninstall and install the app on our phone a couple of times, which helped but only after a couple of times the camera's were triggered. I had to call them back a few times yesterday because they instructed to give them a call back if it happens again. After doing this repeatedly and still not getting any results, I request to speak to a manager. Previously, on a call, I was informed that there was an upgrade to our cameras that would perform better. They asked what type of cell phones we had. When I told them that they were Androids, they informed that they have been getting the same calls from Android users and they were aware of a software issue they were having. They could not give me any ETA of when the issue would be fixed. After all of this, I wanted to speak to an manager to request a free upgrade because we have been having this issue for over a month, calling multiple times and we are still having this issue. The manager told my husband and I that they would give us a $75 discount on our bill but could not give us the free upgrade. They could give us a 25% discount on the cameras. This has been a headache. I explained to them that this could possibly be a bad situation. What if someone was trying to break into our home or garage while we are at home and we try to look at out live feed and can't do it risking our lives to look out an window? What if we are away from home and cannot see the feed to see what is going on? We still were told that this is the only thing they can do. We pay our monitoring service every month on time and we are valued customers due to my husband being a military vet. We feel that they have not taken care of us. We are still having this issue.
