Stay Away from Servpro - Elder Abuse, Lies, and Threats If I could leave zero stars, I would. Servpro was referred by the insurance company to assist my 83-year-old mother after a major flood. What we received was negligence, deception, and outright verbal threats. They showed up Friday--two days after the flood--with just one dehumidifier, despite the insurance adjuster stating that four to six were needed. No fans, no drying equipment, and absolutely no urgency. The home remained soaked and mold began to grow quickly--as we all know, mold starts to develop within 24 to 48 hours. They told us they'd be back Monday to start demolition, but instead showed up only to "take a look." The tech who came Friday specifically told me to meet them at 11:00 AM Monday for demolition to begin. That was a complete lie. Today, they planned to send one "girl" alone--someone clearly not capable of doing demolition work--just to "take a look." They have done no actual work to this day. And let's be very clear: mitigation is the responsibility of the homeowner, not the insurance company. They did not need insurance approval to bring in more equipment. We signed the contract--not the insurance company. They had full permission and an obligation to act immediately to protect the home, and they failed completely. When I expressed concern and asked to speak to a manager, Amber Floyd called me back--not to apologize or resolve anything--but to call me a liar, even after I explained I had taken the day off work to deal with this disaster. She then escalated the situation by giving me her home address and threatening to "kick my ass." Yes, a Servpro "manager" threatened a customer with violence--because they were called out for trying to take advantage of an elderly woman who isn't fully in her right mind. Bobby Payne, another so-called manager, followed up after Amber's outburst--not to help, but to double down. He sided with her without asking for any facts or proof, showed zero professionalism, and offered no solution. Bobby was only concerned with getting his one dehumidifier in the door, rather than making sure my mother was safe. When I told him I would schedule a time for them to retrieve the equipment because I no longer trusted them around my mother, he responded by threatening to bill us. This company is predatory, dishonest, and dangerous. They prey on the elderly, lie to families, and lash out when held accountable. Do not let these people near your home or your loved ones. read more

Our basement flooded and called Servpro at 4:30am. They came to the house several hours later and set up dehumidifiers and blowers, removed carpet padding and came back everyday to check progress. Carl, Jeff, Bayou and Nick did excellent work removing what couldn't be saved and moving furniture to dry everything out. Gave us peace of mind that no mold will set up. read more

‼Long post warning‼ On March 8th at 6:30am our water pipes decided to give us an indoor water park! After the freaking out, I gave Servpro of Macon a call. They were here in no time! Those guys showed up and treated us like royalty. They got the demo on the bathroom done in 2 days. The process seemed to be off to an easy start! For those two nights, we stayed at a hotel due to our water being shut off. A few days later, March 11th, we got to move back in! We had to put our bed and our things ALL in the living room. To say the least, at that point we were literally living in our living room. So from this point on, we were dealing with insurance- back and forth, back and forth...one headache after another. It came down to our insurance adjuster "highly recommending" we use ServPro for repairs. Cool! We were ready to get this show on the road and get everything back to normal. The demo/moving crew at ServPro was more than amazing...so sure, why not use them, right? So we call to get a quote for insurance. Fast forward It's now April 5th. ServPro sends out one of their contractors. He comes over...sells me the dream! "Oh we're going to fix this, do this, we will make this process SO easy for you and you won't have to do a thing!" Wow, ok...sign me up! This guy was super nice and really seemed to be on it. He tells me that during this process, we will have to live in a hotel for 25-30 days. Wow! Taking that in while both of us working, my son in school and having a dog I REALLY had to wrap my head around that. So, I strap on my big girl belt, pack up this whole house and get everything together for 3 people and a dog to move out for a month. So we move back out of the house again. We checked in the hotel on April 25th. They busted up the floors very fast! The floors and glue was up and out by April 28th. So far, so good! Here's where it gets interesting. From here on out everything changed! I had to text/ call the contractor for updates. He pretty much disappeared during those few weeks nothing was done. No one came to my home at all or did ANYTHING until MAY 17th. That's 19 days my family spent in a hotel that we didn't have to. Fast forward We got to move back home June 1st ( 37 days in a hotel ). That day, the contractor said the bathroom still needed work but the house was ready to have furniture back in. No problem, at this point we're all use to sharing a bathroom so it's all good. We get all moved in, we're so excited! I go to cook for the first time, I realize they busted my stove top! They replace that- come to install it and they don't have the right hook ups. (That was on Friday, the stove top is still sitting on my kitchen floor) Everyday since last week we keep getting the complete run around. Some days they come, some days they don't. I don't get any updates on if they aren't coming so I pretty much put my whole day on hold and inconvenience myself and my plans to work around their words. I have had to give up shifts at work because of them showing up randomly. Some of the guys tell me one thing, the contractor contradicts that and says another. Here we are, June 7th, and I still have an incomplete bathroom and I can't cook on my stove. Why? We don't know. We've been thrown around like rag dolls because apparently we are working around their busy schedules. We canceled a vacation because of this- we have to plan our everyday lives around them maybe or maybe not showing up. We've been through pure hell. So today I wake up early, get ready for them to finish my bathroom today (I was told it would be today) and guess what? They're not here!!!! The contractor had his lady in the office call me and tell me it would be tomorrow!? He couldn't call me himself. So I did what anyone would do at that point and I told every single one of them at ServPro that we're done. We will do this all ourselves and they don't have to worry about coming back. Let me also add in there that we walked in one day to "look around" and the repair guys WERE SMOKING IN MY HOUSE!!!!! Long story short-ish...DO NOT USE SERVPRO FOR REPAIRS!!!!! When we had a valve bust, SERVPRO was quick to respond and assist us with the situation. Kyle, Cody, David, Jeremy, Seth, and Cliff were all very professional and helpful in describing the issue, plan of action, and solution. We were very pleased with the speed and quality of service. The SERVPRO team had all the equipment needed to mitigate the situation handy and made several trips to monitor progress and give us updates. They threaten me with a property lein 38 days after completing their work.My repairs weren't even started and the insurance hadn't paid.Christy was very unprofessional and threatening.I tried to keep them updated about my repairs.Well I finally finished repairs.I called Serv pro to let them know I was submitting all of my invoices to Travelers.Two days later I received a certified letter from their attorney that a lein was placed on my home! read more

So, we experienced a leak in our ceiling one week before Thanksgiving. Called SERVPRO of Macon to come out and mitigate the damage after the plumber had cut a whole in the ceiling and fixed the leak. SERVPRO set up blowers to dry out the water. Rarely came out to check the status of the project. The worst was after the project was completed. SERVPRO charged our insurance over $3,000.00 dollars for drying up the water and we had a $1,000.00 deductible. My father-in-law died on Christmas day and we informed SERVPRO of the situation. SERVPRO is merciless in their collection efforts; called incessantly, contacted our insurance company; threatened to put a lien on our house. They will use any and all tactics to get paid regardless of the circumstances without consideration for any unforeseen family tragedies. Use them at your own risk. read more
