It was for my lady''s birthday dinner which attended by our whole family. Decent Shanghainese cuisine, our parents were very happy. The house specialty whole fish with pin nuts is highly recommended. This is a Shanghainese's style restaurant, usually it is impossible to wait for a table during the serving hours. Servers are doing incredible job for such volume of tables but it would nicer should they need to be a bit more relax. read more

I've never had vegetarian xiao long Bao before. I used to eat meat and I miss the soup dumplings but this must be the best vegetable dumplings I've ever had. If you've had Din Tai Fung before, the dumpling skin is a little thicker but still thin. This just means that it doesn't break when you pick it up. We got the sichuan cold chicken noodles and the zhazhang mian as well. The noodles are so good, better than DTF's. I recommend getting the noodle soup because that's popular but also any thing with the numbing sichuan spice. The noodles are a little chewy and very filling. They are the perfect texture. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely be back to try other things. read more

Look it's actually decent food if you get the right dishes but generally not a great dining experience. Some of the dishes are really poor and there is a production line vibe which isn't too nice when you just want to kick it with your friends and enjoy a nice lunch. That being said the seating area is quite nice and most of the staff are generally friendly Prices are low which is good considering its locality :) Experience is net average and they are quite consistent with their mediocrity (not my first time here) read more

Mixed results with this particular restaurant. Of the many times that I've been to this restaurant it's been good but tonight appalling. As most reviewers here have mentioned poor customer service. Ordered one of the Shanghai noodles dishes and it came out looking like it was half eaten. The waitress then challenged that that is the normal serving. At the counter paid with credit card and was told there was a surcharge... ok. Showed me the new balance with the surcharge then proceeded to charge me more by rounding up. It's not a cash sale! If you're expecting the same standard every night every serving then this is not the place for you. read more

Authentic tasting food, great size portions. One of my favourite spots in Brisbane and Sydney. Wish I could have given this place at least 4 stars but watching one of the ladies through the window drop some food on the floor then bend down and put it back on a plate before being handed to a waiter to serve - well, just didn't seem right. read more

Sorry but not impressed. I really love dumplings and will put up with a lot for a nice dumpling but these weren't. Nice I mean. The staff were mostly oblivious to us. But not unfriendly when we finally got their attention. The guy at the door did ignore us in preference to saying goodbye to a baby leaving with its family but others smiled and seemed helpful. The fit out was nice except that for a 'new' restaurant at Chaddie up stairs near the movies our table wobbled dreadfully and made an unhappy noise when leaned on. The food. We order steamed pork dumpling which when they arrived, very quickly I might add, were not warm, quite small and very pink. Taste was kinda bland and no 'soup' inside. The wrapping was kinda hard. We also ordered a spring onion pancake. It was a bit thin and not very tasty. But they did give us 2 which was nice. We had to ask twice for water which when it arrived had black flecks in both the glasses and the water bottle. Which reminds me that I swapped out my bowl for one on the next table when we first arrived as mine had red sauces chunks on it. I did tell the waitress. Even so after we finished I was still kinda hungry so ordered another 8 pieces of dumplings. 10 minutes later in a restaurant which was empty except for the two of us, we still waited. This was a Wednesday at 3.30pm Considering the first lot came out literally within 3 minutes of ordering, we decided to cut our losses and leave. I'll be trying another restaurant next time and hoping it's better than the other 2 we've tried in this section. I recommend that this restaurant is avoided! If you're still craving dumpling try the takeaway dumpling place right at the bottom in the original section. read more

I hope you guys to avoid this place when finding a place to eat in Chaddie. The food was good, especially the steamed pork dumpling, but on the other hand, the service was truly terrible, like you shouldn't visit here again. First things first, they'll make you waiting in line for 20+ minutes for seat while there's few finished seat that waitresses don't even bother to pack up until few minutes. I've never seen that before, and this is not acceptable. Second, they don't ask customer for service, I've ordered braised pork belly, and that supposed to came with a claypot, but waitress informed us that they already put claypot into dishwasher and served pork in a bowl instead. They only supposed to wash their dishes after they've closed or they've taken last order. Last but not least, the hygiene issues was a major concern too. The open-kitchen layout allowed us to see their operation, one of their cook are making pork dumpling. After that, she was flipping through her phone and playing music on bluetooth speaker, then gone back to work without washing her hands. TERRIBLE!!! Another thing I have to mention is they impose $1 surcharge for transactions under $30, plus 2% surcharge for American Express, which means you're paying extra 2% just for higher points earning. I recommend avoid here next time, even though you can see lots of people waiting in line. There's other places make good dumplings too. read more

Good pace device very efficient in busy times and food great for a restaurant in a busy shopping centre. At peak times a little wait but good good. Especially good to get away from the busy shopping centre scene and catch your breath with a relaxing new and drink prior to hitting the shops again. Give it a go. read more
