What I arrived to was a cosy professional salon using and selling all the usual lovelies- OPI, dermalogica etc. The equipment was all brand new and modern, including my favourite- the heated treatment bed! Wowee. Even though I had a voucher there was no scrimping on the treatments. I find some places try cut corners on these deals. The girl who looked after me was really friendly, she gave some helpful info about the area as the place is quite tricky to find. There was no awkward sales pitch or snide comments encouraging me to buy something I don't need. I will definitely be going back as I know now the low prices are good value, not low standards!

The last experience was worse My tips chipped about 3 hours after leaving the salon! I called to complain and they did not deal with it very well. They just removed the tips off the few that had chipped and did a shabby job or reapplying new tips that also chipped the next day. They never even apologised for the bad shellac manicure!! I would have expected any good salon to actually redo both your hands! But no not that case! I would never return here.

She also kept offering me laser on two separate occasions and forgot who I was and I had to remind her I did not feel comfortable getting laser from this place right now. When I got laser testing the first time I wasn't shaved and I could smell it burning my hair which made me put off- especially since during my wax session I got wax flung at my eye a few times. Although the rooms were clean, the waxing techniques were not great and a different waxer bruised my skin and ripped my skin. A year on I have scaring from the wax I received. I was going to just leave it and never come back but I recently had to go to a dermatologist and a doctor to get prescribed creams and medication to fix ingrown hairs and scaring I still have. I will leave photos of my progress over the last few months of my upper leg and some of the bikini line- I had some skin ripped but that healed fine, however it's too intimate for me to share where she ripped my skin off :)
