I have been a patient of Dr. Colite from the time he arrived in Sharon. I had broken a tooth and his predecessor was scheduling me for a root canal in Poughkeepsie- not conveneient at all. Dr. Colite said he could do the root canal. He did a great job. He has since been an excellent and thoroughly professional dentist, helping me through quite a few problems over the years. During the Corona virus pandemic, I obtained an appointment to see Dr. Colite because a few weeks earlier I had been told I had a bad cavity on a wisdom tooth that needed to be taken care of as soon as possible, by a dentist I saw while out of town. Dr. Colite saw me and told me that the tooth was infected and I had a cavity on another tooth. He told me it was infected all the way to the jaw and I could die if it were not extracted as soon as possible. I was terrified since I make my living as a flutist and my daughter had a wisdom tooth extracted and lost feeling in her lips. That would end my professional career. I went to an oral surgeon the next day who told me I had no infected teeth nor cavities. Dr. Colite prescribed unnecessary antibiotics, caused tremendous stress for me and I made a 2 hour trip to see an oral surgeon during the pandemic unnecessarily exposing me and the office staff at the oral surgeon's to each other. I also incurred the unnecessary expense of the visit to the oral surgeon of $230. When Dr. Colite told me I had a wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted, I was devastated and terrified of losing my career as a Broadway musician. Dr. Colite reacted with insensitivity, callousness and a total lack of compassion. Be very wary of this dentist who will probably fill cavities that you don't have. read more
