I recommended this place to my Bf because I saw online it had good reviews. Sadly the reviews didn't match the quality of the work. Prior to dropping off the shoes, my bf asked to have the soles replaced and add the metal taps to the heels. The person said not many cobblers do the heel taps but he still accepted the service. My bf picked up today and while the soles are fine, the heel taps were terribly and incorrectly placed. Rather than flushed with the heels the metal taps are sitting on top of the heel. This is not good for gait or even aesthetics. I can't believe the cobbler did the work and thought it was okay. $50 is what he charged too. Worn through the leather soles of traditionally made cowboy boots? Sergio can fix it--lemonwood pegs included. Taped and superglued ripped straps on your heels in a desperate attempt to fix them before an event? No problem, Sergio will craft and stitch on an entirely new heel cup and clasp, and tell you not to use superglue next time ;) To top it all off, his prices are really reasonable, and his service is top notch. 11/10 would recommend. read more

Sergio at this point feels like family to me. I've been seeing him for a year+ now! I take my Christain Loubitins to him - he places a rubber sole on the bottom and sometimes changes out the tip of the heel. If you've ever worn loubitins, you know they're gorgeous but insanely hard to walk in. The patch of rubber is basically welded on and not only helps the shoes look newer longer but also helps them walk without slipping. Each time I get the shoes back, he fixes any scratches on them as well. :) He basically can do anything you ask with your shoes. One time I went to San Diego in my Loubs and completely demolished the lacquered heal to shreds. I damn near could have thrown them away but Sergio put them back together and even repainted the lacquer to where they looked brand new. Obviously I am unhappy, so I'll provide context: I had taken a pair of my wife's shoes here previously for heel cap replacements. Sergo did a wonderful job and it took about a week before they were ready. So when she needed caps replaced on a pair of her boots, I dropped them off with an expectation that it would probably be a week or so before they were done. No big deal. I was told that it would be about a week and a half until they were ready and would be called. This was Monday, February 25th. Monday, March 11th comes around and I haven't heard, so I call in to check: "No, they're not done but we'll call you when they are. No, I don't know when they might be done." Okay.. 2 weeks for a simple job.. my wife needs her shoes back and I know this shop is -always- overwhelmed/busy, so I decide to retrieve them and just go somewhere else. No big deal, again. I'm not even upset - Just trying to take care of an errand. I drop in on my lunch break later that day and ask for the shoes. Sergo is there by himself and tells me that they're not done when I ask for the shoes. Still not upset, I explain that it's okay but I'd just like to take them anyway. He tells me that I can't have my money back because Erin isn't in the shop at the moment. I'm still not even remotely upset and tell him that's fine, I'm not worried about the money. Just need the shoes, please. He's growing irritated now and then tells me that he doesn't know where they are. He looks through a box of shoes near the front counter for about a minute and then says he doesn't have time to look for them. He tells me that I'll be called later when Erin is back. Ok, I'm not happy but I leave. I return after I get off work, hoping to just pick them up since Sergo said that Erin would be back after 2pm. It's 5:20pm when I walk up. They've already closed the shop. If you're so busy, why are you closing earlier than your posted hours? The next day, lunch hour again, still no call. I drop in, wait a few minutes for Sergo to finish helping two other customers and then ask for the boots. Ah! They're done! I wasn't expecting that, but who doesn't like good news? After he hands them to me, he makes a comment about how they would have called me when they were done, reminds me that he's very busy and then remarks that I should have been more patient. At this point, two more customers are waiting in line behind me. I feel embarrassed and frustrated overall. Why get into a funky verbal conflict with one customer in front of other customers when I was happy to have the shoes back and was about to walk out? Look, we all have bad days and I definitely understand what it's like to be overwhelmed at work and I DEFINITELY don't go out of my way to be one of 'those' customers.. but cut me some slack, please. I didn't start this, YOU did. I would have happily walked away without my money and no repair work done. I was thrilled that the work actually did get done (and looked nice!) and then I get shamed in front of other people? Okay... SO: My wife has her boots back... and there are now TWO slices in the sides of the leather shafts. One on each boot. I've posted the pics below. This isn't wear and tear. This wasn't there prior to them being dropped off for repair. I don't even know how it happened but am guessing it has to do with whatever they were mounted on while the caps were replaced. So... 2+ weeks for a simple job, actively rude interactions AND damaged shoes. Hire an apprentice? Give customers realistic timelines that you can actually meet? Don't damage customer's shoes during the repair process? I love having more work than I can handle by myself. That means there's business to be had and money to be made! This was my first time going to Sergio's Shoe Repair, I was so happy to find a place that is open during this time and also such great service! He's adjusted his hours due to Covid -I believe Google says closes at 5pm, but right now he is open M-F, 9am-3pm. I dropped off a pair of Louboutin heels I needed for an event the next night... they were SO tore up, the heels and soles nearly destroyed and required a lot of work (I'm the worst I know), I wish I had taken a before picture, but he had completely fixed them within 24 hours! He also put red rubber soles on the bottom so they will last much longer, which i appreciate. They're like brand new but better. Sergio is so nice, very fair in pricing and his work is great quality. Was in need of a shoe repair shop because I bought a pair of really expensive boots that I couldn't get my feet into.. ha! I found this shop through yelp so decided to bring my boots in. I explained to Sergo my dilemma and he said he could try and stretch the leather out. I gave it a week and came back in, but it did not stretch out enough so that my foot would fit in. So, him and Erin (owner) suggested a zipper be place on the inner side. I told them I wanted more wiggle room as I usually like to wear jeans in my boots. It took a while to get done, but when it was ready to pick up, I was absolutely happy with the results. It looks as if the boots really came with a zipper on the side (refer to picture #1) and the shaft circumference was loose enough that I could wear my jeans in them. They even gave me a cushion sole that they stick inside the boot. SO HAPPY I CANNOT WAIT TO WEAR THEM!! Will definitely be back to get them re-soled once I ruin the red bottoms of it and plan to take my other shoes in!! Come visit Sergo and Erin if you want great results. I also want to mention that Erin is an Air Force Veteran, so I love supporting small business owners like Erin! My plastic taps worn-out on the heels of my shoes and he replaced them for $2 per shoe and told me my original taps didn't have glue on them and nailed & glued the new taps. That's $4 total and that's a great price considering being downtown. I was happy to give him $5. I found Sergio and he a good professional person that speaks 6 languages. Not only did he redo the entire bottom of my shoes, heels and all to perfection he also did it at a GREAT price. The repairs truly look seamless. I wasn't to happy with the having to ad the leather but if it made it so I could wear them so be it.
