We were referred to this nursery by our landscaper. Luckily we only live 45 minutes from this nursery. I wanted to plant a small Christmas tree and some small bush for our family cabin. The staff were very knowledgeable and patient as we looked through their wide selection before deciding on what we wanted. We finally decided on a Colorado Blue Spruce Tree and some Juniper. They even gave us the instructions on how to plant the trees as well as tips for future care. Their prices were not as pricey as other locations. We loved both selections and are excited to see the growth in the future. As time passes we'll come back to add some more trees and plants for our property. I purchased 40 (6 gal) laurel schip ($6500) from settlemyre nursery and had them plant them. After a short time they started to die (20). I contacted them and was told it was probably a watering problem. I have been watering them as per their instructions from the office when I purchased them and from the crew that planted them. I contacted them again and had suggested someone come out and take a look at them. The owner has not replied. It appears they do not want to respond to addressing the problem. Very poor after sale customer service. read more

We spent well over $6000 on trees and bushes this past spring. Beth was lovely to work with and very knowledgeable. However, the owner of the business Brandon Settlemyre is not a person that I would ever do business with again. As you can imagine $6000 worth of plant material is quite voluminous. We were able to pick up everything but 4 ornamental trees within the first few weeks. At the time of purchase, we had no idea that there was a policy about how long you had to pick up what you had purchased. We thought, surely, having purchased such a large volume from Settlemyre Nursery, they would work with us. Nope. They want to charge us $325 additional in order to get the trees we have already paid for as a "storage fee". They did call and leave messages for my husband but he didn't recognize the phone number and it went to junk voicemail. No one called me even though they had my number too. We will not be doing business with them ever again after we pick up the four ornamental trees. I would not recommend this business. read more

I want to start off by saying that my first visit to Settlemyre Nursery was good. I met with Lauren for a sketch and go design. She was very kind and had terrific ideas. The issue started on my second visit, April 17th, to pick up my plants. I tried to ask a quick question as to where I would check in to purchase my plants. I was met a very aggressive answer as to there were about 10 people in front of me and I would have to wait. After waiting about 15-20 minutes and not being asked if I needed help, I went back to the gentleman to ask where my plants were. I had emailed earlier and told them I was coming. He was not very kind and very exasperated. My husband over heard the way he spoke to me and was extremely disappointed. As a customer, who was going to spend quite a bit of money on plants, I am shocked that a business can operate under that type of treatment. I did happen to notice a sign in the back that said "customers come first". That could not be further from the truth. read more

Love this Nursery! I bought 15 Blue Pacific Juniper for a steep bank. Wonderful healthy plants and reasonably priced. Can't wait to finish this project so I can go back and purchase some day lilies for phase two of a lawn make over project. Very friendly and knowledgeable people to work with. Absolute fantastic service. I was looking for advise on what to use in replacement of very old boxwood shrubs taht had been planted too close to the front porch and house. After exchanging a number of e -mails it was time to see what they could or would do. Not only did they advise on type of new plants to go in the areas but did FRRE design based on pictures of house and the area in question. OK.. now there is this beautiful design and all these plant.. hmmm bet this will cost a bundle.... NOPE... I was shocked at the price and in a GOOD WAY.. A couple of weeks later I notified the folks that I could pick them up in a day or two.. They replied that the plants would be set aside and would be loaded into my vehicle upon arrival .. and thats exactly what happened. They make promises.. they keep promises.. and they don't bust your budget either. Be assured that I have already told neighbors about this place when they stop by to see the progress being made. I can't say enough good about these folks. I certainly recommend them and will be returning to finish out the new landscape. It was worth the drive from Bethlehem NC to their location. I recently bought several drift roses through the website. The transaction was very easy and I immediately received a confirmation email. A few hours later, I received another email stating that my order was ready to be picked up, along with instructions on where to go as they have recently moved their sales site. When I arrived, the staff (who were masked) loaded the plants in my truck and talked with me about planting and caring for the roses. The whole process was very easy and the plants were in excellent condition. I look forward to adding more plants from here to my landscape in the near future. read more
