I called and got ahold of shanklin.. they set up a free estimate... saw what I had... made recommendations without pushing... when I was approved, they gave me a time and date... the were on time very respectful... the guys showed up and started immediately... no waiting for an hour.. they came in and took care of business... even loved on my pups... very informative and didn't pay me no mind when I had like a million questions.... love the new furnace and A/C... when they pulled the old furnace they found broken fins... thank you again shanklin... read more

Our a/c went out. I called and spoke with Jody, she was very pleasant and helpful in finding a time slot that worked for me. Tom came at specified time to look it over. As it turned out, the HVAC was 29 yrs old. He had to send us a sales rep. Kevin was there the next day. The financing was very smooth and easy, I completed it right on my cell phone and was approved right away. The installers, Nate and Phoenix, were here around 8 am and was finished and cleaned up by 2pm. I was very surprised they had removed and installed everything in that time frame. The price was competitive, but they have coupons on their website. While searching through the webpage, i noticed they also have plumbing and electrical services. I know Shanklin is who i will call for those as well. Every interaction, from the 1st phone call through the installers leaving, was professional and knowledgeable. I wish I could give it no stars but I will stick with one. the only good thing about this company was that they came out so quick. our thermostat for our heat was corroded.. we then bought one that we didn't realize wouldn't work with our house and it just didn't work. so we called Shanklin and we asked if there was a fee to come out and look at it "oh no there is no fee for our tech to see what is wrong. you only get charged when you have our tech do anything" okay great. tech comes and tells us we bought the wrong thermostat and we needed a battery operated one which will run us $90. we asked if that included his fee to install and he said "no it will add up to $300". we politely declined and he asked for the $125 fee for him coming out and we explain we did not know they charged that. didn't charge us but took our information to call us when he got confirmation that they'd have to charge us. gave us a whopping $25 discount and still had to pay $100 for shanklin to lie to us not once but twice. oh - I bought the battery operated thermostat @ Home Depot for $31.86 (that includes taxes) & got it done by saving $270 not working with Shanklin read more

We have worked with several AC companies over the years & have been working with Shanklin since we arrived in Ohio three years ago. Recently, I noticed there was something slightly off with the AC so I called and left a message at night. By 7:45 am Brooke from Shanklin had called us back and by 1 pm Tom was out. Tom spent an hour at the house and diagnosed and fixed the issue and I wasn't charged because it was seen as a follow up from a previous appointment not too long ago. we had a new furnace and air conditioner installed 3-4 years ago. we also subscribed to their maintenance program where they come out every year and do a check. they came out this year and told us that we needed to have $3000 more dollars of work done, as the "blood pressure" of our furnace is too high. I was not happy as we did not make any specifications when they sold us their products. we trusted them to install what was needed for our home. I called and talked with a manager, explaining that we should not have to pay for their mistake in not installing what our home needed. the manager was not super helpful and even took a very snippy tone with me, but in the end, he felt they could so some work, at their cost, that would fix the problem. The day the work was to be done, the tech tells us he doesn't know what he is supposed to do because the only note he has is "wife is not happy" I could not believe how unprofessional this company is. The work wasn't done, the answering service employee is super sweet but unfortunately she's just lip service. nothing has been done, no follow up, no apology for insulting the client, and just plain unprofessionalism. They obviously don't stand behind their products, and in my opinion, don't respect women. our disappointment is immense. when you spend over $10,000, you expect better and I would NEVER recommend this company. read more

This family owned business is one of the best I have ever dealt with. They exceeded my expectations at every touch point. I spent 45 years in luxury automotive dealership service departments so I know how hard that is. This was a service visit on an older furnace with an intermittent problem. It proved difficult to diagnose and ultimately unsafe. Trust was the result of walking through that process and we now have a new, safe, warranted furnace with all the accessories I personally requested. It was quickly and professionally installed, priced fairly and working perfectly. Amazing from start to finish. My husband and I are sick and our heater went out. We finally got to the point of needing help, dreading an emergency fee. George immediately called me back after we left a message and was here within 20 minutes. He had everything fixed within a half hour from entering to leaving. When you are making a large investment for your home, choosing a family owned business with a great service reputation should be a priority. We had an older HVAC system and had Shanklin service the units a few times. Always very professional, on time, and trustworthy. Finally needed to replace the whole system.
