Honestly, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. The customer service is awful, and the quality of every service--overlay, dip, gel, you name it--is equally disappointing. I only chose to come here because I didn't feel like driving to the coast to see my regular nail tech. I should've made the drive, because I ended up wasting $90 at this salon. My overlay started lifting the very next day. When I went back to have it repaired, they switched to dip instead--without explaining why. The day after that, the dip chipped and completely broke on my ring finger. When I returned for the third time, the technician actually had an attitude with me, as if I was the problem. I had a nail tech who was obviously new and did not understand much Englis. I repeatedly asked her not to put my shoes on because my nails were not dry. She did it anyway. she had to fix my nails. The manager or owner get t very mad and loudly interfered without knowing what happened. I asked her to lower her voice but she continued to scream. The dip is not applied correctly and is already peeling off even though I had it done yesterday. 3. The guy who did my mani pedi didn't cover all my nails with polish and parts of my nail are still showing. 4. The guy who did mine actually took a break in the middle of my service to play on his phone. 5. It took 2 entire hours for him to complete my mani pedi. The lady who did my nails was in such a hurry to finish quickly. I'm not at all please with the work she did. Some nails are shaped differently and one is actually crooked. I'm not one to complain or leave bad reviews, so just believe me when I say I definitely don't recommend this place. I was charged $60 for a dip manicure, which most would agree is way too much. As if this wasn't bad enough, this salon also does not follow the proper sanitary guidelines they should. A lady next to me was getting her nails done when the nail tech caused her to bleed. I watched as this nail tech applied nail glue to the ladies finger that was bleeding to try to stop the bleeding. This is completely unsanitary and the nail tech should have stopped what she was doing to take care of the issue. Don't waste your time. My friend and I walked in for a pedicure at 2:10 and it's is currently 3:15. My pedicure is almost done and my friend hasn't even been approached. I asked one of the ladies if she could take my friend because we have to be back to work soon and she rudely shrugged and said "we're short staffed" after multiple workers have taken manicures and brow waxes. One lady was plucking her own eyebrows and told us "I don't do pedicures". I've been to serenity several times and i've enjoyed it each time. i've only gotten one pedicure there and it was completely satisfactory, but every other time i go for a full set of acrylics. the first set i got was beautiful, the second set was a little rushed and sloppy looking, and the third and latest set was amazing. i think the girls name was tina perhaps? she did a wonderful job. she continually made sure that everything she did was painless and was very persistent about comparing length and angle on every nail to ensure that they were all identical. she was even so helpful to help me find the exact nail polish i wanted and then find a gel color nearly identical so i had options. i went with the gel option and i am so pleased with how they turned out. this trip solidified that serenity will be my go to nail spa. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I went here for my birthday less than a week ago and my nails have never looked worse. My pedicure was perfect and I loved the result. But the man who did my fingers is the absolute worst employee I've ever seen anywhere. He was very rushed (like he wanted to go on break) and extremely rough with my hands and nails. He was also on his phone the entire time, and got up and disappeared halfway through my manicure. I told him I wanted a square shape with the length in the picture but marble on all of my nails instead of 2. When it was time to do the design he leaned over to his boss and asked if she could do it. Apparently he didn't know how and neither did she. She took one look at my terribly shaped and painted nails and spoke to him in Vietnamese "Those are an ugly shape. Did she ask for that?" She tried to talk me into another completely different design with polish already on my nails! So I just got up to pay out and leave. He tried to quote me $105 for a gel manicure with "design on all ten fingers". And I just showed him my terribly shaped, design-less nails and asked what the real price was, and ended up paying $70 for the mani and pedi. He then beat me out of the front door and left in his car on his break. Ridiculous. Will not be going back until they get rid of him. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. New in town, this place was recommended by a friend so I went and now I regret it horribly. I asked for a power dip manicure and a regular pedicure. They quoted me $40 for dip mani and $35 for pedicure on the phone. Dip was sloppily done, there was no mani, when I asked the guy, he said "oh yeah, I'll cut your cuticle later" ... um what? Who cuts cuticles AFTER putting on dip!? Never in my entire life have I ever been given a "manicure" after having dip put on. Maybe they do things differently in the rest of the country and perhaps even rest of the MS because all my adult life I have yet to be told that mani is done AFTER putting on dip. He didn't clean under my nails, didn't really do much of anything for a manicure expect apply powder dip and be done. Somehow him clipping 1-2 of my dry cuticles (didn't even soak my nails) equals $15.... then he spent a total of 10 minutes on my pedicure! I kid you not I literally TIMED it!! So $35 for a 10 minute pedicure where my cuticles weren't cut properly and everything was rushed. Then he literally just smeared mud over my feet and wrapped it in towel and disappeared for 20 minutes. Think it can't get worse? Oh it does. Then he had the audacity to quote me $90 because he added a "manicure" to my "dip powder" nails.... um what? First of all there was nothing "manicure" about what he did to my dry nails. Then when I insisted that wasn't the price I was quoted on the phone, 4 of the store workers loudly started proclaiming it was indeed correct while rest of the customers watched. I don't like drama, I'm pretty non confrontational and there is really NEVER a need for someone to yell from across the salon and create a scene to tell me how I'm wrong when they literally admitted the girl who answered the phone didn't know the mani was add on. Everything about this whole place seemed so sketchy! It'd be different if he actually did the mani and then charged me for it but he didn't even do the mani part and still charged me simply because I asked him when he would do my mani because he started putting powder on my nails right away. Maybe it's just this one guy I dealt with who is so sloppy and incompetent and straight up running a scam but I'm never coming back here. I got gel nails on a Tuesday. By the next Tuesday three of my nails had major chips. By Wednesday, four had chipped. I went in to show them. When I mentioned that they were chipped within a week they said .... yeah, that's about right. They start chipping after that. DO NOT get your nails done here!!! Worst nail experience I've ever had: I went in for a Shellac manicure. Robert is who did my nails. I file my nails pretty regularly at home so I just told him to shape them up and that I like them square. My "manicure" consisted of his terrible filing (he didn't even make my nails even... Seriously they're all a little slanted on one side) and buffing them. That was it, he didn't even clip my cuticles! My cuticles are dry so they needed to be clipped! He told me to wash my hands and then started polishing. There were still little "scraggly" pieces of my nail hanging from his poor buffing job. During the entire service he seemed to be more interested in his phone than me, the person who is helping pay his phone bill with my service!!!! After polishing I went to pay, all I had was $100 bill and when he broke it for me he inconsiderately threw the change on the counter without handing it to me. It's called customer service... After a few days my gel polish was already peeling so I was very upset Bc this was more expensive than regular polish and is suppose to last. Gel polish only lasts if it is applied correctly and obviously my set was not. I proceeded to call the shop to let them what was going on with my gel polish and they inform me to come into the shop. When I arrived they were very RUDE and the nail tech that had completed my gel set stated that she did not remember me so instead of arguing and trying to convince her and the staff I left. I just moved to town and went here on the recommendation of a couple coworkers- I wish I hadn't wasted my time and money. I walked in and waited for a couple minutes, then was asked what I needed. I responded that I wanted an SNS (powder) polish with a manicure, and the man who asked never spoke, just pointed to a chair. I sat down and picked a color, from a very slim selection compared to other salons I've used. He filed my nails down to short, sad little nubs- they were far from short when I came in and I asked specifically for them not to be made any shorter. He filed, buffed, and painted my nails, etc. He never spoke a single word until he curtly informed me how much money I owed. He also never soaked my hands, trimmed my cuticles, or did any part of the manicure I asked for. There was no cuticle oil used, no lotion, nothing.
