I was told to just drop off the item at the front desk but apparently that wasn't the case. I was given the key to the storage locker which was way on the other side of the building. Actually, I approached this building from 99th Street going South and pulled into the parking lot as soon as I saw the sign. Apparently that was the opposite side of the building that I was supposed to be at. The building is NOT exclusively Sentinel Self-Storage, there are business offices or something that I saw when I entered the first door. Then saw a sign that said something about going "next door" for the self-storage. The next door I saw was locked, so I continued around the building until finally I saw a loading dock, then the main office entrance. This is a very confusing place to figure out if you haven't been before. When they give you the key, they show you on a map where it is. It reminded me of going to a cemetery and being shown the plot map. Inside the storage locker on the back wall, I caught a glimpse of the most hideous spider I'd ever seen! EEEWW! There's a reason I don't keep stuff in storage.

Now our insurance is holding us liable because he's denying that he was driving. Johnson insurance is increasing our rates 10% and we are liable for the deductible. WARNING. Don't store your RV at these compounds because no one wants to take responsibility. They don't have adequate video surveillance. Only have it at the entrance and exit I was told by the manager. Once someone's inside there's no video surveillance on the i RV grounds. We have to pay for this This is so unfair.

I just moved from Edmonton to Vancouver and as you know so much has changed due to Covid 19. It is affecting everything! Such a stressful time. Bob of Alberta First Choice Moving Systems was the only person who actually come to my one bedroom apartment to give an estimate of how much my move would cost. Social distancing was observed. My son helped me with all this and he collected several bids from different moving companies. Alberta First Choice was the best bid. I have 3800 pounds of stuff! I am almost 60 and it is all my precious memories and things... I bought U Haul boxes cause they are the best deal, around $2 for the large ones. I bought 45, used all but 7. I bought really good duct tape. You don't want your stuff falling out of the bottom of boxes on the street. Cheaper duct tape is not a good idea. This moving company wraps your furniture in heavy blankets, pretty sweet really. The day the moving gentle men came to load up my stuff was amazing. They were super fast and polite. They observed physical distancing and wore masks. These guys are strong!! I have lead crystal (seriously, I collect it at thrift stores). I tried to even the weight out in the boxes...if I had heavy things like books on the bottom of a box I put light things like towels and clothes in the rest of the box. But they were still pretty heavy. Sorry guys, I tried, lol... When my stuff arrived in Vancouver the moving guys unloaded it super fast and carefully. I had cleared the whole kitchen area to put the boxes as they arrived so it was less chaotic. And because the boxes were all the same size they could be stacked neatly. All the furniture went into the bedroom to make it easier to organize later. 2 drinking glasses broke during the move but only because I did not pack them properly. I got tired of packing and just kind of threw the last ones in a box. An Ikea dresser got wonky when it arrived after it's journey but I had moved that dresser 2 or 3 times already and moving is tough on Ikea furniture. My son was able to fix it. No problems. But everything else was fine, which is amazing when you consider it was all packed by me, I am no expert, and it had to be driven in a giant semi truck 1200 km in the winter over the mountains! So I am finally unpacking my pretty things here in Vancouver, and my new place is looking pretty great. Not fancy, but cozy and comfortable. I want to really thank Bob and his great team of guys for helping me make this big move in kind of scary times, most of the world on lockdown due to the virus...I wish you and your families all the best!! The movers themselves were nice but definitely in the end prolonging the time and then the owner was not accommodating at all when we discussed the price. How can you take a quote from 500 to almost $1800 what if I didn't have the money to pay that? I moved into a condo and they were using every single excuse saying that I have a $35 box rental for my TV and whatever else even though we were the ones who plastic wrapped pretty much everything that needed to be wrapped the movers didn't need to take their time wrapping stuff that didn't need to be the owner called me and said that the couch took a long time to take apart. It comes apart in sections and it's very light weight and it instantly just lifts up. It doesn't take any time at all so that was a lie the only thing that took time was the beds to come apart and that's just two bed frames that are very lightweight as well. I would never recommend using this company. Also, when I was complaining about the price, I ended up paying it because I didn't have a choice and then I called back to dispute it and they wouldn't call me back now. They're refusing my phone calls and they won't call me back. Because they know they ripped me off they charge 170 an hour, which is fine. If it's 170 an hour times six that's 1,020 and 35 rental for a box and how ever much for a king size mattress, plastic. And I added the extra hour for the driving time because they charge you $170 just to get to you so I feel completely scammed. Avoid this company.

Three guys came to do move everything from her suite in an independent living seniors apartment building. These guys were really quick, and very careful with all our Mom's antique fragile furniture. They were pleasant to deal with, and didn't have the simplest job to do. While packing things in and out of the elevator, various seniors would ask them to be taken to different levels of the building. They didn't want to use up time, but at the same time were helpful and considerate, realizing that some of these seniors really didn't realize they were imposing. Even when one older lady felt put out and and chastized them for DOING THEIR JOB, they guys kept their cool, their sense of humour, and continued to be polite and respectful of the residents. These guys were amazing!! I was already completely impressed with the job being done, when later that evening I got a call from their supervisor. Our Mom had in later years been in the habit of hiding money throughout her suite, and we had found a lot during the packing stage of the move. We got a call that the movers had found a money pouch stuffed between the cushions of the couch, containing some jewelry and over a thousand dollars cash. Once again I was so impressed!! The integrity and honesty shown by all the staff was beyond amazing, and I couldn't stop raving to their supervisor. This whole situation with the move was above and beyond expected. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone in need of moving and/or storage facilities. They are AWSOME!!!
