Mocha Coconut meeting one of the goats

This was my favorite spot yesterday. I love this place. It reminds me of the kitschy funky places I see in the Florida Keys. It's made up of three buildings with crafts, antiques, small table of baked items and also coastal and home decor. Lots of holiday stuff right now and pet lover decor too. Outside they have two goats named Starsky and Hutch and inside the store you can buy food to feed them. This is the cutest little area. It would take maybe a half hour to hour to see depending on the stuff that you find to capture your attention!

Shantytown Village is right off of US1 at the edge of Palm coast and St. Augustine line. This place is just awesome, they have a ton of handmade items for your home. Handmade goat soap, candles, tikis to homemade pies. The prices are fair and the customer service is awesome. Check Shantytown Village out when you can!!!!

A must when you're in the area. Great work from local artists, staff is fun, and treat yourself to some of the baked goods.

Environment: The space was tidy and well-ventilated, with the pleasant whiff of coffee, pastries, and fresh bread in the air. The glass display cases for the pastries and seasonal cookies were clean, and the backsplash and tiling gave the bakery a modern feel. The bathrooms were clean as well. Food: We ordered 3 pastries: a fruit tart, cream-filled bread, and a chocolate-mousse-like dessert. Unfortunately, the tart shell was somewhat dry and crumbly, though the cream was light, cool, and sweet. Juicy strawberries, tart kiwi, and earthy blackberries topped the tart. When I bit into the pillowy-soft cream-filled bread, it was generously stuffed with cream and dusted with powdered sugar! As for the chocolate-mousse like dessert, it had a soft shell with chocolate cake at the bottom and fluffy chocolate cream; overall it was semi-sweet. To accompany the pastries, we sipped on robust, full-bodied, freshly brewed espresso. Service and Flow: The two ladies at the counter were nice, serving us quickly.

I came in on 4/3 and ordered the following: 1 Warm croissant with ham and cheese 1 Amond croissant 1 Simply Orange Juice 1 French Orange Juice 1 Cappuccino Once my total came I was quoted $31 sounded crazy for the little I ordered but nonetheless I swiped my debit card and went on with my day. Later that evening I was checking my bank transactions, and low and behold I was charged $43.46 for my order. No way! I was not a fan. I reached out to the website email and explained the issue. I got a polite "I'm sorry you were quoted wrong" & a copy of the transaction. I also noticed a $5.67 tip that I am sure I never opted for as I never leave tips with a card payment it's usually always cash. Honestly there are many good home baked places around that are in a better price range , and handle issues better, than this one was taken care of.

During that initial stay, I walked here a couple of times to pick up treats and they didn't disappoint. Since then it has become a go-to when we have guests visiting and want to have dessert on hand. It is a pretty interior space with desserts and treats galore. They are beautifully made and a treat for all your senses. The staff on my visits have always been so friendly and helpful. (I love the southern hospitality we experience at so many places in St. Augustine.) My favorite treat may just be the cannoli. They are smaller sized than what I am used to back home...but this is good thing! in my opinion. There are an assortment of chocolates, brownies, cookies, some candies, croissants...and a variety of cakes and pies. We are not huge sweets eaters but this place is hard to resist.
