I was in Manly the other day enjoying a growler of 4 Pines beer at Little Manly Beach with a friend. The sun had set and before we knew it, we were starving. We had also missed the dinner hour.
Walking through the Curso, it became clear that at the ripe young hour of 10:10, we weren't easily going to be able to find an open kitchen. Even the Steyne had closed the restaurant. Tucked right around the corner, a beacon of openness glowed it's florescent lights in our direction. Sar Bar Kebab, it is.
I ordered a regular chicken kebab (sans cheese) with hummus and chilli sauce. The worker's fast fingers threw my dinner together with ease and familiarity. 5 minutes and $6 later (each, of course), we were out the door with our take away dinner.
Across the street on the Manly Beach steps, we chowed down. It could have been the hunger (exaggerated by large volume beer consumption), but that kebab was absolutely delicious and totally hit the spot.
