It's got white walls and a small stage area (maybe changeable?). One redeeming factor is that it is pretty big. Obviously the location is prime as well. When I was there, the credit card machines were down. I don't know if this was an issue with the event space or a vendor, but it made things difficult because there wasn't an ATM close by. I would probably go elsewhere to hold a larger event.

We did have one issue with a wedding card being opened and then returned to a new spot (most likely because it was a check and not cash) by someone working at the venue - but this was most likely not the 8th and main staff! This room is on the smaller side. You could have a small ceremony or a few round tables in it. Then there are 2 small hallways on either side of the vault room that lead to the back room which is bigger. The hallways are kind of annoying. They have the men's restroom in 1 hallway and then on the other side, is the women's. It was annoying because it wasn't well marked and it was easy to forget which side was which. The back patio is nice. It's a decently sized patio. It has fake put-put golf grass. I can't decide how I feel about that. Overall I wasn't overly impressed with the space. I believe the bride said it was $4k to rent it on a Saturday, but you could choose your own vendors. Since the location is in tiny little Grandview and not KC, I think that seems a tad steep.

I looked at another one of their locations but truly fell in love with the intimate feel at Brookside. The only downside is the have an agreement to contract a specific company to DJ and bartend your event. Otherwise his location is perfect for a wedding or reception for 100 or less people! I am so pleased with the service level from Heritage Event Spaces! Update after the wedding...... If I were only rating Brookside Gardens they would get a 5 star rating!!! The owners are a awesome but they require you to use specific vendors such as Platinum KC which is a DJ service. I was not impressed by them at all and the songs I requested were not played, it put a damper on my reception and people complained all night about the poor selection being played. I was very disappointed by this but I had no other option because I was required to use Platinum because Brookside has a contract with this specific company.

I officiated a wedding here and the parking garage that you're supposed to use across the street is only two stories as it is and for this event you could only use the lower level due to repairs. there's no street parking , was very difficult for a lot of people to figure out where to park when neighboring businesses have "do not park here" signs. It's kind of an all-inclusive place for parties and receptions they supply the tables and chairs and then you just can set it up how you want but they have got to be the worst folding plastic chairs I have ever seen or used in my life and I go to a lot of weddings.

Had a little kitchenette area, and a clean single bathroom. Easy clean up and perfect for small parties, showers, luncheons, and more!

We actually booked the Kansas City Club just three months before our wedding, because our first venue closed down unexpectedly. We were so lucky the Kansas City Club was open for our date. We did have to provide everything aside from the tables and chairs. We had originally booked a venue that was full-service, so it was just a change for us. It was so nice that we could have the ceremony and reception at the same venue, and the bridal suite was the perfect place to get ready beforehand! I felt at ease talking with her and asking her questions. I was thrilled with everything she did for us from the planning to the event to the cleanup. Kansas City Club is incredibly lucky to have her. The venue itself is so gorgeous, and there are a ton of spaces to choose from. One thing that's really cool about the place is their incredibly affordable a la carte option for rooms so you can pick and choose exactly what you want for your day. We used the main ballroom, the bar, and the groom's suite and it was perfect. We had our ceremony in the ballroom, followed by a cocktail hour in the bar, and then the reception with all of the eating and formal dances and whatnot back in the ballroom. The rest of the night people were scattered about the area, dancing, drinking, talking, and just having fun. The evening was truly beautiful and I'm so happy we got married there. As we walked out with our last box of decorations, I felt sad leaving. Thank you, Renee, for making our wedding everything we wanted plus so much more. I hope to be back very soon! (I already asked my husband if we could get married there again - you might not have gotten rid of us yet!)
