    Sheetz on US-70 in Statesville

Post-breakfast bathroom break. Sheetz always has clean restrooms and so it was my stop. As well, lots of drinks. I couldn't continue without picking up a bottle of water for my day of exploring Statesville. This Sheetz is about a half mile from the Interstate so that may influence your decision to patronize it. That said, it has an easy entrance, a high covered pump area and the store itself it clean. I did not need to refuel at this point but the price here was a good 25 cents cheaper than others on this stretch of US-70 near the highway. Order receipts. Didn't get an actual receipt after paying up front.

We stopped here even though there was cheaper gas down the road because usually Sheetz are good gas stations with clean bathrooms and decent service. This was not the case for Sheetz #621. The bathrooms (men and women's) were both really dirty with overflowing trash and toilet paper and trash all over the floor. We did their "MTO" and waited more than 15 minutes for our food. The regular cheese bites were given in a small cup with no lid, not even half full. The egg platter was abysmal - rubbery powdered eggs that were barely lukewarm with the floppiest barely cooked bacon and soggy mini hashbrownz. The "toasted" croissant egg bacon cheese sandwich was not toasted - not even warm but also soggy. The cream cheese icing for the cinnamon French toast sticks tasted nothing like cream cheese and had a sickly yellow coloring. Overall we regret stopping at this Sheetz. It was nothing like we expected and did not hold up to the typical Sheetz reputation. Zero stars if I could - definitely do not recommend!

Should have known better than go the second day they were open. Been familiar with Sheetz going back over 25 years to the time I lived in the Pittsburgh area. Loved them up there as a place to get gas first and a quick bite to eat second. Generally good and over the years, food has become more of the Sheetz experiece. They move into this area a couple of years ago with mixed results. They opened their second Statesville store last week. Had a tight schedule and decided that even though they had only been open one day, I would give them a try and grab something to eat and take it back to the office so that I could be on my 1:00pm conference call. Early day, you told someone your order and it went from there. Today you go to one of four touch screen station and place your order. You start with a family of products such as Burges, Sandwiches etc and each progressive screen customizes your order to the end and then you press complete and a ticket is printed out and you take the ticket to the front of the store and pay. In terms of automation, it would be nice to be able to pay via credit or debit card and eliminate having to go the front desk and stand in line, pay, and then walk back and wait for your order. I ended up keeping my order simple. I ordered two brats on regular rolls, spicy mustard, sauerkraut and cheese along with a small order of french fries. Went through this routine and 10 minutes later, still did not have my order. Problem was that at least 3 individuals had come in after me, had entered their order, payed and picked up their order and had already left and I'm still standing there. Conclusion is they lost my order or someone else picked up Order #60. Both have happened before at a Sheetz but granted not at this one. One the way out I made a comment which the Assistance Manager picked up on and she offered 1), to have my order remade or 2) to give me a refund. No thanks because I did not have time for either. I do appreciate the offer additional training in both food service and customer service needs to occur

Another Sheetz and it's another Four Stars for them. Every Sheetz I've stopped by has been so much better than any of the other gasoline station/convenience store centers. The restrooms are clean, the assortment of convenience items are better displayed and seemingly with a wider variety of choices. However, best of all, all of their pumps work and I can easily read the screen. So many station have allowed the sun to fade out their screens that I have to sort of act out of memory of what to do. So yes, I'm a Sheetz fan.

Got a toasted meatball sandwich. The bread was toasted so much that you needed a chainsaw to cut it.

Most disgusting Sheetz I have ever seen! Every garbage can in the parking lot overflowing. The floors were sticky and the bathrooms filthy!
