I went in to get my hair cut and bayalage with AMANDA Martinez. First, she dyed my hair this ugly brown that looks brassy, which I could tell it was Turing that weird color when it was on, but she assured me it would be ok. Then she did the bayalage, which I couldn't even see the difference. I told her that and she took offense. Saying I'm taking badly about her business and that my hair is different than the girls in the photo i wanted my hair like and so it's not going to be the same???? If so, then she should have told me that she couldn't do it to begin with. Then she said we can just add more bleach...I told her I didn't want to have to pay for more bleach, and she said I wouldn't. Because she decided to dye my whole head in the beginning she ran behind for her other client. I waited 25 mins for her to do this other girls hair to be nice. She wasted my whole day, I was there for over 5 hours!!! From 1-after 6pm! And then she charges me $245! When she quoted me $165 originally. $75 of that was for that ugly brassy dye she put on my whole head! She said she wouldn't charge me for the last bleach she used $15 but only discounted $10. I ended up paying $235 for hair I'm not happy with! Upset, I posted on Fb that my hair doesn't look like the picture. I didn't mention her name or business in my post, but I get texts from Amanda, and a call from her cussing me out??? That she wasted her whole day on my hair??? I can't understand how she wasted her whole day, when I paid her for her work even though I wasn't happy with it. I just wanted to get out of that chair already. Be cautious with this girl. My cousin also mentioned she had an overcharging experience with her. Now I know why her business in Goleta failed and she moved to lompoc. read more

New to the area and had an opening in my Saturday so, after driving by and seeing some reviews here, called Friday afternoon to schedule an appointment. Lindsey had an opening and I was delighted to have some much needed pampering. I have gone way too long without a trim and was more certain of what I did not want than what I wanted: "a trim with long layers, but not too layered so that I can still rock my "mom bun" as I often throw my hair up at home. My hair does this between curly and straight thing and, with the little one, I cannot make time to style or do much with it so needed something that could air dry nicely/doesn't require styling. I told her I would like some length off but my husband would cry if I chopped it. I also asked for a product to help with the frizz action that happens when I do not blow dry. Lindsey was polite, professional, and I LOVE my new haircut! My husband didn't even comment on the length I took off, but rather complimented how nice & healthy it looks! I should add, the price was very reasonable, the location clean and relaxing- not the noise and bustle of some of the other salons I have visited, and, I really appreciate that there was no pushing of unnecessary products to buy- I got exactly what I asked for! I will definitely be returning. My only suggestion to the salon experience- wine! haha! read more

Angie is a true diamond in the rough. She worked with my family for appointments when we had an emergency and had to cancel. When I called to reschedule she remembered us and the circumstances. My 80 year old grandmother was treated so kindly and her hair looked amazing!!!! She's been on base when she's visited but they just didn't have the time or patience to do a great job. Angie called when my grandmother was finished and kept us feeling like we left her in amazing hands the entire time. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have gone to Kelsey, the owner, for years, and been a very loyal customer I even wrote her a good review. Boy, was I wrong. She has ended up to be disorganized, rude and in my opinion VERY unprofessional. I called confirming my appointment with her three times. I turned down others doing my hair while I waited three weeks for Kelsey's appointment and drove for over an hour to get to her salon. When I arrived on my scheduled time, she was doing someone else's hair. She coldly, and with a smg smirk on her face, said she must have misunderstood and left me standing there without any consideration to me for her mistake. She made no sense and when I asked for my hair formula, as I never intended to go back, she has given me three different formula's. Total nasty nonsense. Through the years I have thoughtfully sent her other people. I realize now, my mistake. One of them told me how dirty this salon was, and I must say I have noticed how unclean this salon looks from the dirty mirrors to a dirty kitchen in the middle of the salon piled high with dishes and a dirty bathroom ETC. Even Kelsey I noticed had food stains on her clothing. Yuck! Go to a nice, clean and professional salon...not this one. read more

Kelsey is wonderful. I have been going to Beverly Hills to get my hair done for many years to a very posh salon.. I refused to change hairdressers until I met Kelsey. Now I go to Kelsey. She is brilliant - always very responsive and a wonderful hairdresser with color, cut, and blow out. I just had to call her from London, England where I have been working, because they messed up my hair at a posh salon and Kelsey was immediately there for me very concerned and telling me what to tell them to fix it. This salon deserves 5 stars all across the board for many reasons: 1. Kelsey. She can do whatever cut, color (she is a color expert!, FYI) or style you want and she has the knowledge to back it up. I will constantly ask her those annoying "why" and "how" questions out of curiosity while she's doing my hair and she is always so informative and patient. 2. Reputable. I have referred many people here, from family to friends to coworkers and they have all been very pleased and come to me shortly after and thank me for the referral. Have not heard one little bad thing at all! 3. Flexibility. They always accommodate my schedule. Sheer Delight understands that most people do work until the late afternoon throughout the week. They appreciate their clients and will work with your personal schedule. Now, that is hard to find. 4. Variety. From young to old and classic to hip, no style is impossible with these gals. No matter what design for your nails or what color you want your hair this week, they do it all! And they do it all with absolute perfection. 5. Location. This is key when it comes to owning a business and Sheer Delight has got this in the bag! Right off of the main street in the middle of Lompoc and in a shopping center with easy parking that goes right to their front door. Can't get better than that! So, 5 stars it is. Amy Combs and Amanda Martinez are absolutely amazing! I did my bridal trial make up and hair at Shear Delight Salon. The salon was so cute and clean. They both took such good care of me. I have known Amy since I was a little girl and I was so honored to have her as my makeup artist! Both Amy and Amanda drove from Lompoc to Santa Barbara for the day of my wedding and were one of the first people to arrive. They collaborated and got all of my 6 bride maids, my mom and myself ready. Our hair and make up looked amazing in person and in the pictures. Even my best friend, who has some acne scars, looked flawless and her make up was not caked on at all. They were so kind and patient with everyone and really listed to what we all specifically wanted. At the very last minute, I decided I wanted extensions put on my hair and Amanda was super flexible and made the extensions blend so perfectly that nobody knew I had them on. The make up Amy used on me was so gentle on my skin and actually stayed on so well. I even fell in love with the lip liner (Spice) that I had her order me one!
