I went in to this salon over a month ago to schedule an appointment for my daughter's birthday. She wanted a simple asymmetrical cut and has been counting down the days with excitement until she can get her hair cut. Well, yesterday I received a call (a day before my appointment) asking if I could reschedule my appointment from 6:45 pm to 5:30 because of scheduling issues at the salon. I told her that would not be possible because I work until 5:30 and live in Spartanburg. She then asked if I could meet in the middle at 6pm. I said this would not be likely because of how far I live and the reason I scheduled that time a month ago was because I know my schedule. She insisted that I try to make 6pm because of their scheduling problems, I said I would do my best but it wasn't likely. We hung up. I then receive a text asking to confirm my new appointment time of 5:30pm. I was shocked to receive this text because I just explained to her that I definitely could not make 5:30. I call back. I told her about the text I received and said I wanted to verify my appointment time was not going to change and that I needed to keep the 6:45pm and asked her why I received that text. She was extremely rude and frustrated, as if this was my fault and said "I know ma'am but you will try to make it as close to 6pm as possible right?" I said, "I'll do my best but I want to make sure I still have the 6:45 time." She said, "if you can't make 6 let us know tomorrow but we will of course honor your original appointment time." I said "okay great thank you" and we hung up. Fast forward to today (appointment day) I call at 5:12pm while on my way home from work, out of courtesy, to let them know that I won't be able to make it by 6pm. She then asks me if I'd like to reschedule my appointment. I said, "no I'd like to still keep my appointment time at 6:45pm." She said, "you mean 6?" I said "no, my original appointment time is 6:45pm and I'll be there for that." She asked who I spoke to the day before because they apparently changed my appointment time and I clearly was not okay with that. I told her unfortunately I didn't get her name. She then said "okay, let me check with the stylist quickly". She came back from hold and said "I'm so sorry ma'am but no one will be available to be here for your appointment." I am obviously very upset now. This is my daughter's gift! I asked to speak to a manager. Of course, no manager is present. She said, "I can give you her number though, her name is Jayma" I then call Jayma. No answer. I call again, no answer. I call the salon back. Front desk says she will let Jayma know I'm calling and inform her of the issues. Wait a bit. Call Jayma again. No answer. Call again. Still, no answer. Call salon. No answer. Call again. No answer (at this point, I'm feeling ignored.) Call salon once more, as I started to right this review, the front desk finally answers, "I'm sorry, I was speaking to Jayma, she's actually the one you spoke to yesterday." WHAT?! The manager did this?? RED FLAG! So, not only did Jayma not get someone to cover a shift for my appointment, but LIED and ASSURED ME that our appointment would NOT be moved. They were unorganized and unwilling to have someone stay a little later for our appointment that might have lasted maybe 20 minutes. Jayma ended up offering us a full refund of the gift card as well as a free visit. Lol no thanks, I'll just take that refund. Get it together ivy. So unprofessional. My baby deserved to have her beautiful cut today. She's been waiting a month for this. My appointment is canceled as well! ‍

I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon - no appointment - and waited less than 15 minutes for a wash, cut and new style. This place is quite busy with multiple stylists - I was pleasantly surprised to be accommodated and would not say that everyone should expect the same. I recommend an appointment and will make one the next time I need a trim, to ensure I get the same stylist. I hadn't had a cut in more than eight weeks. The stylist did a very good job listening to me and making a few welcome recommendations - professional. I was in her chair for about 40 minutes - thorough. I like my new look - subtle changes. I was charged $40 - moderate, considering many of the clients are women of a certain age who may be living on retirement budgets.
