I had a shower replaced after water damage. I can't say enough good things about Andy and especially his crew. They truly are all experts in knowledge and skill. Communication was great, every time I called he either picked up the phone or called me back quickly, he was always so patient explaining what was needed and why. All of them went beyond what was expected or required. The materials they used were top quality so that I would never have another problem. The tile was laid so beautifully and much of the floor had to be laid down one piece at a time. The frame is so expertly mitered and joined. They cleaned everything up perfectly afterward. I had hired this contractor to renovate my house and add a detached garage. I had assumed a construction loan for this project which would not pay until an invoice was sent, and an inspection was completed. I had to pay for each inspection individually. Me being a contractor, in a different field, had knowledge of the proper order of procedure for this project to be completed properly. In the initial meeting, addressing the issue of a dip in the floor was my main concern. I was assured that it was no problem. When it came time to the actual repair, he told me that he did not know how to fix it. So, I had to fix it myself. Also, I had to go back over his extremely shotty workmanship on the sheet rock, the painting, and the plumbing as he continued to drag his feet through this project over an 8-month period. He constantly wanted me to pay him before the actual payment was sent from the lender. Which I did to help him out because of his lack of funds. Big red flag! He was unable to keep the proper information and paperwork to the lender, in a timely manner, to keep the payments flowing. Needing to move back in, I worked nights and weekends, in the house, to get it to livable conditions. I paid his last invoice of nearly 12,000.00 and have not been reimbursed from the lender because of his lack of completion of just the renovation itself. After being ghosted for a couple of months, he finally responded with a text stating that it was too much of a hassle to send invoices and have his work inspected before payment. The garage was never even started. I have wires for the exterior lights hanging out of my house. I tried my best to help this fellow to complete this project by buying and delivering materials, cleaning up his constant messes, going over his work, paying him out of my pocket, and being patent with his procrastination of completing just the renovation. Andy picked up immediately and came out to my homebound mom immediately. I live in a different city than her and needed someone I could trust. He had done good work for my parents 10 years prior and remembered them, the job, and even details of their conversation. And he still had their paperwork! He called to let me know he was on his way. Immediately called me upon inspection and wrote everything down in detail so my mom and I could decide in our best interests. This is based on interactions with Andy and while we wasn't able to do the work I needed because he was backed up and working out of town, it is a reflection of his returning my call and even recommending a contractor that might be able to help me out. You have several stages of an insurance claim: 1. The incident that caused it. 2. finding a water damage control company/contractor. If water damage, you may need two or more companies. 3. dealing with the insurance adjuster. 4. the actual job. 5. Any possible issues that need to be addressed after the job is completed from the insurance company to the quality of the work. While his company was backed up and working out of town for several weeks. He did return my call and I appreciate that. That alone would say his company is good. However, he also took time out of his work day to recommend a couple of contractors not listed on yelp, contractors he's worked with that would be in the type of work I need done. That's a great help right there. I can see contractors on yelp with bad reviews, a couple that have great reviews and some with no reviews. With reviews you have to take with a grain of salt. Everyone has a story to tell good or bad. If it's a great review and it's really short, I have to wonder if it's padding. If a review just says they're good, great and the best thing since sliced bread that tells me nothing. Why was it so good? If it's bad, why was it bad and often people are more than willing to go into detail why it's bad. He has not done any work for me but I give him a good rating for returning my call during his workday and not just explaining he was booked up for four or more weeks but recommending a couple of contractors that he feels will do the job right. read more

We had major water damage from a hot water heater bursting in our attic. It ruined a bathroom, the hallway, and a bedroom, and all of the flooring throughout the house. We called Andy at Expert Renovations and he was phenomenal. He was here to look at the damage and give us an estimate the next day. He dealt with the insurance for us.
