I have dealt with Shaw for many years. I had always been more than pleased with their service but bought a PVR from them that was less than stellar. When I came back to them after 3 years, they told me that they recognized that the product I purchased wasn't very good but there had been a time when Motorola wouldn't sell to them. What does that say? So they assured me that purchasing the latest machine would solve all my problems and I would once again be happy. WRONG, the new machine came with a newly released Shaw's own digital guide. I've had this PVR for over 3 years and although it is finally better, it still has issues. When using their discussion group to address these issues, Shaw moved the thread and said that from that point on, all the problems had been resolved. This was a blatant lie, as nearly all the previous issues remained. I live in a townhouse complex and frequently only get 10% of the internet speed that I am paying for, and often dropping out completely. I've had techs out numerous times. None able to resolve the issue and some just making up ridiculous answers to the problem, saying that it's the outdated underground cable in the complex that the complex won't pay to replace. When calling their office, they tested my line and stated that the unit next to mine doesn't have the problem, just mine and I'm an end unit. I am fed up and have been for a couple years but wonder if the other companies are actually any better. I will be given the option to find out, as Telus is installing fiber optics into our units at no cost. They're hoping to get more business from their investment and I can guarantee that this will be the result. Contacting Shaw over the past couple of years, I am given the distinct feeling that they just don't care about their long-term customers, yet along any others. Many have threatened to leave and they do nothing nor offer anything, other than upgrading services at 100% customer's expense, which seems to always be the case. read more

Switched from telus to shaw when we were offered a better price on services. Price was great but they have not been able to get our wifi to work properly after three visits from techs. Very frustrating! Told us we would have to buy a different router to fix problem, spent the extra $$ and did not work. We have given them chance after chance to keep our business but they do not seem interested. I cannot recommend shaw cable. read more

I am absolutely disgusted with Shaw and their outrageous pricing. Now - I have to rent or buy ANOTHER digital box in order to watch all my channels on a 2nd TV. Telus is looking better all the time. The most unbelievably rotten customer service. Expect to wait two hours or longer on hold. When I asked why the call-back feature works only sometimes, I was told that when the wait time is several hours, the call back option isn't given because they might be calling in the middle of the night. So why don't I get a message saying "hang up and call back later"? Why do I instead get a message saying "We value your ...." urging me not to hang up? Do they expect I'll stay on hold until 3 a.m.? Obviously, Shaw gives no regard to customer service. They just don't care. read more

My Shaw decoder hasn't worked for three weeks. A technician was to finally appear at my door this morning but alas after waiting one and a half weeks, no technician has arrived. Shoddy service I would say and a good reason to switch to Telus. read more

We cancelled with Shaw and returned the equipment by the 4th of the month. A form letter comes out to me, received on the 18th of the month. The letter is about as unprofessional as they come, telling me I owe $317.35, and not including the local area return depots (the closest return depot noted is Merritt; they've included all the interior sites, only). We left Shaw to go to Telus. I have lots of complaints with Shaw, at this time. This is a small one. It's the latest irritant on top of the others. read more
