I have severe migraines weekly where I experienced strokes and passed out several times. As anyone knows migraines are uncontrollable and unpredictable. So answer me this, do doctors truly do not understand what it means to be disabled? Or understand migraines? Or they just don't care about the patients except the money. Where have the integrity gone? To drop a patient for something they can't control is heartless. I was then told I needed to see a new provider, which would normally be fine, except I am at a point in my care where I have always been able to message my provider and receive refills without an appointment every single time. I'm now being told because this is a new doctor, I'm basically starting over, to no fault of my own. When I called, I was on hold for over 15 minutes, only to be told the appointment would be telehealth. However, the patient portal listed it as in person. I was then told I would not receive the telehealth link until after paying for the appointment, which has never been the case in my 7 years as a patient. I have always received the link WAY before the appointment and it was marked appropriately as telehealth in the portal. When I tried to explain that I have been a long-term patient and that this information was inconsistent, the staff member hung up on me. YUP, I got hung up on, by a mental health facility. I'VE BEEN A PATIENT FOR 7 YEARS, I deserve more respect and clear answers. This was extremely unprofessional. The entire team needs additional training on bedside manner and on how to appropriately handle situations when a patient's long-term provider leaves the practice. After this appointment, I will be transferring my care elsewhere.
