I contacted Redding Drapery and Blinds from whim purchased the shades. They couldn't help me. I would need to pay for shipping and repairs. And I would need to package and send them myself. They don't have any problem doing business in Redding California but apparently they find it necessary to charge for repairs. Apparently the warranty doesn't cover the strings!! I will never do business with Redding Draper Blinds or Hunter Douglas again. I'm about to purchase a new home and plan on putting shades in, Will not be Hunter Douglas shades.

I spent over $10,700 on a combination of motorized and manual window shades for my home. While the…read moreshades themselves are generally acceptable, the customer service and overall project execution were below expectations for a project of this cost. After the initial down payment was made, communication became inconsistent. I did not receive proactive updates for approximately two to four weeks and had to reach out myself to inquire about the order status. When I did, I was told that "it hasn't been that long," despite the lack of communication. Given the significant financial investment, I expected more timely and professional updates. The installation was completed over a month ago, but the job remains unfinished. The manual shades were installed without the required lift handles, which have still not been provided. Additionally, wall damage occurred during installation due to ladders being used without protective coverings. These issues have not yet been repaired. After installation, I noticed that several shades were not properly centered, most noticeably in the kitchen. When this was raised, I was told by the installer's assistant that the primary installer had already left and that I should "see if I could live with it," with the possibility of correcting it at a later date. This response did not reflect a commitment to quality workmanship. There were also concerns regarding professionalism during the installation process, including disorganization and a lack of basic courtesy while working inside my home. During our interactions, I was informed that the business had been established by the owner's father and later passed on to him and his brother. Based on my experience, the level of service and follow-through I received does not appear consistent with what one would expect from a company built on a reputation for quality. Given the cost of the project, the incomplete work, unresolved damage, poor communication, and overall lack of professionalism, I would not recommend this business.

I ordered the necessary parts and Kathie finessed the heck out of my blinds so they now behave properly, then tried to charge me $100 for 2 service calls. I wasn't having it and insisted on paying her double. Don't hesitate to give her your business. Side note: My original Hunter Douglas sales person went out of business. I approached the folks at Lowe's who sold me my bedroom shades and they wouldn't even bother to contact their installer. Thank you Kathie for your service and expertise.

I bought blinds from Budget Blinds several years ago and needed one restrung. They were vague about whether they would ever be able to accommodate this basic request and it would be at least a few months. Kathie was able to fix my blinds within a few days as well as help me pick out a couple new blinds for my windows. What a contrast in the two businesses!
