I admire this shop very much for its endurance. I have seen film photography shops close down here and there during my Photography subject days back in college, like--I used to buy films at this place one day, and the next, they're all gone. That's why this shop amazes me.
I've developed a few rolls of film here around a few years ago before my Minolta film camera broke down for good, and I remember that the results have taken me back to those good old days in the 90s. Probably a few weeks after Christmas, my mom comes home with a plastic bag full of holiday photos newly developed.
The signs all over the shop's glass walls just signifies that in order to survive, they have to put in extra services to make income. It just really remind me that those days are really gone, and even if the service of film development is still available, I can't figure out for how much longer it will stay available.
I'm all for saving paper and getting with the times, but sometimes, the passing of time and the changes it brings gives a bittersweet realization. Doesn't it make you feel the same way, too? read more
