This is the only youth wrestling club in Scottsdale AZ. I highly recommend having your kids sign up. The seasons last about 6-8 weeks long and this is a year round sport. The coaches all come from college level or higher and are very knowledgeable. You can tell they truly care about their students and they want to help kids learn. Within a few short months I have already noticed their confidence and self esteem skyrocketing. The Shaw Butte Little League fields are what Little League fields should be. They're located on…read morethe grounds of Shaw Butte elementary school, but they definitely built for Little League. They have bleachers and lights for night games, and building dedicated to snacks. The fields have grass infields and they are definitely "broke in". The are well kept considering they are not professionally kept, but mowed and managed by parents throughout the history of the league. The fields feature scoreboards but they could use some sort of PA system. There's nothing like having your name announced when you come up to the plate. I visited the fields recently for the 10th annual TOPs tournament which features 9-10 yr old all star Little League teams from District 2 and other Little Leagues nearby. It's the 3rd one in 3 years I've attended. I think it's a great little tournament for players of this age. Five days of baseball and on with your summer!

I spent a modest amount of time in many elementary schools, both as a pupil and educator. The teachers here are young and still have life in them, they have yet been drudged and hit by the constant reminder that test scores matters more than the student. The older teachers seem to have assimilated to the state and federal mandates. I dont blame them, poor souls. Not much of a mix of diversity, mainly Hispanics. Calling it how I read the data.
