All the years that we've been coming in we have never had one problem, we usually come in 2-3 times per week. We have always had a pleasant experience. Today that changed! We witnessed the most unprofessional conduct from a clerk, and the manager on the same day! It was appalling! My wife was looking for plastic boxes for our trade shows. I called the store before she left to verify they had the boxes we chose from their website in stock. Usually when I call, the employees are very helpful. Today when I called I spoke with a man, he asked me if my computer told me if the store had any in stock. It did not. I felt like he was lazy and attempting to put me off. I persisted and he confirmed they had several in stock. My wife went to the store and was unable to find the sizes we needed. She asked one male employee where she could find them. I was on the phone with her on speaker and could hear everything. He told her to ask another employee. She told me he was on the phone on his Apple watch. She asked a clerk named Destiny, I heard her tell my wife the boxes were on a shelf and that she was too busy. She said "you'll have to come back later." I was in shock! She said it in a very rude and authoritative manner. I said who is this woman? My wife said a rude twenty something clerk. My wife and I are business people. Our time is money. My wife saw a ladder on wheels and climbed up a couple steps to get the two file boxes that she needed herself. This clerk's Destiny yelled at my wife. It was the most pathetic display of unprofessionalism we have ever encountered! It was like a low class mother yelling at her child! My wife is twice her age. My wife told her she didn't appreciate the way she was speaking to her. Destiny told her that customers using the ladder posed a liability risk. My wife understood and apologized. I was in shock as this Destiny continued to yell at my wife and I was in shock when she threatened her. My wife said to her are you threatening me? She then told my wife she would not check her out at the register. I was again in shock! My wife went to report this antagonization to a manager named Travis. He must be new. We are there all the time. We never saw him there. My wife said she did see this Destiny, she also said she heard her be a little rude and bold to other customers.However my wife never had any conflict with her. All the managers we had ever had an experience with at this store were always helpful and professional. This new manager was a poor excuse for a manager in any capacity! He continued to belittle my wife. He told her in a very arrogant way that the clerk was right. I guess he was never taught the principle that "The customer is always right" Especially when she is professional , calm and apologetic. This ridiculous egomaniac was a joke to the word management! He has no business being in charge of any decision-making that involves interactions with the public! We were happy customers who came 2 to 3 times a week at this location for almost a decade! Now we do not want to set foot in the store. This is all because of two pathetic ridiculous employees. We have many friends and business associates who will surely follow suit if this isn't rectified professionally. We will escalate this up the corporate ladder before we decide whether to say "good luck and God bless you" to this ridiculous new age Staples with Destiny and Travis at the helm. All it takes is one bad apple to lose many loyal customers indefinitely. In this case two bad apples.

It is clearly their busiest department and I'm often left waiting for assistance for 15 minutes or more. It's not a service you'd want to attempt on your lunch break. I've also bought ink, a printer, and camera card over the years. I've found their prices high for some items and service to be average. What I can appreciate since covid hit is the curbside pick up which really is touchless. You roll down your window and they literally throw your purchase in your car, at times quite aggressively. If you don't need it now order and pay online and have it dropped off free the next day which is currently the service I use when I need ink. It's a service I hope they continue when this pandemic is over.

We are very stubborn about the quality of items we buy, and furniture to our liking we have trouble finding - case in point we had been using hand-me-downs for our bedroom sets for thirty years because we never discovered anything that we liked in quality, style, and at a reasonable price. As soon as we walked into the first floor of Blue Ridge Furniture we recognized the quality and beauty and artisanship of the dining tables and chairs and desks; these items are meticulously crafted at Blue Ridge's workshop a couple of miles away. Every item is made from beautifully grained hardwoods and stylishly designed to blend traditional and contemporary. We went upstairs and voila, there it was, the bedroom set style we had been looking for those thirty years. We discussed customizing dimensions with Sidney, the owner, who we immediately appreciated as a sincere and honest businessman and a brilliant craftsman. Although not inexpensive, I cannot say that what we purchased was expensive considering the superior quality and design, and we have been more than satisfied. A year or so after our original purchase I ordered a fully custom designed bed table of the same style to fit a narrow space, and Sidney and I corresponded by email on the design. Tom's business partner Sidney called me back and gave us a very reasonable price considering the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship of the construction. It took about 6 weeks for the furniture (coffee table, TV stand and end tables to be built). The build quality is excellent and we couldn't be happier. About 4 months later we went in with a picture of an antique pie safe that we saw online. Again the Blue Ridge shop took the picture with our preferred dimensions and custom built it exactly as we had requested. They build furniture that will last for generations and were really interested in making sure the customer is happy.

When I got there they were sold out & I was moderately annoyed. The employee told me they would be getting a shipment in that night or the next morning & I should come back the next day around 3 PM (to give them time to unload, etc). That sounded reasonable to me. I returned about 5 mins to 3 PM the next day ... still nothing. I was annoyed. Then an employee, Justus, approached me and said he would try to locate the item in the back & I could browse & he would find me. That sounded good to me. He returned empty-handed. He offered to call me when the items are unloaded & he would set them aside for me & would make sure that I will get them at the sale price (even if the sale would be over). He said that when I was ready to check out for me to have the cashier paige him & he would take care of me. He did. Justus is the kind of employee that every employer should want to have. I certainly will continue to shop here. This customer is a VERY satisfied customer. Kudos to Justus.
