Gregory Garrett is my new hair hero! I bought a LivingSocial coupon for a facial from Seven Doors but when I realized that's where my friend Greg worked and I needed some major help with my hair I decided to make it a mini spa day. The salon is on the smallish side but that just means that it's a quiet place to receive treatments and you get personalized attention. :-) I was offered a beverage when I entered and then ushered into my facial after a few minutes. The facial was very relaxing and I enjoyed it. I thought I was supposed to receive a neck, arms and hands massage along with the facial (it says in the list of treatments that it is included with all facials so I'm not sure what happened there but I did receive a quick scalp massage). After the facial I moved on to have my haircut with Greg. He took time to look at my hair and talk to me about styles I was interested in. All the staff was friendly and it was like hanging out with friends during the hair cut. When I left I felt like I was the star of a hair care product commercial. I will definitely be back to see Greg and I recommend him but be prepared to speak up on the facial if you decide to give it a go. read more

The actual haircut was just fine - all I got was a trim. The staff was friendly and professional. Salon was clean. My regular stylist at a different salon is only there a few days a month now, so I decided to try 7 Doors after searching on the internet. This place had good reviews so I booked an appointment. However, the highlights I requested were not at all what I received. I was very displeased with the color - it was actually darker than the original starting point. The color was dull and dark. The stylist offered to re-do it, but after spending 2.5 hours at the salon, I needed to leave. When it comes to haircuts/color, if I'm not pleased to start with, I'd rather not have someone mess with my hair again. Once I got home, I realized just how dark and dull my hair color was, so I called to see if I could get a refund. The receptionist was super friendly and said the manager could return my call. The manager did return my call within an hour or so, but stated that she would physically need to look at my hair and determine if it was a disaster, and if so, they would correct it. I explained that the hair color was fine if you want a dark dull blonde, but it's not what I asked for, nor am I satisfied with the service, and I do not want another failed attempt at highlights from 7 Doors. She assured me that wouldn't happen. Long story short, if you want a basic haircut go to this place. But, if you're getting color added, just pray it turns out exactly like you wanted - otherwise, you'll be out of $100. Now I have awful color and I'm out of $100. read more

I just had an incredible 45 minute facial for $30 at Seven Doors thanks to a Living Social deal that I was able to snag. The regular price is $60. They also do 60 minute facials for $80. The owner, Patricia Durkin, did my facial, and she was amazing! She was a breadth of knowledge on skin care and proper hydration and conveyed that information in an interesting and engaging manner. Patricia uses the brand "Eminence" for her facials, a Hungarian beauty line that makes its products with plants, herbs, and fruits to create natural products free of chemicals and pesticides. This was the first holistic facial I've ever had, and I have to say, it was pretty remarkable. My skin felt so good and I felt so grand that I had to ask Patricia specifically what she did. This is the breakdown of what she applied in her facial: - Clear Skin Probiotic Masque - Stone Crop Toner - Herbal Spot Serum - Neroli Eye Serum EACH and EVERY product had an intoxicating aroma that smelled like heaven! I was in utter bliss! Collectively all the pores on my face left feeling like they had gone through a full body detox, and I felt rejuvenated and my face glowed. Also, Patricia has magic hands, she knew the stress points on my face and was able to apply pressure on those areas and relieve tension, it was phenomenal. The GOOD NEWS is that if you find $60 to be too pricey Patricia has reduced the 45 minute facial price to $36 for the remainder of the year. You fortunately don't have to wait for a Groupon or Living Social discount to afford to go. I am taking advantage of this price reduction and have already booked my second appointment! Lastly I think I might become a convert into using Eminence. Patricia just turned 50 this year but does not look a day older than 40! She has been using this line for the past 8 years and it shows. Her skin looks phenomenal and she has a natural healthy look to her. If you haven't had a facial yet and are looking for a good place, I can't sing enough praises for Seven Doors, you will be soooo glad you went! read more

Worst haircut ever! I showed Stephanie pics of what i wanted and asked her if she didn't feel comfortable do let me know. She assured me she was more than capable to do it. In the end she gave me a cut that looked like a bowl cut! I expressed i HATED it and it didn't look like the pic! she then proceeded to tell me that because of my hair "texture" she could not get it like the pic!!! she then told me she was not comfortable cutting my hair anymore and it was beyond her scope!! so now i am left to go to another salon to fix what she did and pay more money! BEWARE NEVER GO HERE FOR A CUT! and the owner was more argumentative instead of being helpful and making sure the client was happy! read more

I came here desperately needing an eyebrow wax before the weekend. I frequent Columbia for business, and this was the only place nearby that would fit into my schedule. While I didn't appreciate having to make an appointment just for eyebrow waxing, I do realize that this is an *actual* salon. The staff was very nice, the salon was very clean, and my eyebrow waxing was pleasant, including the calming serum that basically made me forget I just had my eyebrow waxed. My brows aren't that difficult to wax, the shape is easy to follow and they usually just need to be cleaned up. While I liked the shape, it wasn't my favorite. I would return.. and maybe try another service. Everything is organic/plant-based which is a plus, if that's something you care about. I'm used to paying between $7-$10 for eyebrow waxing so the $17 I paid here ... well, let's just say I REALLY needed to get my brows done and I didn't have another option within my time frame and travel plans. If it cost less, I'd say I would definitely come again. read more

Great Salon!! Stephanie corrected a prior salon disaster. My hair was orange and white from a prior salon visit. Stephanie fixed my hair five days after the salon disaster that I went thru at a Salon I had previous visited. They just threw there hands up and acted like they fixed my hair. As you can see the orange and white was unbearable. So glad I read reviews this time Stephanie is a great professional stylist and colourist. read more

The worst Salon I ever visited in my life .I am from NewYork visiting Columbia and walked in this salon to get my hair dyed but the owner and the staff were so rude .I asked for an appointment and wanted to know the product they will use on my roots but the owner rudely remarked that this salon is not for me and she will not give me any time cause I asked the name of the product as I have sensitive skin .I strongly condemn this behavior and advise others to avoid this salon read more
