From the moment you roll up to the gate you are welcomed by helpful and polite staff members. You are then escorted to your pitch via gated entrance. The facilities are excellent. Toilets and showers very clean and well maintained. Non slip floors and wet rooms. Family room provided for taking the little ones in, toilet, basin, hand dryer etc. Every area has mop and bucket. You don't mind washing fine your area as you finish because you know the person before has done the same. Laundry room, recreation room ( somewhere dry if the weather catches you out). All usual wash room facilities for eating equipment, chemical toilets etc. Motor home refill point etc. All very well thought out. Wifi on the site, although is charge and is a little on the pricey side, but there if you need it. The entire area us well kept, grass well cut, pot plants, hanging baskets all over making it like home from home. Joined up to the camping and caravan club which made it cheaper and well worth it. Kids loved being able to run free but at the same time knew when to be quiet for others. Think this will become our second home. Can't wait to come back.

Location : Adjacent to the Scone Race Course Ease of Access : Driven is ok, along a country road round past the Scone Palace Estate. For motorhomers, you'd need your bikes or another vehicle to get to the shops etc. There may be a local bus from the end of the road that takes you through Scone to Perth - need to check that point. Overall - site looks well run, peaceful and the feeling of being remote. There should be some good walks and cycle paths from the site. We will visit at some point in 2016 and update the review.

Every single person who lives in or visits Edinburgh should make an effort to go to North Berwick…read morefor a day trip. There is a bus every hour or so from the bus station or London Road and it takes the scenic route along the coast, weaving in and out of the nice twee villages that sit along the roadside. It takes about an hour to get there, and once you arrive there is plenty to do, from getting sand between your toes on the beach, to visiting the Scottish Seabird Centre, to getting Fish and Chips or a pint in the pub. There is a sweet wee museum and the public loos have won numerous loo of the year awards!!! It is the place to get a good look at the Bass Rock, begin or end a drive of the local countryside, or quite simply the place to head to on a sunny afternoon. Unmissable.

There are clear signposts which led me to the visitor centre and a cafe and probably more points of interests but by the time I got there and the time it would take to get back to any public transport in Linlithgow, I didn't have time to go any further which is disappointing and unless it was easier to get to by public transport, it's unlikely I'd return.

Inverleith Park really is breathtaking with its huge pond and birds and trees and grass and benches…read moreto sit and admire the whole spectacle. With a panoramic view of Edinburgh castle in the distance and St Giles cathedral among other things, it's a sight to behold. The park is great for children too with a play park and a wetland where you will find a whole host of birds. I especially loved the sundial garden too. The only drawback is I wish there were toilets so I didn't have to cut my visit short but apart from that, Inverleith Park is well worth a visit.

That's science. So if all the previous sing-song moments still ring true, why the update? Well, we're doing a little Yelp challenge that called for my favourite spot "with a view". Sounds easy enough, but Edinburgh is one of those places that has a spectacular view pretty much anywhere you turn... so narrowing it down to a favourite? Big decision. I stopped and thought of where I've seen the most spectacular things in the last year and a half, and Inverleith Park found itself at the top of the list. Besides being a lovely park in its own right, as Nicola C said, it's probably one of the best (and less crowded) viewpoints to fireworks at the castle. With Hogmanay, festival season, Burns night, etc etc etc... that makes for many an occasion to watch fireworks throughout the year and I echo the sentiment: you can't ask for a better spot to take in the festivities. So I previously loved Inverleith Park for its everyday amenities, but as it turns out, it also tops my list of memorable moments. That's makes it truly one darn wonderful park.

This is a holiday rental that is on the grounds of a historic home of pioneer photographers. Just past the first set of steps up to Calton Hill from Regal Road, there is a locked wrought iron gate to the left. Inside that gate, up another set of stairs, is Rock House, a historic home that belonged to Scottish photographer pioneer, Robert Adamson in 1843. Robert Adamson formed a partnership with an artist named David Octavious Hill, and together, they established the use of photography as an art form. On the gorgeous grounds of that historic house stands a charming, white 2 story building, called the Photographer's Studio, which is available for people to rent for their vacations. The studio sleeps two people, perfect for a couple. Although the studio building isn't the original one that Adamson and Hill used for their work, it stands on the same spot theirs did. On the private grounds of Rock House, the sounds of the bustling city fades, and the chirping of song birds prevails. Using a skeleton key to unlock the door of the studio, I walk into a gorgeously decorated bedroom. The white, four poster bed sitting atop sisal carpeting is cozy and inviting. Sharing the first floor is the bathroom, which features a rain shower head! Climbing a winding staircase, I encounter the most lovely octagonal kitchen/dining/living room. The three windows upstairs flood the room with tons of natural light. There is a kitchenette (equipped with a gas range, oven, and fridge) a fireplace, and even washer and dryer to make this home away from home both enjoyable and useful! This exquisitely furnished, private abode, is both comfortable and impressive. The Photographer's Studio is impeccably designed for a romantic getaway in Edinburgh. Definitely book this place early for your holiday! The location is ideal! Located on Calton Hill, near historic landmarks and just a 5 minute walk to Waverly train station. Close to both Old Town and New Town tourist destinations.
