Glad I chose these quarters. I attended a four-day astrophotography conference in mid-September. Cost was fair and room was clean and well equipped. Glad there was Wi-Fi, microwave, and fridge with freezer. Having recently come off surgery, I had requested a ground floor which was granted with ease. My stay was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was available at 8:00 am--simple but appetizing foods, drinks, buns, wrapped energy bars, coffee, etc. All good. A few days after I departed, I realized I left two chargers in the room. I got in touch with Jesse at the desk. He volunteered to pack and ship them using my on-file credit card for postage. Within a week or so, my chargers arrived. Needless to say, excellent customer service! If I return to the conference next year, I will likely book my stay at Shaheen's. read more

Formerly Shaheen's- now owned and operated by Trailhead. Consists of 30 units in a two story structure. There is a front lobby area which is generally unmanned but welcoming. They have a self-serve area where you can make coffee (they have Keurigs, cups, creamer, sugar, etc.), as well as good cereal, oatmeal, bread/english muffins). The rooms were suites- a large sitting area with couch, two chairs, TV, and a separate bedroom. One negative- the AC unit is in the sitting area so if you close the bedroom door at night the bedroom is not cooled. You must leave the door open when sleeping. Rooms were clean- but the disinfectant/cleaner they use has a strange smell that was a bit unpleasant. Recommend they find one that smells better. Bathroom was a typical motel bathroom- sink area, toilet, shower. Overall- good accommodations at a reasonable price (considering you ARE in a resort area). read more

We were pretty disappointed in our first stay at Shaheen's. Upon arrival, the sign on the office door said contactless checkin, and every guest was emailed the info. So I checked my email and had nothing from them. Thankfully someone walked in the office and asked if I needed help. They said it was a text, not an email. I didn't receive a text either. He looked up my info and the text was sent to my home phone number. So he told me my door code. I couldn't remember that code all weekend, so I had to look it up on my phone every time, I'd rather have a key. Also, he didn't tell me how to enter it, but I figured it out. My husband had more trouble when he tried lol. Every time. That keypad is very very touchy. And the kids next door, fighting over who gets to enter the code, yelled it several times. So now the whole parking lot knows their code. I guess Shaheen's is doing a lot of remodeling. I think we had a new room? But I'm not sure if it's finished. The ceilings are painted black, trying to look elegant I suppose, but looks kinda creepy. Many white paint drips / smears everywhere, unfinished carpentry, chips on the freshly painted door. New beautiful bathroom has a large sink but it's completely flat and stuff doesn't rinse down without a ton of effort. Toilet roll is a far stretch to reach. Toilet seat is sharp, really high, and uncomfortable. I know I'm sounding picky here but it was a lot. There is zero soundproofing. Thank goodness we needed the air conditioner, it helped drown out noises from neighbors and construction. For some reason, there was a man sitting in a truck, right below our back window, smoking and playing music loudly. Two nights in a row. Not sure if he was a guest or a worker or what. Public water in the area must be brownish yellow because the new toilet always looked dirty. I noticed the same water in the lobby Keurig machine. I believe the ice machine has a filter because the ice looked clear. As we were leaving, we noticed a little old lady with oxygen was having trouble getting in her door. We watched for a few minutes then asked if she needed help. She told us her door code and we showed her how to do it, but now we have her code. So dangerous if we were the type to take advantage, thankfully we're not. The only plus - my motherinlaw called the hotel to ask if they had any amenities she could purchase for our wedding anniversary. The man said no, but he'd be happy to go get whatever she wanted. She suggested champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. He said he had to go to the store anyways, and he'd make it happen. She called the night before to make sure everything worked out, and he said he forgot! Jeez! He ended up getting a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates from Adirondack Chocolates, and even a card. A very nice touch! But we definitely won't be back. read more

This is our second time staying at Shaheen's Adirondack Inn. They are in the midst of renovating but we did not see a contractor or hear and any noise. We requested first floor rooms as we had a lot of work gear. Our rooms have not been renovated yet but everything is very clean and beds are extremely comfortable. Refrigerator was very helpful. We could not partake of the free breakfast as we had to be off to our work site too early. Staff was great to work with and we appreciated moving our reservation ahead one week due to weather issues, with no charge. We'll definitely be back. read more

This is a family run inn that the owners take great pride in. The rooms are spacious, have double beds, are were extremely clean. The pool is nice and recently renovated. The Inn is close to the lake and town! There is a continental breakfast and complimentary coffee all day. Overall, this Inn was just what we needed for our two night stay in Tupper Lake. read more

Formerly Shaheen's now new management- Tupper Lake Hotel Had plans to go to Tupper Lake snowmobiling, but mother nature had their own plans. Made reservations a week and a half in advance at the trailhead motel in Tupper Lake. I understand they're cancellation policy of five days prior to arrival. Snowmobiling is so much dependent on weather, it's not like there are other things to do in the locality. Within that five day period it started raining. It rained for three days. All of the snowmobile trails were closed. when I called over 24 hours in advance of my arrival they told me that they had a strict cancellation policy and would not give me my deposit back. in the over 35 years of snowmobiling this is the first time I have ever had anybody keep a deposit when I canceled due to weather and trail conditions. Everybody that I have ever dealt with has been considerate and understand the weather conditions, the trail conditions, and a lot of places will honor a 24 hour cancellation policy due to weather for snowmobilers. Just remember that whenever you make a reservation at this place, you will not get your deposit back. They have absolutely no consideration for snowmobilers. read more

Stayed here with my wife to watch the River Pigs Baseball team. This little place is a definite find for anyone looking for a great, comfortable, clean place to stay. My wife and I found this hotel online. We just needed a place to stay for one night. For years we have had generally poor luck at independent hotels in rural locations, but Shaheen's is the cleanest, best maintained property we've stayed in for years. This place just changed owners so my review is based on the current motel rooms. The rooms were clean and the past owners were helpful in helping us pick a room that suited 3 adult sisters. While the past owners went radio silence onus the new owners stepped in and made sure we were good to go and that we had everything we needed. We were on a family last mi Ute planned long weekend and booked a nights stay here on the fly...accidentally for the wrong night..and then showed up after hours clueless how to check in with a unmanned front desk...calling the motel the on site mgr promptly helped us out and was super kind and accommodating despite my error in what night reservation was for. Just checked out after three wonderful nights in our woods-facing 2nd floor room complete with a very comfy king bed, little fridge, etc. Ladies might appreciate the great Sunbeam tourlamine blow drier so didn't have to unpack mine!! Yep it's the little things that added up to 5 stars and I wish I could give 10 for how clean this whole place was... Stairs, bfast, front desk, lot and grounds! Even with workers replacing the siding and hammering early were overlooked by the end of our stay. Thanks again for all your efforts and kindness!!! read more

The motel is reasonably priced and the cleanest hotel/ motel I've ever seen. The hosts were professional and accommodating. The room was large and the beds very comfortable. A morning, grab and go breakfast was nicely prepared. In the morning, we could see the grounds were lovely as was the pool area. They had a pool lift as well. I plan to return. read more

Stayed here for a wedding at The Wild Center-we could walk to the wedding. We had a very nice stay in Tupper at Shaheen's. Room was clean and spacious and we took advantage of the chairs outside the room and sat outside and had a few drinks before dinner. We go to the Adirondacks all the time and always stay in Placid, but the price can't be beat here and we will probably stay again. read more

Stayed here over July 4th. Dated facility but clean and well-maintained by the lovely owners. One minor complaint is that the AC unit on the second floor was dripping water down to our AC unit on the first floor. It didn't bother us after we got used to it. I like how they wrapped the muffins and donuts so that you can take to-go! read more

We have stayed at Shaheen's every summer for the past three years when visiting our kids at camp in Long Lake. We feel that the extra 20 miles is worth it by far! The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff is lovely and accommodating. The location is great and we feel that their use of green technology is of primary importance in an area as pristine as the Adirondacks. The rooms have TV, wifi, and coffee makers. Breakfast is a carbohydrate binge, but the coffee is good, and there are other options. What more do you need after a long day outside? This will be our fourth year and we are eager to return!!! read more

Finishing a really pleasant 3 night stay. Super super clean and well kept older motel lodge. Owners couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Nice but limited continental breakfast. So quiet here and safe. Cable tv and ac that blew cold. Super convenient to the wild center and hiking. For city folk like me, it was a pleasant and welcome relief from the hustle and bustle. read more

A group of 7 of us having been coming to Tupper Lake for 5 years now for the Mountain Challenge. We had previously been staying elsewhere in Tupper. But we are so glad we found Shaheens!! Clean, Clean, Clean!! Friendly owners, free continental breakfast, beautiul, well maintained pool, large rooms and their family rooms have a king bed! Perfect for my husband and I. The rooms with 2 queens are equally large and spacious. Cute little section of putput golf, corn hole, picnic tables. Beautiul clean property, we will Definitely be back next year. read more

Love this place. Family-run, clean, quiet, well cared for motel we've been staying here for several years. It's the best place to stay for a night before heading into the back country in the Adirondacks. Rooms are very large, with two queen sized beds, Windows that open to views of trees and lawn, old fashioned but immaculate blue tile bathrooms and the expected conveniences such as coffee maker and hair dryer. Breakfast is self-serve and includes cereal, bagels, boiled eggs, toast, orange juice and coffee. They do fill up, so you should make a reservation. read more

We had a wonderful stay here for Columbus Day weekend. The room is really big and impeccably maintained. Everything is immaculate. The breakfast buffet is very simple but everything is fresh and the owner cleans up the buffet constantly. A noisy family stayed in the room over us and the owners went right up and got them to quiet down. The Wi-fi connection is also strong. We went to the Wild Center which was a pleasant walk from the motel. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful family run motel. read more
