After facing issues that ultimately led to my…read morewithdrawal, I received a letter stating that in order for the school to forgive a $5,650 balance, I must agree not to make any negative or honest public statements about my experience -- including on social media. This felt like an attempt to silence me rather than a genuine effort to resolve the situation with integrity. In addition, I was told I must complete federal Exit Counseling through studentaid.gov to fulfill a Department of Education requirement. While I understand the need for that step, the communication from the school felt more focused on their paperwork than on helping me move forward. To be clear, I am not interested in dragging this situation onto social media. I simply want to continue my education elsewhere. If I am refunded all the school funds that were paid in -- so that I can transfer and enroll in another program -- I will consider the matter resolved and will not pursue it any further publicly. Students deserve transparency, fairness, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with HAI. I hope they reflect on how they treat students who are simply trying to move forward with their education.

We love the way Ms. Penny, helps the girls and she is always so kind. Yes, sometimes with new students it takes a little longer than in a Salon, but we always love the way we look and feel when we leave. There was the most WONDERFUL teacher for one month then she got ripped out of the class and replaced with someone that has zero experience in that category. The new teacher has since gotten the class extremely behind on lessons. Has said multiple times she is learning as well. Asks the students what they want to do instead of having lesson plans ready for us. The students have done an abundance of word searches and crossword puzzles and has learned NOTHING since the previous teacher was replaced. To preface this review I've been going to this school to get my hair done for almost ten years. You…read morehave to go with the understanding that your hair will not look perfect when they are done: these are students. And you have to be very clear with your vision for your hair. This includes the perm of 2010 I accept that. Most of the instances where my hair turned out... differently than expected the instructor was always very kind and got a clear description from me about what I was wanting and then executed that vision graciously. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT A BALAYAGE. My last two visits here I asked for a balayage and had to get it fixed elsewhere for 150.00. After I had the first balayage I thought they could handle putting a few highlights in bc my roots had grown out (to blend my roots without changing the existing balayage much) this was lost in communication, even with the instructor. I ended upwith full length yellow-y "highlights". To fix their mistake they attempted another balayage which I knew would end terribly but tried to give the benefit of the doubt. Almost six hours later, It was awful. BUT instead of charging me for the highlight job they botched they insisted on charging me for the balayage they botched trying to fix the highlights. After almost ten years I will never be back to this place. Their eye rolling and disrespect and unwillingness to take responsibility was enough for me to pay the 50.00 and walk out. I don't cry in public. Ever. And I cried the whole way home because it's an emotionally traumatic experience being so disrespected in a confrontational manner for four hours. At one point there were four of them encircling me telling me I was wrong, and a poor communicator. Overwhelming. Simple cut? This is your place. Simple highlights? They'll get it pretty good eventually. Never a balayage. Never.
