I am writing this review as a warning to other parents about The Learning Station. My son attended…read morethis daycare, and over time, he became increasingly distressed at drop-off--kicking, screaming, and refusing to go in. At first, I thought it was just separation anxiety, but then I noticed a clear pattern--his reaction escalated whenever a specific male staff member entered the room. The day he saw this man and immediately broke down sobbing was the day I knew I couldn't ignore my instincts any longer. I brought my concerns to the daycare, and while they listened, they assured me they had seen no red flags. I expected this response, but as a parent, my priority is my child's safety. I refuse to take chances when my child is showing me, in the only way he knows how, that something is deeply wrong. So I pulled him out immediately--better safe than sorry. Beyond my personal experience, I strongly believe that a male staff member should not be assigned to classrooms with 2-3-year-olds who are just developing communication skills. Why not place him with older children who can express themselves better? This man is changing the diapers of little girls and boys and assisting with potty training. I'm not sure why the daycare believes this is a good idea, but I personally wasn't willing to risk my child's well-being. I am sharing this because I would want another parent to do the same for me. If your child is showing signs of distress at daycare, trust your gut. No one will advocate for your child like you will.

Trent and Meghan are passionate about everything they do. They set up a non-profit because they're passionate about training, about the environment, youth programs, safety, you name it. I went with 2 of my sisters in law, 1 of which I've paddleboarded with before, and the other was pretty nervous since she had never done it before. All 3 of us left the day sad it ended, ready to do it again, and big fans of Carolina Waterman. They take tons of professional grade pictures during the excursion, at no cost, and will post them on Facebook along with sending you a google drive of them. That's a crazy good added bonus!!! Go look at their Facebook page and you'll see their work. The reserve is beautiful - clean, calm waters, and you get a glimpse into the ecosystem and the animals that breed and grow up there. They can tell you stories about specific animals and their habits etc. Pretty cool. These folks are providing the community with a great service, you won't regret giving them your business!!

Just returned from our week-long vacation in Myrtle Beach and had to come review Trent & Carolina…read morePaddle Company. Everyone in our group named our standup paddleboard outing as the highlight of our vacation. Our group was three adults (mom, dad, teen) and three kids (10, 9, 6). All three adults ended up paddling and so did my 10 year old daughter (very athletic, good balance and very confident). My 9 year old rode on the front of daddy's paddleboard, and my six year old rode on the front of Trent's board. Highlights: Trent had us fitted to our boards and paddles, briefed on paddling and safety and out on the river in no time. The site of the tour is beautiful and Trent shares his knowledge of the area and the wildlife. Trent is FANTASTIC with kids. My six year old was wiggly & chatty and Trent was a natural with her. He was very encouraging with my 10 year old who was growing tired toward the end of the outing. Other good stuff: Trent answers emails quickly, the online scheduling tool is easy to use, and he takes pictures of your group during your trip and emails them to you. Overall a wonderful experience! We will definitely be going again!

The rate was VERY reasonable given the number of hours and the online resources. I passed the exam with ease largely due to the great guidance and quality of the course. I am now going to enroll in her post-licensing exam course. She has always been responsive and helpful to me. Highly recommend.

I signed up for the NC contracts and closing course with Southport. I completed all of the modules…read moreon 2/6/23-one day before the course was set to expire on 2/7/23. I was told by Gabriella to contact her when I was done completing the modules so she could give me the review sheet. Note: once I finished the modules, there was no prompt or anything for the final exam. In other words, I was under the impression that I had to schedule exam through her or just separate from the module(s). I contacted Gabriella to take the test, but I wasn't allowed because the course had expired. I begged her to please allow me to take the test-she refused and stated I would have to take the course all over again and pay as well. I called the NCREC AND Dearborne/Kaplan and they all informed that even though the rules state you have six months to complete the course, in the end, it's up to the school. I realize I had six months to complete it and I can see if I was requesting this with incomplete modules but I finished ALL of the modules and ONLY needed to take the test. I asked Gabriella if it was possible to receive some type of credit, etc to take the class over again or to just take the test. She never even considered that as an option because she stopped responding to my calls and texts. It actually appears that she blocked me. Why would you block a student who supported your business (and I was going to take my 3rd and last class with them as well) and is making a reasonable request? It's unprofessional and rude. Oh, and don't expect any help from the NCREC...it appears they are all on the same side. *Update: hours after this review was posted, Gabriella's husband called me...he yelled & threatened me, claiming I was harassing Gabriella. He proceeded to call me a bitch (more than once) & said he would come find me. Disgusting! Who's harassing who?
