I was able to tell her about the pain in my left arm as well as my neck and she listened attentively. She was then able to target specific areas as well as other muscles I have over-extended and didn't know. Friendly and positively beaming with such passion and talent for massage, Julia has gone above and beyond my expectations during both my visits so far. Her facility is clean, comfortable and convenient to get to, with free customer parking around the corner of the building on King Ed. If you have time to spare, you could even stay to use the sauna and shower on-site. Rates at CC Massage are among the lowest I've seen for an RMT in Vancouver but quality of care and service are among the best. Julia is very accommodating with scheduling, though when word gets out about how great she is, appointments may become harder to get by so I'd give her a call sooner than later. When I reserved my time online, I typed in my email address incorrectly, so they called and let me know. I appreciated the reminder. When I met my therapist the first time, Michelle, she asked which part of my body needs attention, then had me stood up to check on my posture and providing feedback. The evaluation was very short, so she could start working on me. Once I was on the massage table, Michelle started working, her voice was calm while guiding me to take deep breathes. She made very little conversation during the session so I can relax, but she did point out on the major issue on my body that is causing problems, so I can notice. Michelle's massage technic was exceptional, very solidly strong but gentle, not the kind that dig into the muscles causing pain, her pressure was very consistent throughout the session. She used forearm pressure instead of the elbow to apply more pressure, I appreciated that because the pressure from the forearm is more gentle comparing to sharp pressure from elbow. Michelle used very little oil so I wasn't all greased up at the end. She had a good playlist with more loungey Jazz lo-beat music than those water running zen music makes me wana go pee all the time. It's best to call the clinic to make reservation if you like to book with Michelle, since her schedule changes. The receptionist was very helpful when booking my next appointment. Yes, it can hurt-- but it's that good hurt you feel when you work out and you know it's actually having an impact. Yes, I can leave with risidual pain cursing out of my head from a headache. I go to foot massage every month for past 5 years. We booked at last minute for foot massage and got the worst massage! My masseur wore plastic gloves for entire 1.5 hour massage. They also used wooden stick tool and pressed on pressure points. We had to keep telling them it hurt and even asked them DON'T use it. But, they said it's helpful if a knot needs to be broken up, or if a reflexology point for a particular organ needs reaching as sometimes the thumb can be too blunt. However, my mom got blues on her feets and couldn't walk next day. Sorry, I didn't bother to ask their name coz I would never go back again.
