We scooped up the shirt and a few other souvenirs for family, then made our way back out to the streets of Killarney. The price was what attracted me the most because while the items themselves are oftentimes the same from store to store, the price fluctuates. Christie's had low, if not lowest, prices for the souvenir items I was looking for like pins, shirts, and boxers. Location: (5) Located right on the corner of Main and College Streets, Christie's is right at the intersection of all tourist activity; that makes it easily accessible and easy to spot. Service: (3.5) The male cashier upstairs and the female cashier downstairs were both relatively nice, though nothing special. Overall: If you are looking for souvenirs while in Killarney, definitely make a stop at Christie's.

Kerry, we purchased what we thought was a men's wool sweater. It certainly seemed to be priced as a wool sweater. It was a gift for a family member back home. We found it in the upstairs area of the store. We gave our family member the gift last night only to discover the sweater was made from polyester. What a disappointment. We never thought to actually read the tag (our mistake) because the area of the store seemed to imply that the goods were wool items. This was a bit of an embarrassing mistake. The sweater certainly wasn't priced how we would expect a polyester product to be priced. My advice is to try not to assume, regardless of setting. If you're looking for something authentic, be sure to check the item and tags (if any) thoroughly. The other items we purchased all seem to be as expected.

I would say this is not really a con because the price was reasonable compared to other Irish wool products. The wool seems like it was of higher quality too. I loved this store and the town!!!!!! Quills has friendly staff, and a very big store. There's lots of items for sale, knitted Aran goods from sweaters to beanies to scarves. They also sell traditional Irish gifts. They sell clothing and boots. I had the best experience shopping here. The staff are very knowledgeable about all the knitted goods, and explain the history behind it. As a tourist, this was my best shopping experience in all of the Republic of Ireland! Whenever I make it back to Emerald Isle, I plan on spending the day in Kenmare and visiting this lovely store! I only wish I took pictures of the inside. If you are looking for Irish knits, nice clothing, or other Irish gifts, Quills is the place to be! You can pay with your Visa or Euros.

I struck gold! This place has a ton of super cute, locally-made jewelry that fit the bill perfectly. I ended up getting a pair of earrings for my friend and a pin for myself. They have clothing, jewelry, and trinkets such as stickers and temporary tattoos so there's a little bit of everything for everyone. The shop is small so it's quick to visit. The prices are pretty fair especially for the locally-made stuff. Hazel is the owner and was running the shop when I visited, I'm not sure if she has any other employees but she was super sweet when I was there. If you're looking for a small vintage spot to shop, check this place out!

There is only one place to check out, which some may be used to in such a large store but there are plenty of checkers so the queues go quickly.
