Wow I mean if money weren't an object this place would be up my alley. We stopped by for a drink at the bar and the AC was so cold, as it should be. We got seated right away as we were only the third group there. We were handed a menu and I was very shocked at how much cocktails were. 32€ for a specialised cocktail was a bit much for me so I opted for a Sancerre. The glass it was served in was very cute. I had the unfortunate luck of running into James at the concierge desk during my stay at the Shangri-La hotel in Paris. This was the rudest most arrogant hotel employee I've ever encountered. It is unbelievable that a 5 star hotel would hire someone like this. This little prima donna with a Mr. Monopoly mustache walks around condescendingly speaking to guests and acts as if he owns the hotel. An incredibly rude and arrogant insecure little weasel with a Napoleon complex. As this occurred on multiple occasions with more than one guest the concierge manager Antoine was notified and contacted us after our stay. However, when I mentioned I would post a review of my experience, Antoine refused to tell me the first name of his employee citing 'privacy reasons'. Shangri-La has no interest in addressing these issues so I for one will not be returning to a Shangri-La property. If you choose to stay at this establishment you would do well to stay far away from this narcissistic clown read more

Wow, I will say this hotel is definitely a splurge but its 100% worth it if you appreciate breathtaking views and immaculate service. From the moment I arrived I was treated like royalty. The hotel is gated, and with that, you can feel super safe during your stay in Paris. The staff in every area of the hotel is nothing less than top notch. I will say, I do personally prefer the service at the Ritz, but this comes at a close second. There are multiple belhops at the door all day waiting to assist you with your bags and open your doors. There are two restaurants, a bar, a lounge, and 24 hour room service. The food I had was okay, but the concierge is available at all times to assist you with finding reservations. The hotel itself is beautiful. You feel like your surrounded by glamour when walking in. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was so comfortable, I fell asleep straight away every time I got in it. Housekeeping staff came daily and went above and beyond and treated all my belongings with respect. My view was breathtaking, I did not even want to leave the room. I had the best view in Paris. If you can, I highly recommend! read more

This used to be our favorite hotel in Paris, if not the world. Things have changed markedly. We booked six nights for a stay earlier this month and had to check out early because of a totally unnecessary and shameful experience involving the hotel shepherding a large group of social influencers into the dining area, where they proceeded to photograph themselves and everyone there, endlessly, creating a total scene. When we asked for this to stop, restaurant management refused. Since this is not the kind of activity we want our hotels to endorse, we checked out early and moved to Le Crillon, about which I cannot say enough good things. Le Crillon will be our Paris hotel going forward. Unfortunately, things then got even worse with the Shangri-La. When we checked in, they charged a deposit of $20,000 on our AMEX. The final bill when we checked our was about $10,000. Which means they owe us $10,000. Despite NUMEROUS calls and emails from both us and American Express, the hotel refuses to refund this money in a timely manner. They claim their bank will not release the funds, and they "hope" that, perhaps after a couple of weeks, the bank may be able to release the funds. I feel like we are dealing with Motel 6. Isn't this the five star Shangri-La? One of the leading hotels chains in the entire world? And they are making (what used to be) a good and regular customer wait to receive money they agree we are owed? How bad must their cash situation be to essentially borrow money from a guest in this unpleasant manner? All I can say is, if you are looking for a hotel chain that actively invites social influencers onto its property and, further, will not treat their financial transactions with guests honorably, wow have you found a great spot for your next Parisian getaway. read more

Pricey? Yes. Fantastic? Yes. While we hope that those two usually go together, it's not always the case -- particularly in my experience at top-tier hotel chains where I find that they only thing you're paying for a lot of attitude and to hear your surname a lot. That is not the case here. It's high-priced, but the property is simply stunning as are the view if you get a room with one. The staff are perfect. Formal enough to feel like you're in a top property but *not* stuck-up in any way, neither overly servile (go to the Four Seasons if you like that) nor somehow condescending. They guys get it perfect, for me at least. I don't need ten fake people calling me Mr. XXX all day. I'd rather gave genuinely nice and helpful people who aren't obsessed with pretending they remember my name and going to great lengths to do so (as I saw at the Mandarin Oriental in Munich where I still don't know how they pulled it off). The Shang Palace (chinese onsite resto) was the sleeper of our trip -- we tried it on a lark (who goes to Paris to eat chinese, especially when you live in San Francisco?) and it was amazing. Again, pricey as heck (the 22 Euro won ton soup was particularly stunning), but great overall and worth it. It's a bit downhill from the Trocadero so if you're planning to go there for most of your lunches and coffees (not recommended anyway, go there one or twice for sure but no more) don't bring grandma and grandpa unless they're in great shape and don't mind going up and down the (not terribly large but sufficently large to make the easily winded start sweating) hill. They seem to have a lot of weddings but -- and this is also rare -- they do it in a way that's more fun for the other guests (oh, look at the beautful dress) than intrusive (think: everything is closed today because of a wedding -- as I had seen on weekends at the White Elephant in Nantucket). Props to Alice who did a great job checking us, welcoming us, and showing us around, and who spoke some of the clearest, most beautiful French I've heard (and easily comprehensible as a result!) read more

The Sangri-La Hotel Paris is a palace of luxury where one can escape the busy streets of Paris and relax in ultra luxury accommodations. My wife and I came to the Sangri-La Hotel Paris to celebrate her birthday. The hotel is simply beautiful and the staff treat each guest like a VIP. We chose a garden view suite which was well appointed with amenities and enough room to enjoy our stay while getting a little work done. For my wife's birthday, the Guest Services team sent a bottle of champagne and a cake (no charge), it was a very nice gesture. You'll find the service impeccable here, as one would expect from an Ultra luxury resort. Every staff member was professional and helpful. We did have one small problem where a few special requests for my wife's birthday were forgotten by one of the front desk team members (dinner reservations and a photo op request), but overall the stay here was amazing. I suggest connecting directly with the concierge or the guest services team instead of trusting requests to the front desk employees. I know this is a minor thing, but at these prices perfection is expected and should be delivered. Regardless of the one small problem, I highly recommend Sangri-La Hotel Paris, if one can afford it. Vegan tea time is an amazing treat at the Shangri-La. It's in a preserved castle that is now open for all to see. My friend gets to indulge in the treats as much as me without the worry. We augmented our tea with a champagne toast. You can see the tower of savory and sweet. A separate plate comes for delicate treats to sample the most indulgent and decadent desserts. Beautiful hotel! Stayed 5 days last week and service was wonderful! The spa is amazing too. Dinner prices at the restaurant are expensive but reasonable considering the area of Paris. We at at the restaurant one evening and the portions and food was very good. Less one star because the food is so ridiculously expensive in the lobby lounge and rooftop - $16 euro for a cappuccino and $55 Euro for a gin and tonic/simple cocktail. Maybe it's to keep non guests of the hotel from crowding the space? Not sure but it was annoying as a guest if you just wanted a quick drink in the lobby before going out for the day read more

We stayed 2days at the four seasons George V and was suppose to stay two days at shangri- la hotel. The first thing I called the front desk for was dental floss. They instantly charged me $10 for the floss. This only Stood out to me because we had just stayed at the four season two days. An ANYTHING we asked for they accommodated. Leaving the four seasons they would hold doors for us, call to check about room service needs, etc. the shangri- la paris did none of the above. The Shangri la in Paris is absolutely magical! WOW, is all I can say! From the moment we arrived at the hotel on our wedding day, we were treated like royalty. We were in awe with the beautiful interior design, the iconic staircase and ballroom, the friendliness and service from the staff, and the breathtaking Eiffel Tower view from the balcony of our suite. The dinner and desserts were delicious. We received an upgrade from our original booking and were blown away by the room and the service we received. After postponing our wedding a full year due to COVID and dreaming about our wedding in Paris for so long, our day came and the Shangri la did not disappoint. Absolutely spectacular. My best friend and I came to Paris for my birthday five days and spent them at the ShangriLa. We had flown 20+ hours between the two of us and when we arrived we were immediately welcomed with our drink of choice and our room being ready way earlier ahead of schedule which was lovely. We booked a room with a terrace which had our own private view of the Eiffel Tower. c'est manefique! The staff was incredible, giving us a complimentary bottle of champagne and delicious cake on my birthday, bringing us tea when I felt I'll, and allowing me a one hour late check out. How majestic! The actual palace structure is stunning. The renovations that Shangri-La did to recreate this royal residence are astounding. It took them four years to complete. Upon arrival to the hotel dirveway, you are greeted by the friendliest staff in Paris. Such caring service is displayed that is expected of Shangri-La. After checking in, I was escorted to my suite. I saw pictures in advance, but this did not prepare me for what I saw immediately outside my windows. I had to go out on my terrace (half the rooms have them) and take in the view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower just on the other side. It almost seemed as if I could touch it. Needless to say, I enjoyed views both day and night. This is so ideal for a honeymoon, anniversary or lovers escape. I enjoyed several meals as well at La Bauhinia. The mix (not fusion) of Asian and French seemed to compliment one another with the market driven ingredients. My tastebuds were excited and delighted each time. There is also a fine dining French restaurant overlooking the garden and the brand new fine dining Cantonese restaurant Shang Palace. I hear this hotel has the largest rooms in Paris. I would not be surprised. It is the largest that I have expereinced. For only 81 rooms/suites this hotel offers the PERFECT PARISIAN EXPERIENCE! On Saturday, you can walk around the corner to experience the famous market. It's truly a gem! read more

We stayed in Shangri-La Paris for our honeymoon. We were spoiled with homemade raspberry and honeycomb macaroons and chocolate dipped strawberries. The macaroons were the best I have ever had. I did not even need to stop by Laduree in Paris due to my satisfaction. They provided us with raspberry nectar drinks which had added acidity. It was excellent. They decorated our room with rose petals (but nothing will compare to the floral decoration that my husband and I experienced in India, Maldives and Bali. South Asian countries truly value flowers more than anywhere else in the world.) We had a view of the Eiffel Tower. The view felt overrated until the Eiffel Tower decided to lit like stars for the first five minutes of every hour after sunset until 1 AM. We were thrilled. We would time that moment perfectly for every hour. We wanted to absorb the view. It was as if the Eiffel tower collapsed all the stars in the sky to one structure. It was as if you never needed to leave the city to see all the stars after sunset. It was as if all the city lights turned off for this moment. It was incredible. The room 'felt' expensive as it already was. It felt like it was designed and decorated for indulging businessmen rather than for honeymooners. However, the interior design of the hotel was spectacular. It felt as if you were somewhere else at some other distant time. read more

When I first heard of the hotel, I was a bit surprised because of its location. While the location is excellent, close to the Eiffel Tower, shopping (albeit a bit of a walk) and the Trocadero area's museum, it's not an area with many hotels. After seeing the hotel, I understand why - Shangri-La has truly found a gem. This hotel is striking - even from the outside you feel like you are walking into a palace. Once inside, the hotel is decorated in a traditional manner but in an atmosphere that is reminiscent of Versaille. Service was impeccable. In summary, it pained me to leave. read more

My family stayed here specifically for a casual (non-business) visit to Paris. We had never stayed here before because the hotel is rather new. We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel when our relatives recommended it for wedding guests to use who would be attending a wedding of one of our cousins here in Paris. Although our stay was only a few days, we found the staff and the service at this hotel to be the finest we've ever encountered in Paris - or for that matter, anywhere in the world. It was absolutely first class! Although our family held the formal wedding reception elsewhere, the pre-wedding reception was held here... and the food, drink and service provided for this pre-wedding event was absolutely impeccable! Our room was also elegantly modern and extremely well appointed. To top it all off, the location was fantastic - for those who might be looking for some of the sites of Paris, you'll be pleased to learn that the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower are only a short walk from the hotel entrance! What a beautiful, majestic, and classy hotel. It's the type of hotel where your mind can easily be at ease because the service is always on point and impeccable. I dined at the Shang Palace for lunch to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a friend and the service is absolutely incredible. The dim sum was impressive as were the celebratory Chinese menu options. I'm a stickler for continuously changing plates during family style meals and refilling beverages and they were on top of it. My only complaint was the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was excellent, however I like rich desserts and the options were limited. But this is to be expected at a traditional Cantonese restaurant so this is a very individual and minor issue. Wonderful experience here. They cover every detail from arrival to departure. read more
