Attentive, empathic, and warm, Dr. Shachar is definitely diamond in the rough. So happy I can call her my primary care doc.

My Scripps PCP recommended Sharp, and his advice has been golden in the past. Upon acceptance of my application, Sharps sent me their gold-hued ID card and a passel of information of coverages and services. That helped ease my nerves about obtaining new health coverage. I immediately signed up on their patient portal, but was unable to actually use it until my insurance kicked in on Jan 1. I signed up for the Chula Vista Internal Medicine location at 754 Medical Center Court. So far, so good with Sharp. I was able to see a doctor within three days of requesting a visit. No, it wasn't the doctor I signed up for (Dr. David Hansen, based upon his outstanding Yelp reviews, of course), but that's OK. It was my first visit, and I submitted lot of information and received a vital signs examination. I received two referrals which I requested, and was authorized for a full blood panel. The doctor I saw was Dr. Marco Martinez. He was very pleasant and even patient while collecting my information and entering it into the health care system records. He suggested a very convenient location for the blood draw. I was concerned about transferring my prescriptions, but was informed that I need not change my prescription mail order service. Yay ! The Sharp patient portal does not seem nearly as intuitive as the Scripps portal. This perhaps because I learned how to navigate the Scripps portal, and am still learning the Sharps. That said, the two referrals I was granted do not show up on my portal page. I called the doctor's office, but they had no answer, and promised to query the doctor via message. Not yet resolved. Every interaction so far with Sharp staff personally or telephonically has been quite pleasant, and certainly on a par with Scripps. What the future holds will be discussed in Updates.

I am very upset with Dr. Mercandetti when he got upset with me with saying "why can millions of…read morepeople use CPAP machines from China and you can't?" This is after all the tubing, masks, head gear were falling apart and I didn't want a Chinese made machine as I had toxicity from the CCP items and I figured it out and I got "sleep deprivation" from using equipment like the hose, the bacterial filter in the front, the mask, and the hosing and I put 2+2 together. I remember saying to him something like "You know how sensitive and allergic I am" and I felt made fun of by him and I liked and knew him for 30 years I believe. Also, I was getting allergy injections for years there and I would still have allergies and be told "oh, it's the Santa Ana or other outside reasons". I never graduated to a higher level of the injections of some of the items I was allergic to. It's been over 2 years and I don't get injections and I don't have allergies at all like I did when I got injections so I figured what I was having put in my body was making my body over react. Also, one time I had an infection and he said I had to take the z-pac antibiotic and within 2 nights of taking the GENERIC (made in CCP) I had a golf sized abscess on my airway and my doctor had me wheeled over to ER as she said you're going to die and you must go to ER and the hospital to be treated. And that was from generic z-pac antibiotic and I begged him not to give me a generic because I often end up almost dead from the toxins and there's such a lack of quality. But this is the way of the USA with so many things being shoddy and I'm way too sensitive. I refuse to get flu shots, Covid shots, shingles shots, pneumonia shots as I'm way too sensitive. If I want to die I tell doctors I'll take fentanyl (from CCP and the Cartel) rather than die a horrific death with the crap we have available to us. Dr. Mercandetti was a nice doctor and then I told him about a nasal thing that hurt me immediately when Alyssa gave me a free one as they wanted me to do another sleep study and I didn't know it was from China as it was hidden under where it was packaged and then where it was packaged and in little letters way down on the cellophane package it said "Made in China". SO I called him up and he said Alyssa didn't work there any longer and that "everything is made in China and you need to get used to it" (something like that). I realized I must separate from him after so many years as I'm sick of being made fun of my allergies and sensitivities and reactions and doctors get frustrated because so many meds. have allergens in them and I cannot keep hurting my body so I'm better off now. However, I would recommend him as he is highly educated in his specialty but I do agree there's miscommunication and forgetfulness or neglect. But many doctors' offices have bad things happening with their patients. Covid really didn't help either and the fears and the masks and distancing did us no favors and all the guidelines and sitting far away and no magazines in the waiting area did us no favors as patients/clients.

Just super unprofessional office & one I will NOT be going back to. Totally worth looking for another pulmonologist before you go here, trust me.

Still, I was dissatisfied enough to ask friends to refer me to another doctor. The reason was that when I went to see Dr. X, I sat in big waiting room, waited for a long time, and then was ushered into one of about a dozen examination rooms where I waited some more. Dr. X and I were just ships passing in the night. I was referred to Dr. Bressler, and at the time I think I was lucky that he accepted me as a patient. What a contrast in the way that he practices medicine. After any examination he meets with you in his office, answers all of your questions and offers advice. During that time you never feel that his attention is devoted to anything but you. In helping you consider decisions he will explain the issue without talking down to you. In our consultations he has referred me to latest published study on a particular treatment. He is extremely personable, jokes a bit, and shows true interest and empathy. The "staff" are themselves are a team of medical professionals who the most helpful and friendly that I have ever encountered. If I need something I can email his office and get a quick response. This is by far the best experience I have had with any physician and I wouldn't change for anything. One more thing, on your first visit say hello to Dr. B's dog, Izzy.

The receptionist informed me that the Doctor does not except insurance of any kind. She informed me that I would have to pay for my services in full, before leaving the practice, and it would be my responsibility to submit all charges to the insurance company for reimbursement. Uhh no thanks, that sounds like a headache waiting to happen... That's a shame he had good reviews, but something does not add up here.
