Have a new home and ordered the 500 series motorized blind. It took almost 8 weeks to get them (which is the timeframe we were given when placing the order. They were installed this past Saturday. The young men who completed the installation were on time, very professional and did a very good job. The shades look very nice. While the shades will provide a good amount of privacy on our screened porch, we wanted them in order to keep out most of the rain as well as keep out pollen in the spring. We believe these shades will enable us to use our push longer in the fall and much earlier in the spring. would recommend this company and might even consider the garage door screens at a later date. read more

Just built a sunroom off the back of the house and needed shades for the summer sun. Used Danny years ago (2004) for shutters in the front and loved them. One of the first things my wife and I had to do when we moved into our new Myrtle Beach home back in August was to get window treatments. We found Shade & Shutter Expo online and decided to check them out. Our in store experience was excellent and we made an appointment for Eric to come to our home to measure. Eric was just wonderful. He was very knowledgable and helpful in steering us through numerous options. We decided on plantation shutters in our kitchen nook, dining room, family room and master bedroom. Shades went into the master bath and home office. Product and installation pricing was fair for the quality we were getting. Now we just had to wait. So fast forward to yesterday, October 23rd. Eric, and his assistant Eric Jr. just left our home after installing the shutters and shades. They look fantastic. With Eric's direction every decision we made was perfect. Awesome people, awesome product. We bought shutters and hurricane fabric window covers. Mike came out a couple of times, went over our order several times to make sure he had measured and ordered the right items. The guys showed up and installed shutters and hurricane fabric on 7 windows and a door. Everything fit perfect, every shutter worked and looked good. A+++++ service and product quality! read more

We had three solar power shades installed to filter light from very high windows in our living room. The shades do a great job filtering the light and look wonderful. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the shades is somewhat suspect. A motor went bad in one of the shades and was replaced under warranty just before the shades turned a year old. A second shade quit functioning right at the two year mark. This time the technicians had to install a new motor and a new solar panel. At most, our shades are lowered and raised once per day. A lot of days they aren't moved at all, so we aren't subjecting them to a lot of use. The other thing added when the second shade went bad was a $100.00 trip charge for the repair visit. The shades have a 10 year warranty on the shade itself (5 years on the motor), but 1 year after installation they start charging $100.00 per visit as a trip charge. Two of the three shades have required repairs at two years after installation. I'm hoping that the trend doesn't continue with something chronically breaking down. The folks at the company are nice, the product looks good and filters light effectively; they just don't seem to be very durable. read more

I cannot say enough about Shade and Shutters!! this is our second home that we have used their services to purchase and install solar shades. They did an awesome job. We absolutely love how the hardware blends into the background and leaves the shades looking stunning. Easy to operate and they provide just the right amount of shade to keep the room cool. We love how we can see out so clearly but it is difficult for others to see in. They look beautiful and add a little touch of class! This company is the best. They are prompt in responding, accurate in measuring and experts in installation. All employees for them that we have come in contact with have been polite, respectful and tidy. Let me start by saying - the product is great. We are very happy with the finished project and we are getting many compliments on our new Bahama shutters. However, getting there was no fun. There were too many issues along the way to give this company a better rating. First - Because these are custom made locally, they said it would be 6 weeks for delivery. We weren't thrilled with that but said ok. After 8 weeks, I had to call the shop to get a status on my order. I was told, "OK. We're ready to schedule installation. How is 3 weeks from now?" Really? Second - Then we found out that the sales rep had only placed our order for 5 shutters when we ordered 6! (Good thing they had a 3 week window to make the 6th.) When they came to install them, they were planning to install them on the fascia board above the window rather than on the window frame. Not what we wanted or ordered. They couldn't install on the window frame as we wanted because only 2 of the 6 fit within the recessed brick frame of the house. We were ready to cancel the entire order but they had the shop redo things to correct the size. This is not the best customer experience but after 13 weeks, we finally had what we wanted. read more
