Worth the visit. Smaller zoo in Eureka with an amazing Sky Walk among the redwoods. There are also trails below the Sky Walk outside of the zoo with public access.

The zoo was recommended with the redwoods bridge, black bear, and red pandas. The ticket was a bit high if you bring a family but I can see spending a whole day here with kids. Some of the animals were not out so don't expect to see every single animal there. The staff were nice, help explained what is going on. Highly recommended for kids under 10.

Such a well done local zoo! Plenty of walking space, and interactive displays. We had a lovely day out here, enjoyed the petting zoo area, flamingos, watching a bear bathe, and monkeys play. Inside the park, included with admission is the skywalk. It's a gorgeous walk up in the redwood trees. We didn't have enough time this trip, but next time I'd love to explore the trails on the ground! Lovely friendly staff, clean grounds and plenty of food options. If you are on the fence, don't think.. just go!

This is a very small zoo! We came here to go on the skywalk and since it was included in the entrance to the zoo, we decided to walk around and see the exhibits they offered. You can probably go thru the zoo in less than an hour. They have flamingos, birds, monkeys and a bear exhibit. They have a good size souvenir shop and there's a food shop as well! They have clean restrooms and customer service was super nice! Quick and fun visit!

Eureka's Fun Size Zoo [Eureka CA] This is a smaller intimate zoo located in Eureka. To my understanding it is one of the smallest accredited zoos in the country, not to mention the oldest zoo in the state! The zoo is clean, spacious and well maintained. It was nice walking around since it was a smaller venue. The animal exhibits featured a range of species from various habitats. We enjoyed seeing the different creatures and since the zoo was small, it was easy to navigate around, the exhibits were in close proximity to each other, allowing us to efficiently see all the animals in one visit. My absolute favorite were the Chilean flamingoes... I think flamingos are such pretty amazing birds, the river otters were fun to watch too. Sadly, there are no more red pandas. There is a small cafeteria inside the park offering burgers, sandwiches, pizza, salads and sides. Admission price included the Redwood Sky Walk experience (separate Yelp check-in) and may be purchased at the Zoo ticket booth on the day of your visit. We spent about 2-1/2 hours inside the park. Even though the zoo was small I still enjoyed it and what it had to offer. Instagram: @sequoiaparkzoo Review #3769

Highly recommend this zoo! It was very small and quaint but the animals that were there seemed very happy and at peace. The Redwood Sky Walk was also amazing and the views from the trees were so beautiful. If you have EBT the tickets are only $4!

My group really enjoyed our zoo visit. Don't look for large animals (e.g. elephants, big cats, giraffes), but what they have is presented beautifully and surrounded by redwoods including a terrific sky walk that puts you up in the air overlooking everything. The docents are friendly and knowledgeable.

It's been months since we visited but here's a review anyway. I was dissapointed that the zoo was smaller than I anticipated. It took us an hour and 30 minutes to finish our visit. That's including the Skywalk. I was impressed watching Sumo, the only red panda left among its kin, having a bamboo lunch served by his zookeeper. This was our first time seeing this species. The flamboyance of flamingos and the roughhousing orphan bears were our points during that day. The giftshop was underwhelming but it did house the zoo's other notable critters Despite the flaws, it was still a feat having visited California's oldest and one of the USA's smallest accredited zoo.

Always a pleasant visit. Zoo staff is always friendly and informative. I buy membership annually. Skywalk is spectacular and it's always fun seeing the animals. I enjoy the burgers at the zoo café.

This is a small, well kept and card for zoo. There is a beautiful sky bridge through some red wood trees. It's mostly shady and the gift shop is quite small - a plus in my book because it's not overwhelming. The red panda was not on display because its habitat was being upgraded, but a staff member allowed me to glimpse through a window to where the red panda is being kept and sure enough! He was there!

I love this zoo so much. It's the perfect size - I can see everything or just what I want each time (Psst: the annual pass is the way to go if you live in the area and an even better deal if you're a wise senior like myself!) The walkway is a great way you can get a bird's eye view of the zoo's inhabitants.

Maybe I'm not quite in the swing still of pricing in 2024 (ha! It's November!) because EVERYTHING just seems so expensive---everywhere all the time!!! So, it seemed a little $$ to us. - tiny, shoddy zoo with very few animals + beautiful, terrific, fabulous skywalk in the redwoods--- pink flamingos All in all it's a nice 2 hours.

If only they had actual housecats on site, LOL

This is apparently the oldest zoo in California, which makes me embarrassed that I didn't know this. No, it isn't particularly huge, and I wish the cost was a bit less, but what they do have is outstanding, particularly the otters and the Redwood Tree Walk - I went here on a wet day without a lot of people around, and it was rather relaxing, making me think about what is really important in life.

Nice visit at the garden [Eureka CA]…read more Just outside the zoo's northern perimeter is the Sequoia Park Garden on W Street. Street parking is available just outside of the entrance. The forecast was partly cloudy in the mid 50's. The garden isn't very big but I enjoyed the variety of flowers that were in bloom which is generally between May and September. Our visit was during the Memorial Day weekend. Took some time taking lots of photos of the colorful blooms including a collection of gorgeous dahlias... wish they had labels for all the flowers for us who are botanically illiterate. Flowers are beautiful subjects for photography that's why I love botanical gardens. The garden also featured a wishing well and a gazebo for small gatherings and events and, also, a small sundial, unfortunately, there was no sun at that time to tell the time of day ツ Sadly, we weren't able to go across to the park. Hubby already had too much walking for the day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Review #3771

The trees are massive and nice to look at the vast variety. The Redwood Canopy Trail was cool to explore and is pretty short.
