Unassuming, small and decorated in Shabby Chic and the ""modern cafeteria" vibe with black metal, bricks and no decor on the walls. It's noisy even with only a few customers inside, the walls being brick and VERY reflective and echoing the grinding,whirring and 90's throwbacks coming off the speaker (not complaining at all about the music selection, btw)! Service is prompt, and despite it being relatively busy when i stepped in, even with a slightly left of centre order it was done and in my hands in a relatively short amount of time. The coffee itself was good; not great, but I certainly have had more disappointing coffee in my travels around. You could do far, far worse Than Agent Cooper.

Well, retirement didn't suit them, so now they run Churros Cafe at the Island Markets. The paella is finished and ready to serve at 12 noon - and sometimes sells out soon after. There is a variety of other food, both sweet and savoury. Cold caramel souffle is a winner, as of course are the churros! After a few years of going here I still haven't eaten through their entire menu as I keep getting hung up on favourites, but I'll keep trying!

What started as a goal to buy beans, transformed into a unique educational experience complete with a cup of coffee and exceptional conversation. When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted warmly by the owners, Rachael and Matthew. Rachael made me a delicous latte just for stopping in! Sensing my interest in the process of coffee roasting, Rachael gave me a personal tour of the company's roasting and production area. The company also fixes coffee machines. Matthew and Rachael continued with a tour of the workshop filled with machines and parts. Their knowledge of coffee and all aspects of production is very impressive. After having coffee at a number of fabulous restaurants in Hobart, I was amazed to discover that Tascaffe is the supplier for all of them. They roast and produce a diverse range of coffee blends unique to various establishments. I procured two bags of coffee beans including the strong Retro blend and Italiano for extremely reasonable prices. Such delicious coffee and so fun to learn the process behind the coffee. This proved to be a highlight of my trip to Tasmania.

They come with little shortbreads that are so good. I keep forgetting to ask if they are house made or not... To have to make that decision of giving the kids your shortbreads or not is a tough one that nobody should have to experience. Coffee is just really great. It's brunty strong and hot and whenever I have my first mouthful there is always ALWAYS a moment of "aghhhhh" like an old VB commercial. Makes me smile. I like humble, well priced quality and this has definitely been the goods for me.
