They were catering the Rogue Running Fun Run and Fall Training kick-off, providing shaved ice treats after the run. They came in their mobile truck and they had the menu posted on the side of the truck. They have a bunch of unique gourmet flavors on their menu. I placed my order and you can see them preparing the shaved ice. I ordered the mango and cream shave ice in a medium cup. Absolutely adore this place! If it was closer we would get it more often. My kids love the flavors and add ons more than Bahama Bucks and beg to go when we go to dinner at Cuba 512 (across the street). Also plenty of parking since it's in Bowling Alley parking lot. The menu is diverse. The staff are cool. The seating, photo ops, games and chalk board are well thought out. I love the vibes for this food truck. We didn't wait long at all and our snow cones were fire! I would always get Mexican rice pudding which was crazy good but this time I tried Thai tea and holy $hi!!! It is amazing!! Don't drag me for my three stars. I've been driving by this place for years and finally stopped. They have signs on the roadside leading up to the spot that make you question if your life needs changing, so I bit and gave in. Before you wonder how a shaved ice place can get three stars, I want you to think about how many shaved ice/snow cones you've had in your life and what makes one really good for you. If you have those answers, you'll understand my POV. For me, I love shaved ice so fluffy it scoops like whipped topping and dissolves in your mouth. If this isn't the case, as it starts to melt it gets really dense causing two things: the syrup won't soak through all the ice and there will be spots that are hard to scoop with your spoon. Also... do you have kids and live in a hot state? Because if you do, it's possible you've had many many types of shaved ice because your kids love it. My two favorite places are Bahama Bucks for their flavor and menu variety even though their flavors are hella artificial, I've never in my life had shaved ice as light and smooth and airy as theirs. I love the apple pie combo. The other place I miss in Austin is Woodys. Ugh so good and natural handmade flavors with dairy free options and more of a Hawaii take on shaved ice. At Shaved Ice Island I had the Coconut Snow. It's my favorite flavor in life after pistachio and it was decent. I ran into the issue of syrup not touching some parts of the middle of the ice. It's also white so I imagine it's tricky to drizzle it enough to feel confident it's all in there. The coconut condensed milk drizzle on top and whipped cream were a nice touch but it was triple digits in Austin so it started to melt down pretty quickly and soon became hard to get through with a spoon. I admire the marketing, I work in the biz, so it's cutesy but life changing is untrue for me, LOL. Service is great and I love how many flavors they have and the topping choices are impressive. Unfortunately for me, I prefer a smoother and lighter shaved ice experience. They also do parties and do a great job of letting you know everything you'd want to know before ordering just from signage on the truck. Stay cool y'all! read more

these snowcones are one of the best ive had! The have so many flavors and unique combinations it was hard to choose from. Their wedding cake and strawberry is delicious. They even offer a scoop of ice cream at the bottom for a small upcharge but its so worth it, definetly conpletes the snow cone. The staff were super friendly and really quick to get out your order. The seating outside is a nice play to stay out of the sun but can have a lot of bees so just be aware of that! read more

Awesome shaved ice place that was one of the only places near this area open. Very glad because they have solid items. However, the only thing I would recommend is to try one of their flavors you are familiar with. My dad ordered the Diablito which actually had lime juice not sweetened. Just lime juice with some tajin and other spicy toppings. The lime was so sour and powerful it wasn't enjoyable. They had to add some pineapple flavoring to it so it was edible. I also ordered something different and made it my own. They will let you try any flavor to make sure you like it. I had the Hawaiian fruit flavored item, but added chamoy and tajin.. sounds good right? It actually wasn't as enjoyable as it would have been with the mango. Altogether. This place is awesome with great staff who is very friendly. There are some great pics you can take with their backdrop and a life size raspa figure next to their truck. Super cute vibe! I couldn't resist the temptation of creamy cold brew, so I went ahead and ordered one. ($5.50) My son got his usual child's size rainbow ice ($3). Then mine came out, and OMG! It was a creamy, sumptuous, not-overly-sweet awesomeness. It tasted like a chocolate milkshake. I seriously can't believe how good it was. The place is cute too, and they're really set on making you what you want or remaking something if you don't like it. They've got a cute selfie wall, a huge chair for the kids to climb up on, and a couple benches in the shade. The only negative is it's in a HOT parking lot by the bowling alley. Easy to locate in the Westgate Lanes parking lot. Ample seating (with shade). *It would be phenomenal if they had misting fans too! Staff are hard working, nice, and even though there were 8 people in front of me, I probably waiting 7-10 min in line and less than 5 for my order. I let my toddler daughter select our flavor so we got plain strawberry to share (I added a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla). Next time, I'm coming for the Mangonada. I love tajin and tamarind so I'm looking forward to it! What really stood out was the thought they put into the customer experience! The various photo op spots, chalkboard wall, and most of all...the sign emphasizing they want to make each order perfect and happy to do whatever's needed to make it happen. We'll be back! I had an urge for Hawaiian shave ice on a hot spring day and found Shaved Ice Island on yelp. They are located in the parking lot of Westgate bowling. They are dog friendly and gave our puppies two free bowls of shaved ice with whipped cream! I was very impressed walking up Memorial Day weekend as they had organized a free scavenger hunt for children, a bouncy house, free face painting, and a free reggae band playing! The owner's name is Rahul, which I mistakenly thought was a variant of Raoul. You'll notice they serve mango lassi and chai tea shave ice! I ordered the Notorious P.O.G., which tasted like Hawaiian Sun juice, topped with sour gummy worms. Portions were large and cheap for a small at only $3 plus toppings. They even had people from the Austin Film Society taking videos of my puppy and customers. The owner, Rahul, walked up to us and asked us to participate in a snowball fight! The owner looked like an Indian surfer dude from Hawaii and he is killing it! The ice flakes weren't soft enough to yield easily to a spoon. To make it more Hawaiian, Taiwanese or Filipino, I would suggest they offer mochi balls, boba, and halo halo as well. I hope he opens a brick and mortar as the business grows! read more

I can't believe I've lived by this place for years and never came! Shaved ice isn't really my thing. But a friend suggested it while we were walking my dog a few weeks ago and now I'm a regular! My dog loves it so much that when I take her on walks, she leads me here. These are really reasonably priced (the small is $3 and so big it often lasts me 2 days), refreshing, and delicious. And of course my dog LOVES the doggy shaved ice with whipped cream and a milk bone on top. I love the fresher gourmet flavors with added fruit - pineapple fresca and mint lemonade are amazing. Best snow cones in the world that I have ever had! I recommend going with one of the gourmet options, they're worth it (and the smalls are plenty big enough). Every time we go, the customer service is stellar. Employees are very polite and have positive attitudes. Also they are consistent as far as quality and wait times are concerned, no matter how busy.
