Meraki is a photography and creative studio in Lincoln Nebraska, the cutest little spot to reserve!…read moreEntirely white walls with an abundance of props, cute plants, a big double sided backdrop, and a handful of paper backdrops to choose from, this spot offers a lot! Some thing I really love is that the lighting inside the studio is a lot better than other studios I have seen or tried. You can really work with it and pretty much any angle you go from has great lighting. Tip, if you reserved the seamless backdrop paper, make sure you know how to set those things up! It definitely takes time and you want to go in knowing what to do instead of wasting the time that you have reserved trying to figure it out. It's pretty simple but definitely took me at least 15 minutes to figure out and set up. Cleanliness : The floor is pretty dirty and you can almost guarantee getting black sea and dirty pants if you're sitting on the ground. Otherwise it's decently clean and there is a really nice bathroom you can use if need be. She also has Wi-Fi, coffee coffee station, and more. I love how much she has to offer in terms of props, really helps make the session fun. Rates : One hour session is $60, 2 hour session is $110, 3 hour session $160, and so on. You can also add on an extra 30 minutes for $25 if you want. There is a fee if you cancel, and you will not get a full refund, but if you reschedule you can do so without any fee. There is also a fee if you are there even 10 minutes after you're supposed to be gone, so make sure you are watching the clock!

I'm new back to Lincoln and I really don't have much of a network. I reached out to Thuy and she put me on the schedule. Her service was personal, professional, and quick. She was concerned about making sure everything was perfect from the lighting to my hand placement. She was also concerned about capturing my personality in the pictures. This is something not all photographers are concerned about. I had the opportunity to go to other photographers before relocating back to Lincoln. I chose Thuy, because I knew I wouldn't be just a number or another person on the schedule. And as expected, she "nailed it." Worth the time and the money. I suspect you'll leave with a new friend.

We recently attended a child's birthday party at the Lincoln Children's Museum, and since it was…read moreheld after hours (5:30-7:30 p.m.), the museum was closed to the general public. While that time slot wasn't the most ideal for our family's schedule, having the museum almost entirely to ourselves was a huge perk. The kids rarely had to wait to use an exhibit, which made for a much more enjoyable experience than visiting during normal operating hours. Overall, the kids had a great time running from exhibit to exhibit, but I did find some of the museum's displays a little underwhelming. A number of the stations could benefit from clearer signage explaining what you're supposed to do. In several cases, it wasn't immediately obvious how an activity was meant to be used or what made it interactive. Some of the exhibits also feel like they're due for an update. Having visited both, I personally think the Omaha Children's Museum offers a wider variety of exhibits and more engaging hands-on experiences, but Lincoln's museum still provided plenty to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours. The birthday party area itself was pretty standard. It reminded me of a concession stand or cafeteria-style space with tables and chairs. The birthday family was able to decorate a gift table and bring in their own cake, but it didn't really feel like a space where you could create much of a themed party atmosphere. I'm not sure what the museum's decorating policies are, so that may have played a role. One thing that stood out was the lack of water for the adults. The kids had drinks, but there weren't bottled waters or even cups of water available for the parents. I had forgotten my water bottle and ended up filling one of the small paper cups at the drinking fountain, which wasn't my favorite option. The museum also made a couple of announcements over the PA system--one for dinner and another to let everyone know there were about 15 minutes left in the party--but they were so garbled that I couldn't understand either one. I only found out what had been said after talking to other parents. Even with the reduced noise level from having a private event, the announcements were difficult to make out. The building itself has an older feel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does show its age in places. Overall, the kids had a wonderful time, and that's ultimately what matters most. With some refreshed exhibits, clearer instructions at the activity stations, and a few improvements to the overall guest experience, I think the museum could be even better.

We also shared a muffin and they warmed it up for us. There were only a few other people in the cafe at the same time as us so we got our drinks/food pretty fast. I am definitely planning to come back especially since they have a seasonal menu so I'm already planning to try something new!!

Last week,'I called them to see what was going on, they said "o, we had bigger projects that came up, so we weren't able to finish your order." I calmly and politely said. "OK, please let me know when it's ready for me to see." It is now September 2! Really?! So, my order was so insignificant, small, unimportant, that they can't even bother to call me, to tell me! Don't make me wait. Don't tell me you can do it, if you really can't! Because my order is smaller than your other orders, doesn't mean you can set it aside, and I'll wait for months! Unbelievable!
