WOW! First time at this restaurant, and i live within 5 minutes walk, have passed it more than 100 times and boy have i missed out by not steppin' in for a meal before. The party i was with were all impressed by the food being served! Nice, fresh food with flavor from the Indian/bangali kitchen. This restaurant is no.5 in the shanti restaurant chain, and focuses more on food from festivities and wedding according to the menu. More of fine dining but still pretty casual. We still could find mostly traditional indian/bengali food, the grilled tandori chicken, lamb, shrimps and seafood and it all tasted great. The only negative thing i can think of is that its somewhat small with many tables, and by the look of it, its packed with guests from 6 PM. For a one-on-one, maybe i would prefer something else with more 2 seat tables, but i will certainly be back soon. Probably the best food i've had in the last couple of months! Maybe the weekend specials for early-birds from noon until 5 PM (1700) will be a good balance between food, price and availability without having to make reservations in advance. Higly recommended, and much better than other indian restaurants we've tried out in the city area.

Went for the "early bird specials" between noon and 5PM (17:00) and while still very good, we got reminded of our previous visit that some of the dishes were larger (more food) in the evening. Still ok, but not the same feeling as our first visit. read more
