This is what I call a country-club mini-golf course; i.e., it features no windmills or clowns but…read moreis set up more like a real golf course. There are water, sand, and rock hazards, doglegs, and undulations. Many holes require banking off a side-slope rather than traditional ricocheting; in fact, ricochets are a crap shoot here because most of the bumpers are curved and made of short bricks, so there are any number of unpredictable deflections that can occur. Some of the bumpers have open spots into the "ponds" and "creeks" so that you really have to be careful how you direct the tee shot. That being said, it's not a terribly difficult course. Par is 40 and I came in at 43 (I managed to stay out of the hazards, a couple of times by mere luck). One problem--they have flag pins which they require you to leave in. Twice I hit the stick on my first shot, and I consider that a robbery of a potential hole-in-one! The course is a lot of fun if you are satisfied with reading a tricky fairway and giving it your best shot. If you want gimmicks, you won't find them here. The maintenance is decent: no worn spots on the carpet, very few bits of small debris on the course, nice landscaping. There was plenty of running water here but it smelled of sulphur. The balls and clubs are in good condition, too. One other neat thing--at each tee they have a trivia question about the state of Ohio. The answers are printed on the back of the scorecard. Nice touch. I was there on Labor Day around 1:30-2 pm and there were only three couples ahead of me and one family of five following. I'm used to having to wait at most mini-golf courses. All in all, for $5 this is a good time and a great value.

I found Swing Time Sports Center a few years ago while looking for driving ranges in Findlay. It's…read moreone of only two dedicated driving ranges in Findlay, the other being Shady Grove. Swing Time has three parts, the Driving range, the batting cages, and the Putt putt course. I believe the batting cages are the only ones in Findlay. I've never used them but they seem to be pretty popular in spring. The Putt putt course is very nice. It's challenging without being too hard for the little ones. Now for the driving range. I use the driving range most frequently by far. There are a few reasons why this range is superior to Shady Grove. The number one reason I come here is the price. It's $5 for 2 tokens and $10 for four. Two tokens will fill a large basket easy. What I normally do is come in on Monday, buy four tokens for $10 and use two while I'm there and come back on Wednesday and use the other two. The second biggest reason is that the range faces east. Shady faces west and in the spring and fall you can't see your ball at all as you are hitting directly into the sun after about 5:30 PM. I can't tell you how nice it is to not have to fight the sun those times of the year. Another big plus is that there is a bucket of water and a brush just behind the grass tees to clean your clubs after you've hit. They regularly move their ropes for the grass tees to keep them nice as well. Now I don't know why they do this but for the last two years the green mats in the "indoor" section have been stacked up in a corner and they will not let you hit off them, stating that they are closed. I also don't know how accurate the yardages are, it kind of depends on where you are on the tees. This range also has some interesting props, including a bell, a brightly painted car tipped up at a 45 degree angle, and an orange cone on top of a hill. Also I'm pretty sure this place is cash only. I'm not 100% sure but I've only ever paid in cash and have never seen anybody pay with a card, but then again I don't watch how everybody pays. Overall Swing Time is a great place for everyone! The Putt put course is very kid friendly and is also inviting if you're looking for a cheap date activity. The driving range and batting cages are also great for working on your game or just to blow off some steam. There are only a few minor drawbacks but nothing that would discourage me from recommending it.
