Wonderful experience! We just moved to the area and my son needed a haircut. I made an appointment online for 11:30 am. We arrived around 11:15 and they were able to start on us right away: they let him choose which car he wanted to sit in and what he wanted to watch on Netflix. Kayla cut his hair and it's adorable. They give them a balloon and sucker when they finish. Will definitely be coming back! R

If u checkin while you're there cut is $17 w a $3 coupon from yelp. Staff was friendly & kind to my child. Upon entering there are games & books to entertain kids while they wait & seats are miniature barber seats w/seat belts. There's a tv at each station that plays a corporate-made cartoon, animal crackers, and dum-dum lollipops to entertain /distract the child. Haircut was decent. I wanted a trim around my son's bowl cut look focusing around the ears, back of head, & bangs slightly above the eyebrows. The total truth: Layers weren't evenly cut if you looked at both sides individually & compared, the bangs weren't even, nor above eyebrows as I would have liked, higher on one corner than the other, and the back was mostly even (any mishaps not casually visual). TO BE FAIR TO STYLISTS, he is a squirmy kid & there ARE scissors in his face so caution IS a priority. The stylist was patient & kind. She DID ask me if it was satisfactory & I DID say yes. It's the same at any place that will cut a toddlers hair. At other places, Under scrutiny, I have had to inspect then retouch multiple times until I caught all those little things that I wanted to be perfect. He's squirmy-the stylists' concern is your child's safety first so we must be accommodating. The only way we have ever been able to get my child's hair "perfect" was if I held his head down for the detailed & final touches. A satisfying first experience, no complaints & I am mostly likely coming back for other cuts.

We got there, the women hastily got him in the chair and immediately started snipping. My son is crying and we're trying to console him, but she never gave us a minute and kept cutting away. His hair is so choppy. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Would never go back.

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Extremely unprofessional and completely unacceptable…read more I booked my son's haircut TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE through this barber's Booksy page. The appointment was confirmed for August 11 at 4:30 PM, and I planned around it specifically because my son started school the very next day. Then, at the LAST MINUTE, I was told that Booksy is only his "secondary booking app," that he was already completely booked on his "primary app," and that Booksy automatically confirms appointments. How is that the CUSTOMER'S problem? If you know Booksy is accepting and confirming appointments that you cannot honor, then block off your availability, turn off the app, or stop accepting bookings through it. What made it even worse was the complete lack of concern or effort to make the situation right. I explained that I had booked two weeks ago, had even messaged him on Instagram to make sure I had the correct booking site, and that my son started school the next morning. There was no genuine apology, no effort to honor the appointment, and no alternative time offered. Instead, I was basically sent a link to go find another barber. After doing everything I was supposed to do as a customer, booking in advance and receiving a confirmed appointment. I was left scrambling at the last minute to find someone else to cut my son's hair before school. Being busy is understandable. Being overbooked because you choose to operate on multiple booking platforms and then making that the customer's problem is not. Professionalism means managing your schedule, communicating properly, and honoring confirmed appointments. I will NEVER recommend this barber to anyone ever again. If you need someone dependable who respects your time and actually honors appointments booked weeks in advance, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

I booked it as exactly that, confirmed it again at check-in, and when asked to come back for a wash, said no -- my hair was already clean and ready for "dry styling". I asked for a smooth, corporate look and shared usually it was done with a round-brush technique. The blowout and straightening were great. At checkout, I was charged full wash-and-blowout price. Why? "A hair dryer was used" -- not my job to determine your tools. The receptionist then glanced at the clock and told me dry styling is a "20-minute service," though it's listed as 30 minutes on their website. My receipt shows I was well under even that, despite the extended conversation it took to justify charging me for a 45-minute wash-and-dry I never received. Nobody flagged an issue with my request before, during, or after the service -- only at checkout. I tipped my stylist because her work was excellent; this isn't on her. If you book "dry styling" here, get the price in writing first. They lost a repeat customer over a $20 difference. Honestly, the invented "20-minute" line is what really did it -- that's what gave me the ick.

You do your…read morebest research, hoping whoever you pick will do a good job... or at least not completely mess it up! A few weeks ago, I was going through the same process... looking up "best salons" and doing my best to find pictures and reviews of individual stylists - trying to pick a "good" one before I called to see if they were available. I was calling on Thursday, getting ready to leave on vacation the following Monday. We were planning a photo shoot the next week, so I was taking a HUGE risk going to get my hair done right before our trip, and with someone who I had never worked with. I called many places, but naturally, some of their master stylist were booked till the end of time, so there was no way I would see them last minute. I finally stumbled on Shag Spa and Salons. They've been in the Woodlands 11 years, and had many different stylists. I looked through their reviews, and further researched any stylists I thought might work for me. Enter Alex! First of all, I was so happy to see she had an IG page with her previous clients before and afters (@alexatshag). Because I couldn't assume her skill based on her years of work (as compared to a master stylist), I needed to see what she had done in the past in order for me to feel comfortable enough to sit in her chair. I've had some awful hair experiences (as many of you have), so needless to say, I was very nervous! I wanted a soft balayage and a trim with some face framing pieces. Simple, yet considering the circumstances, it could have been a disaster! I called Shag to start asking my questions.. Alex heard the receptionist doing her best to answer, and eventually got on the phone so we could talk. I poured my nervous heart out to her ( I really want this, but I'm scared!) Haha. She listened to what I wanted, explained her process, and opened up her schedule on her day off so we could get er done. I met her early the next morning, and before she did anything, we sat and talked and looked at pictures and she again further explained her plan. At this point, all I could do was sit back, let go and enjoy the process (literally - I love my hair being played with!). Alex was AMAZING. She took her time, talked through what she was doing with me, answered all of my nervous questions, and was SO sweet and happy the whole time. She mentioned she loves what she does, and you could feel it - she genuinely enjoyed painting my hair and styling it! The results speak for themselves. At the end (this took several hours), we were both so genuinely pleased, and I was pretty much shocked at HOW good it came out. I've never had my hair look like this before! She was so excited at how great it looked - it made me feel even better about what I had come in for! I mean, I knew I liked it, but when your stylist is sincerely stoked at how great it looks, you know you did well!! I am SO happy Shag was here for me, and that someone like Alex works for them - I have been in the Woodlands two years, and have finally found my hair stylist!! I absolutely LOVE my hair.. Thank you so much, Alex!! (I didn't have great before pictures, but the afters are fantastic!)

If hair is the goal, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Their ultimate source of income is their small business, which has forever changing prices for the same service, which is to force feed extensions down your throat @ 900-1200. Judging from the public photos..don't lie to clients. They look terrible... This is damaged by carelessness. My compensation. Kaitlin will give you a free treatment and blowout... Do you think I would let her touch my hair again??? Y'all Need to train your staff... RUN, DO NOT WALK!!! Do not pay hundreds of dollars to be MUTILATED!!! If you come to this salon, they will destroy your natural hair (at a premium price) and then sell you extensions that make you look like Hey Shawn - we haven't seen you in quite sometime, since September of 23' - so we have been wondering how you have been since you used to specifically request only Caitlyn to touch your hair and you would visit us regularly. I am sad to read this and also am curious why now after so much time you are leaving an online review instead of calling us personally. Have you visited another salon since your visit with us? Our clients are so important to us and first and foremost we want you all to feel beautiful at the end of every appointment.. In response to your comments.. check your records.. I called the very next day.. I explained my experience... yes, I asked for her every time, but this particular time she was preoccupied with personal issues and teaching an online class during my appointment that resulted with her CLIENT be neglected with foils left entirely too long ( note the pic) , then I was pawned off to the caffeine fiend to rake over my dripping hair like a rag doll... Your comment of not calling you personally is incorrect.. Believe me the damage was horrendous. Who wouldn't you call???
